Some confusion on models and scenes

Dande1 and the guy who posted this are members of Broke Straight Boys's for the wrong reason, I think. I watch to see the guys suck and fuck. Dande sounds like my English teacher and the other guy..... David I don't care if a word is mispelled and I don't think a lot of other guys and gals do either. For some reason Dande1 and this other guy doing numbers about spelling kind of pisses me off. Its as my mother would say "Rude."
elyot1, you are pretty dumb, even for a teenager. (You called me 'rude", which I was not). Go back and read the original posting. Spelling is only one point in that posting. Did you ignore the rest of it? I worked in the newspaper business some years back and the Editor always said: "We do not pander to the ignorant masses, nor do we cater to their whims." I take that to heart. Do you take pride in ignorance, laziness, and sloth? I will not back down. I stand by what I said, it is all true. Seems you don't like the bad news, so you want to behead the messenger.

David, yeah, in this message for example the writing is a lot better. Some of the texts on College Boy Physicals were like ostensibly translated from Serbo-Croat in Braille by a 6 y.o. unfamiliar with English as it is spoken and spelled in the US, and the same with Broke Straight Boys I even thought you were from another country and had just picked up your English somehow, without studying it!!! But that also became part of the charm in a way.

Here's what I think is happening in the last few weeks on this forum: all of us are noticing these inconsistencies in, for example, episode order, or like where the models turn up before or after the shoots you do with them, or how good these guys are at playing straight for purposes of the episode, or how well or ill they pick up the cues you guys flash them off cam during a shoot, or maybe we pick up on the "gay" stuff (like kissing) that is chopped (not quite in time) because it isn't in character with the specific model's role, et cetera...and some of that can interrupt the mood you're in while watching the scene. I mean by that that you're jacking your throbbing wet boner, it feels so good, you can sense an awesome orgasm welling up somewhere down the line starting to tingle up your spine, your eyes are starting to blur a little, and...you run into an "inconsistency" and maybe the moment is lost for a second. On the other hand, with our dicks safe in our jeans, we are starting to compare notes, blog each other on here, and catalog these anomalies. This has got to be of tremendous interest to you guys, you and Patrick and Mark and Co, for totally obvious reasons. I've mentioned the grammar and spelling several times and it's cool you're doing something about it. And I don't doubt all the other observations are studied carefully by your team.

You guys run "fetish" sites in a way. Not spanking or leather or pee, but instead doctors, and "boys in a jam forced into doin' stuff they hate cuz they have to for the bread". That turns us on, I guess. I love this site, and like Clyde, I love the forums and the interaction on the threads. In a way the members who analyze the fluffs and mistakes and quality of the product are part of your team as much as they are member-customers. But remember through all this that we are paying for a dream, and when you break the spell in any way some of us can come down with a bump or can feel deceived. I personally really like the intrinsic awkwardness of the sites and jumpy splicing and the absurdities in some of what happens. I don't just like, I love, but anyway...

It's nearly 5 am here in Europe and yours truly needs to go back to bed for a couple of hours before headin' out to the site, but man I loved getting this all off my chest, sorry I was so long-winded...
Everybody needs to read or re-read the above, written by slimvintage. I am not the only one who feels the need to point out problems. The problems will not go away by praising the staff or by lambasting slimvintage and myself.

Elyot, I feel much the same way. I don't think it was meant to be rude and I do feel certain that the issues that were brought up were to make the site better. However, I don't entirely support using the Forum as a way of bringing the issues to mgt's. attention. What is done, is done.

First and foremost, I am here to relieve stress and watch the videos. Other than who is starring in the video segment, I usually don't read a whole lot more. I think that is because I tend to be stimulated more through visual and tactile response. Being dyslexic, I seldom read more than I need to. So, it is pretty obvious I could care less about proper spelling and or grammar. I feel like I am getting more than my money's worth as a member. In fact, I am very surprised at what we do get for our money. As far as I am concerned, these guys at Broke Straight Boys deliver and then some... I really think that David and BJ are skilled photographers and cameramen. They also have a lot of awesome people skills. It is evident by how easily they win the confidence of these straight boys to get them to participate in gay sex of any kind on camera for the very first time. David and BJ always deliver for me...

