I used to, but quit when I found out I had heart problems. My hubby still does.
I come here for entertainment. I am allergic to cigarette smoke. I cannot go to any bars where smoking is allowed. I t got really bad to the point allergy shots won't do it foe me any more. I am going through a laser desensitization treatment starting in January. So, maybe I can start going back to clubs.
Oh, wait I didn't answer your question. Sorry...I am a non smoker. The good news is the local gay bar owner told me this week they are setting up a section in the club for smoking and non smoking. So, I may be back clubbing soon. According to Patrick Broke Straight Boys will be by there in the spring.

I am happy to report that in Sacramento County at least, smoking is not allowed indoors in any public venue, so outdoor areas have been added to most bars, clubs and such.

Well I'm from the great state of Arizona which had a choice. Ban smoking indoors at all public venues or to let the establishment owners decide. Needless to say if you want to smoke at a club here you have to go outside. I am a smoker. I don't smoke in my own home or car. I don't mind being asked to not smoke, but am getting tired of being told not to smoke! If it weren't for the fact that smokers get taxed for smoking, smoking would be illegal and that's fine by me........

I come here because I cannot get out to local bars. I love the social interaction without the smoke. I think you all are a lot of fun in here. So, it makes up for any social interaction I miss at the local bars.
You know I would love you regardless of the smoking.In Georgia you can smoke inside if the establishment does not serve minors (under 18). Enforcement of the law is left to the building inspectors, who work 8-5 M-F and don't have time to do enforcement, hell they can't even get around to inspect all the buildings for structural safety let alone worry about smokers. A lot of restaurants have banned minors to keep their smoking customers. Needless to say all bars are smoking.

Here is Ohio smoking is not permitted in local establishments or within 10 feet of a public entrance. We have a special agency which enforces the law here and many extablishments have been fined heavily....... I do not smoke either
Such is the nanny state. Government thinks it always knows what is best for us and they are bound and determined to make us bend to their will.

Well you are lucky in Georgia then. I do sympathize with Jayman though. To be limited by your health from enjoying what others take for granted is probably rough. Jayman you seem to be one helluva guy and Kudos for you for being sooooo darn nice!

Seattle here, and yes, I smoke. It limits the dips into the dating pool, but I still manage to get wet.
In Washington, the population voted into law a bill that bans smoking in all public places, and limits of 25 feet of any public entrance. Most gay bars now have outdoor covered "patios" so smokers can still smoke outside, within the comfines of the building.

I used to smoke 4 packs a day but quit Jan 1 1989 and have not touched one since. Even after all those years I still get cravings. Talk about addicting! Here in Iowa they banned smoking in all public places except casinos and veterans homes, figure that one out. Bars are now trying real hard to put in outdoor beer gardens.
