Streaming new 2mb files

Hi, Since the 1mb files were replaced by the 2mb files I have have been getting problems streaming. I get the sound but no picture. It's okay if I stream the 512k ones, but as you know the quality is not as good as 1mb.

Is this is a problem with the set up of my Windows Media ?

Please help

There probably isn't any issues with your Windows Media setup. Unfortunately the video sizes are bigger and you might have issues streaming them. I would maybe suggest right clicking the link and downloading the video. You could also maybe try streaming them in a different format. It might also help not to play them right away until most of the video has downloaded.

If you are still having problems when you right click and save the video, it might be your computer. I keep an old laptop next to my bed which plays the 1MB files fine, but stutters on the 2MB. The increased throughput requires a decent processor to keep up with the decoding.

Thanks Greatlakes2, but my laptop is just 12 months old. Mark, the reason I choose to stream instead of download is twofold:

A. Streaming is instantaneous - you don't have to wait for the files to be downloaded. Over here although I'm on broadband, I get quite poor speeds from the USA.

B. Files take up room on my hard drive and, considering I visit quite a lot of your associated sites, I would soon fill the hard drive up.

Please bring back the 1mb files, even if its at the expense of the lower quality ones.

Hi Mark.
I also can't watch anything in 2mb, with the new Dustin, Tyler, and CJ vid all i get is file not found.
Like Jon i also live in the UK, and i also have a fairly new computer as well.
I have no problems with the 512k.

Well I wondered what was going on! I'll go back and see. I was getting some and not getting others. Always the nagging fear that one's puter is about to crash.

Mark I watched the CJ, Tyler, Dustin vid in 2MB format this a.m. Went back to watch it again and it seems the link is broken. It will however play in the 512k.

BTW..I LOVE the 2MB quality ))

I've not tried downloading, my issue is streaming the 2mb file. 512 and the old 1mb files work okay. All I get is sound but no pics.

I got the 2MB link broken on the CJ, Dustin, Tyler vid today as well. I watched on the 512K with no problem. I had no problem with the 2MB from last weekend.

I just tried again, link is broken. I went to the Alden, Dexter, Robert vid, and it opens just fine in 2MB.

Something is up with the new release.

Well the 2mb files definately do not stream properly and I have no spare hard disk room to download. Please bring back the 1mb files otherwise I fear I may have to find a site that does. Sorry.

I download the full episodes & prefer to do so rather than stream so I can watch them when I have the time.

I stream the full film - and thanks for being helpfull. Regarding the guy who mentioned downloading - I've explained why I dont download - its called lack of storage space.

I only ever download the really good films that I want to keep for every, like last years Xmas films and the Antony and cousin and Danny and Ryan. Thats about it.

This is purely for my own personal use & to save space on my hdd - I am having burning to dvd issues with the 2mb episodes. They burn ok but the playback is distorted. I have 2 burning programmes - Nero 8 & Moviefactory 7 & both programmes have problems with the 2mb.

Raysvq have you tried converting the 2Mb files to Mpeg before burning? That works well for me when burning with Nero