Allow me to digress momentarily. Many Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered people struggle with being respected in their occupations, in their families, and within their own communities. Therefore, many Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered people tend to work three times as hard to be considered half as good in society today. Compound that with living in a country that does not acknowledge that Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered people should have the same rights as straight people. I feel that it is because of this kind of political pressure we are forced to walk on egg shells in public sometimes. Wow, after some of the posts in here lately I feel like we need to walk on egg shells from the spelling and grammar police too. Is there no where a Bisexual guy can let his proverbial hair down and relax with friends? LOL (Just kidding, don’t pounce on me.)

Some members are upset about misspelled words and poor grammar. :w00t: However, I am also seeing that this is not a major issue for everyone in the group because a lot of us are here for the pure entertainment value and may not understand the obsession with spelling and grammar. Also there is the issue that some scenes are out of sequence and that there is an issue as whether or not these guys are really Gay or straight. I really feel like David addressed these issues very well. So, what I am reading is that some members are asking for a higher degree of professionalism so they can feel proud being a member of Broke Straight Boys

When I first read the original posts in this message thread, I felt like some members were being cruel to the staff. I realize now that was not their intention. It is important to be mindful that communication whether written or verbal needs to be open to accomplish anything. When communication comes across aggressively, everyone seems to get defensive. People shut down and nothing good gets accomplished. “They take their toys and go home.” Hence, the issue remains unresolved and people go away despising each other. We need to remember that we all have feelings and emotions. We also need to remember there is a difference between assertive and aggressive communication.

A suggestion, that might help, is taking these issues up with studio mgt. directly in pvt. message format first in the future. Who knows, maybe they did. It just seems like a lot of to do about a few minor errors in judgment to me. Anyway they made their point and I made mine too.

I am dyslexic. I am here for fun and entertainment. If spelling and grammar check does not catch my errors. Please, understand it was an accident. Thank you…. LOL

Here is something that might help everyone, if they choose to use it.

Ever since I saw this post, I now type 80% of my responses in MS word first. Then I run spelling and grammar check. Then cut and paste to post. It is not 100 % effective, but it does catch a lot of major errors. And it is not a lot of extra effort. Now back to having more fun...

Yes Jayman, the English language is a beautiful thing, an art, pleasing to the ear and very majestic when done correctly and properly, as it should be. And yes, I think everybody has made their point by now. I appreciate and respect your sage advice.

I'm not offended by any posts that are made here. Again, some will love the site and others may hate...I have stated time and time again that many of these boys are curious and experimenting with there sexuality. When we do get a bi boy or gay boy....we do disclose there sexaul perference. If those boys that come here and do gay porn for the first time and go to other studios to continue to pursue doing gay porn...we have nothing to do with that...its the business. Models want to make $$$$ and thats the bottom line. If a "curious" model comes here and films, likes it...likes the money...then we can't offer him anymore work. That "curious" model is going to move onto another studio.

As for the grammer and the spelling. Please don't bash me. I DONT WRITE THE TEXT! If you have issue's with the text please privately email Mark. He is the person responsible for that part of the site. I deeply apologies for all the grammer and mis-spellings. I think Mark is well aware of the issue and I think its getting better.

As the producer, I deal with the talent and I film the scenes and we do some editing here...then the content goes to Mark and he does the rest. Running websites is a very, very hectic business and there are many people behind the scenes. We rather place the content up on the site for our great members to enjoy. I know we should be taking better care of the text and grammer and spelling but we upload the video footage fast so you guys and some gals can enjoy the site and what we offer. Mark and I are aware of the issues and we are working on it.

