I see Canada has a new prime minister. he's in his father's business now. 40 years ago, I dreamed about waking up in his father's room.
now I could day-dream about having breakfast with his son.
we might get to choose between an old white lady or an old man. Canada got a leader to live for! oh! Canada!

Oh my gosh, Another1 ~
Did you really find P.E.T.
that sexy??? Yes, he was rich, glamorous, and charismatic - and fiercely intellectual (having been educated by Jesuits, and having become a decent political philosopher, in his own right): but he did have a very bad complexion. I certainly never dreamed of waking up, in his bedroom. (Gosh!)
In full disclosure, Another1 - I am a Canadian conservative (with a small "c" - "Red Tory", actually - conservative on matters of fiscal policy, foreign affairs, and national defence - more liberal in terms of personal liberty, social issues, and support for culture and education): and so I don't entirely share your enthusiasm for P.E.T.
P.E.T. did some good things, as Prime Minister. He repatriated the constitution, established the Charter of Rights, and is the ONE INDIVIDUAL who was
most responsible for ensuring the rights of gay people, in Canada. (He deserves everlasting credit, for this.)
On the other hand - he was also an inveterate, and unapologetic, apologist for Leonid Brezhnev and the old Soviet Union; and for Communist China and all its excesses against human rights; and with his National Energy Policy, and penchant for high deficits, almost destroyed the whole Canadian economy. (To their credit, his Conservative and some of his Liberal successors helped dig Canada out of that awful fiscal hole - and some of those SENSIBLE Liberals, now surround M. Trudeau,
fils.)
M. Trudeau,
fils, seems like a very nice and very well-motivated man. He has a large cadre of great talent on his front-bench, and I hope he will do well, as Prime Minister. And yes, he is very cute, Another1 - - - though I would never go so far as to say, he is someone for me to "LIVE FOR". (I beg your pardon, on this one! LOL!)
But, as always, Canada IS the greatest country in the world, and I love it, and am (of course) happy to be part of it. Despite the face that we have had no "revolution" (only quiet EVOLUTION); and despite the fact that we lay no claims to "exceptionalism" - or any notion that God has blessed us or chosen us, above or beyond any other nation. . . we do continue quietly on our way, doing the best we can.
Absolutely, Another1, I am proud of Canada in this small way. We are mostly (most of us) in our hearts, quiet, peaceable, moderates - people of the centre. (You know that, while the Declaration of Independence boldly calls for "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness": the Canadian constitution calls for "peace, order, and good government".)
We have always been much more moderate and modest, we Canadians, in our goals for what government can do, and what our nation means. And so far, even when we differ in small ways, in terms of ideology, aims, or goals - - - we do not let these (relatively small) disagreements get in the way of our uniting together behind the government of the day, and trying to do the BEST for our country.
So, of course, I wish Justin Trudeau all the best, during his tenure, as Prime Minister. It is a difficult job, but, with the help of many talented people around him, and with his own high ideals and good nature, I am sure he will acquit himself, admirably.