And I refuse to walk on "egg-shells" :)

Cease Fire my friends. Lets tone down the rhetoric a notch or two. Lets all take a deep breath and count to 10. Everybody got sidetracked about spelling and grammar. The first posting on this thread never mentioned spelling or grammar. Go back and take a look at it. Nobody ever really addressed the main issue in that first posting: Why would a gay guy who has previously appeared in gay porn, who is obviously gay, come onto Broke Straight Boys and say "I am straight" or "This is my first time doing anything with a guy." My original point was simple: the models should tell the truth. Ok, I understand they use screen names for privacy and security reasons, fair enough. This is supposed to be reality porn so there should not be any acting or scripting. The episodes should also show the date of the filming, not the date it is uploaded to the site, or it could show both. Sec. 2257 of the U.S. Code requires that the studio keep detailed records of filming dates, who was filmed that day, the location, etc. so the date of filming is not hard to come up with. Some of those scenes where the model supposedly gets all upset and indignant and acts like he is going to walk out are obviously scripted, and the acting is not convincing. I have no doubt that it may have happend a time or two, but I suspect rarely. I also find it hard to believe that the models would believe that "We are only filming this for the girl to look at, nobody will ever see it." Come on. Blu Media, Inc. would be in lawsuits up to their ears if those boys were told that and then the stuff appeared on the net. Those boys have to know what they are getting into before the camera starts rolling. They have to know full well what is expected from them and that the film is going to be posted on the internet. The Q&A at the beginning of each episode serves no real purpose because most of them make up total fiction about who they are, where they are from, what they do for work, or where they go to school, etc... I point back to Alan, who I mentioned in another posting. I said I would pay $500 if Alan was really an engineering major at Cornell. Nobody has challenged me on that yet, probably because we all know that he is neither a student at Cornell nor an engineering major, he is a professional porn actor and his DVD's are available are over the net and he was that way before he got to Broke Straight Boys Google is an amazing research tool. If Broke Straight Boys is going to hold itself out as a reality site using amateurs, then that is what it should be. Otherwise don't advertise it that way. If it is going to be fictional fantasy, that is fine, no problem, just tell everybody up front that this is what Broke Straight Boys is. Who can disagree with that?

"Does This Make Sense To You" My 2 Bits Worth

Take this post as a grain of salt or my 2 bits worth. I have read all the posts on this thread and while some of them have been on point, others may have gone off on a tangent.

I too am very anal retentive about grammar and the use of the English language....I used to look at the narratives for the episodes and think to myself WTF! Who's the 5 year old that's writing this stuff. For me, it had to do with "professionalism", not the episodes, they speak for themselves.

I used to get frustrated about the sequencing of the episodes because we all got a kick out of watching the progression of the "models". Then I got frustrated because the photos accompanying the episodes did not match the film. I had to ask myself, what else was left out or "edited" and what am I missing.

I have looked at other advertisements for Broke Straight Boys and saw what I was missing and had to wonder why. For example....The anticipated Dustin/Austin fuck shoot. What apparently was edited, was Austin getting fucked doggy style and getting fucked "sidesaddle". These positions were left out of the Broke Straight Boys episode but advertised in other Broke Straight Boys areas.

One other episode for example was Tyler and CJ. The advertisement and pictures showed that Tyler would top CJ and then for a little more money, CJ would top Tyler because CJ needed the practice. It showed they "arm wrestled" for who would be top and Tyler beat CJ!! It even showed a picture of CJ behind Tyler in the doggie position!! The advertisement further showed Tyler behind CJ licking his ass. None of this action was shown in the episode we were shown on Broke Straight Boys Why not?

But....I digress and I have managed to wander off point. Am I frustrated by a multi-faceted/multi-sited Company that appears to lack professionalism in some areas....yes I am....to the point of comedy....Do I like Broke Straight Boys and associated sites....yes, I do....Will I continue to watch and wonder what will happen next....probably.

So now that you've read the ramblings from a loose leaf notebook, you can take it with a grain of salt and a thanks for letting me put in my 2 bits worth. :001_tongue:

Thank You. Thank You. And Thank You Again.

I didn't write the text either but I know it is pretty bad. Everyone is super busy so we just need someone to proof read it. Sorry for the text but it will get better and all get fixed.

Mark
Mark, it is not just the grammar and spelling, that is trivial compared to the other issues raised in this thread dealing with episodes and models. Read the post by richardnoggin869 above as well as the long post from me, also above.

I think there's a pvt. post on the way to Dave regarding an offer to proofread. I would love to proofread the texts. I could get 'em back to Blu in an hour. I love to do that kind of stuff because of some intrinsic flaw in my dude gene and a double helix in my nerd gene. Chromosomally I am into language.

Moreover proofreading doesn't change anything except errors in grammar, syntax and spelling. As Jay says, much of it can be done with spellcheck. The essence isn't touched by a proofreader, he just chops the fluffs.

rswaim feels like he's been jumped on. He's a brilliant guy and has stuck his neck out on issues he feels are important. In the last couple of days we've exchanged a few messages and he's got an awesome intellect and a beautiful inquiring mind. He's cute and blond and I would love to fuck him so much, but I really disagree with him that Broke Straight Boys ought to be more transparently real. Just as I like to juggle language and find the fluffs and inconsistencies, I love to pick up on the ones in the actual filming. The filming of the episodes and the subsequent mounting are what are real. The guys' sexuality and the "stories" they tell are there to comply with the concept, cool, but the way the whole thing is put together largely while the cam is rolling, how the different angles are spliced, often in an interesting, handheld jumpy way, are what I love. Especially trying to interpret the way the people behind the camera and the boys on the bed subtly interact, I love that.

The texts may or may not need a lot of proofreading, and they may be getting better anyway just by having a bit more time taken over them, or with staff who have better writing skills handling the brief. Anyway.

Love, the wannabe proofreader lol

Again..this is a reality entertainment site. We interview each model before they appear on the Broke Straight Boys and/or College Boy Physicals sites. When we decided to hire a model...we fly them into South Florida, house and feed the models. We pretty much get to know the models. The models we do hire, the majority are struggling college students. These college students that you see online, are studying some amazing stuff. For example, When Ajay was doing his scenes for Broke Straight Boys..he took his money and was paying for his nursing classes. We didn't have Ajay on for a while because he was going to school. Once he graduated from nursing school, he became a nurse...however, he still enjoys doing porn because the extra money sure does help. This is why you see Ajay on College Boy Physicals.com because Ajay "as the nurse" brings in some validity to the site.

As for the other AJ, yes...he was going to Cornell and studying but then he changed majors and wanted to go into the medical field. AJ is a very smart guy...but unfortunetaly couldn't afford the payments to school and he got frustrated with studying and working full time and not having money so he stopped going to school and taking break.

Now with this being said, I'm kind of insulted by some of your remarks regarding the models. NOT all the models are "professional" porn stars and your statements are way off base! 90% of the stories they tell or true and sometimes, due to privacy issue's, we don't tell the whole story and yes we do change the names of the models and give them stage names. We do set up the standards and tell each model before we hire them what is expected of them when we film. We listen to the models and find out what they are willing to do and not willing to do. I refuse to force a model to do something that is against there will. If they feel uncomfortable doing this type of adult modeling...then the model is not obligated to work with our studio and/or we will not hire them. We turn a lot of models away.

As for the the models from the earlier episodes of Broke Straight Boys, since we were new at this and we just started..we had to rely on gay for pay type of models, this is common in many sites you see. For example, Jake Cruise, Sean Cody, RandyBlue, NextDoorMen, Circlejerkboys, Corbin Fisher and many other sites use "gay for pay type models"...now I know its hard to believe, but these guys who are gay for pay truly don't have sex off screen with men just for fun. They are hustlers...they all have girlfriends, some have kids but to make a few $$$$$ they will have gay sex only if someone is paying them. If not, forget having sex with these type of guys. This is the case with guys like Brad Star, Jarrett Fox, Damian Cross, Phoenix aka Sabastian. However, those models have been filmed in the early episodes. We have learned a lot and we have been hiring guys that you have never seen before...however, if a guy comes to us and he's bi with very limited experience...and we film him for the first time and he enjoys the work and the money and we don't sign that model as an exclusive or he does not want to sign an exclusive and we don't bring that model back, the model usually goes to another studio, that is our loss and the nature of the business. We have NO control over this when that happens. So if you happen to see a model that appeared on Broke Straight Boys and then on another site...then its one of those things that just happen and its the nature of the business. The stories you hear are very close to real. When we do have a model appear on the site for the first time I get to know that model prior to filming and find out there story and situation, then at that time...I ask the model what I can ask an not ask about him when the camera is rolling. When the camera is rolling I speak and interview the model so our members can find out more about the new model.

Again, with this being said....you can sit on this forum and "preach on you soapbox" but you have NO clue how the industry works and YOU are not dealing with models and running a production studio with a membership site dealing with all types of members wants and needs. Again...its like a restuarant...some people will enjoy it...and others will not. Overall, we give a great product, we give EXCELLANT service as well as we treat our models with respect. WE have a great reputation in our industry as being one of the best studios around...we have a great talented team and we all work very hard to bring you this form of entertainment...are we perfect...NO! Are we ANAL, NO!! We are not. Are we going to make mistakes...YES! However, you can either enjoy the site...or you can sit here behind a "screen name" thinking you "know all the answers" on this forum and pass judgements and make false statements that are not true about this site and the models that appear on this site. Since you don't know what happens behind the scene, you have NO experience in this business and your making major issues regarding the validity of our models, spelling and grammer and when we place episodes up on the site and in which order....if this is the worse thing we are doing...then we wouldn't be one of the top rated sites on the internet, our College Boy Physicals.com site is the number 1 GAY medical fetish site on the web and we have been nominated for a cybersocket award. We are also working on other sites as well and we offer a great value of what your getting. Broke Straight Boys has very high ratings, we have won awards for our site and we are doing better then some of the other top rated porn sites on the web today in addition we have a very, very loyal following...so its obvisouly the masses like our work...and I thank each and every person for supporting us and we appreciate everyone's membership. Why people love Broke Straight Boys..I don't know...everyone has there reasons...but it seems there reasons are good enough to be great members and support our site oppose to other sites on the web today. Others that don't like the site, don't care for our content...there are plenty of other sites on the web to belong to and enjoy...there is something out there for everyone  and that is the beauty of porn.

Enough said....I think I have said my piece and again, if you have any specific questions regarding a specific model or shoot you can either email me privately or you can post up on a thread and will do my best to answer your questions. If you have questions about production and models...please contact me directly...if you have questions about the site, please contact Mark...you have two individuals that can answer your questions in regards to this site.

Good Day!!!

Bravo David,
It is very easy for some to sit here a complain about everything because it's not the way they would do it. My feeling is that, "until you walk a mile in someone elses shoes don't bitch about the walk."
David, you Mark and the rest of your staff, the Models all are to be congratulated because you do give awesome service and are the best site around. I love the content and give it to me in whatever order I don't care. Spelling and grammar who cares, I care about getting to know the models and how they interact with each other, and the action they provide for MY entertainment. What some of the Models go through for OUR entertainment may not be what they would normally do, it doesn't matter to me if they are gay, straight or bi. What matters is they are providing a service to us from their actions, and their bodies and to berate someone for it is just not right.:glare:
So if I did not like the content I was seeing I would go to another site.
For me David and the boys are the right fit and am proud to be one of the loyal members of this site.

One thing that is mega cool about this forum is the level of intensity and the passion expressed about the issues that have been bubbling up over the last few days. I said before that some of my own stabs at guessing what was going on behind the scenes were a result, exactly as David says, of not knowing what was going on behind the scenes.

rswaim is really taking a drubbing at the hands of the management. You guys actually don't have to put him down so severely. For the very reasons that you outline in your last post, (the reputation of the sites within the industry and among consumers for example) I'd have thought you could give him more leeway than you are since you feel secure in your methodology, creativity and practices. But one thing I do like is the fact that what Dave himself is saying has evolved over the past week. Earlier his message was not to take the site too seriously, but to loosen up and look upon its content as just entertainment. And now he has gone deeper and let us in on the mechanisms that go into recruitment, interviewing, establishing limits and filming. I can take the product more seriously, as entertainment, after reading his last post.

I love this site for what I suppose are all the wrong reasons, mainly it's un-slickness. Mark and Dave say it's gonna get better, but that would mean to me that it would stay the same. Dave would crack up every now and then with his amazing (dirty) chuckle while filming, the recruitment operation would keep on getting more of exactly the same breed of hotties all through next year that have been making their debuts during this one, and the guys' "stories" would stick as close as poss to what's actually happening in their lives. But certainly not that the set be changed into something more posh, that that sofabed EVER be changed for some other platform for the sex, or that any of the "hand held cam" feeling and dodgy splicing, should ever be lost.

(If the sofabed ever has to go, you should auction it off on eBay, it would make thousands, especially with the pink slipcover. And throw an awesome party with the proceeds.)

I just want to let you know...that I hate the pink slip cover...as you don't know...my partner is name Eddie and he picked the "pink sheet" and he states its not "pink"...its salmon colored...just an inside joke...but we should auction off the futon... and burn the "pink" slip over...LOL.

I agree 100%!!!!

I'm getting a courier to collect the salmon colored slip cover, just give me the address, and don't fuckin' wash it between now and when he gets there.

Dave, do you remember mentioning to the first models who fucked on the pink sofa that you'd (Eddie had hahaha) done some redecorating? There was a pause and THEN you asked those guys if they LIKED it. I cracked up. They looked at the pink cover and then looked back at you, man it was priceless.

LOL, I remember that too. Funny as all get out.
But seriously some members are taking stuff way to the extreme, people I happen to like this forum and would hate to lose it over people taking pot shots at others over stuff like grammar and spelling. People please this is not rocket science it's porn get over it!!!!!

Nit pickers

Good Day!!!

David,

Having a life I don't spend a lot of time looking for things that are 'wrong'. I am a member because I like the models, tone and style (my film prof would be proud of me using those terms) of Broke Straight Boys I don't like all the videos, I don't like all the models, but I do like the variety of the guys and their willingness to experiment. Just want you to know I am a satisfied customer and don't feel the urge nor have the quaifications to tell you how to run your business. Than ks for doing it.

OPEN FORUM...noun

***************Let us ALL step back for a moment and read, not just look, but READ.***************

FORUM: a. a meeting place for discussion of matters of public interest or a means through which such discussion can be conducted; b. a public meeting or assembly for such discussion; c. a discussion of a public issue or other serious topic by a select group. < L: public place

Now we know what the actual definition of a Forum is. If I'm not mistaken, this forum was set up for an honest open expression of ideas and opinions. (Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one, and they all stink) :001_smile: We have a divergent group of members here on the Forum. Nitpickers, naysayers, second-guessers, one-line opines, anal retentives, and of course a cadre of sycophants, who wouldn't say shit with a mouthful. Through natural selection and the tenor of their posts, we all know who they are....but it makes no difference....it's an OPEN FORUM....that's the beauty of it.

To try and close this post and be a decent human being, I have only one problem or concern.

No hard feelings Dave, but when you stated in your post, "Does This Make Any Sense To You" (and this is literal not verbatim) if you have any problems or concerns, private me or Mark. In effect you are saying, it's none of the Forum's business and don't take the time or Forum space to discuss it openly and see what anybody else thinks. The Forum is what a Forum is....open, free, and honest discussion of any topic, with other members allowed to express their opinions....good or bad.

This is how a Forum grows and matures....healthy, open discussion, without recrimination (or privates).
