Second Lucas Behind The Scenes

@ grace : the original longer video was, not the current edit.

I don't think BlueMedia would like to put themselves or Lucas at risk by having it up here, even in the forums.

Maybe Lucas can discuss it privately with the members he engaged.

Jules, do I have this right? You watched the video when it was initially put up and despite the assurances from management that nothing was changed except copyright infringement issues and the watermark added, other changes were made, specifically some of Lucas' remarks?

@ grace : yep, but I would deny the original video ever existed and that this thread is the product of evil doers as the contents were not suit-proof.

It was a bold experiment in reality BTS, not scripted or carefully rehearsed with softball answers like those thing usually are and it backfired.

I think Lucas is okay with the information given but it should not have been made public. Which BlueMedia should have admitted to.

I think the whole thing rightly gave them pause about the TV thing they have planned.

I am not sure how we would be at risk so forgive me for not understanding that comment. All I can say is that I was obviously there during the entire filming and I watched the edit many times before it went up and nothing was altered or left out. My entire purpose of doing the BTS is to allow the members to really know the guys behind the porn. Of course like everyone, none of us are perfect but I will tell you this. BluMedia prides itself in the realness of our team. We don't sugar coat the BTS and there isn't a script when we film. Many members that have been interviewed by me on the tour can attest that I don't do scripts. I would rather catch the true reactions from people and a script doesn't allow that.

I checked the dictionary and as I suspected the legal offense you really warn of here is "slander". Libel refers to impugning someone's character through the written word of a newspaper, bulletin, blog, etc. Slander applies when it is done through the spoken word. We may have a few lawyers in here who could correct me if I'm wrong.

If I'm interpreting you correctly Jules, you're saying that they were less than completely truthful about editing more out of the original interview. You seem miffed about that. (As many of us in here might be.) Yet you also seem angry that they edited/censored the video. But then in the next breath you enumerate all the reasons why they had absolutely no choice but to censor some of the things said in order to avoid lawsuits. It's not admirable to be dishonest, but I can forgive them in this instance if indeed something was altered. You basically make their own case for them in the absolute necessity of editing the interview.

If something said in a BTS interview casts the model and/or the site in a very bad light...I would expect them to edit/censor the unflattering (or potentially libelous) dialog out.

I see no grand conspiracy here. Only an example of CYA., (It's a medical term used by nurses and doctors.) lol The site has every right to portray itself and its models in the most positive light possible.

Hey, guys,

I just wanted to say "thanks" for this wonderful interview ~ I enjoyed it greatly. Sha, you are a wonderful and sensitive interviewer - and I can see why all those who have met you, adore you, so much!

Lucas, you are an exceedingly charming and articulate person, and it's wonderful to make your acquaintance: albeit, virtually! I really appreciated all of your reflections, and, as others have said, your thoughts about life, and some of the big questions that figure so largely in ALL our lives.

Also, Lucas, I was sorry to hear that you had difficulties with your education in the past. But, as someone who used to teach university (political philosophy), I feel confident in telling you: if your writing skills are HALF as potent as your ability to express yourself orally, you will be a FANTASTIC student. So, please keep pursuing this dream of yours, and it will come true! And, welcome to the site and the board, it is a pleasure to meet you :-))))

Ms. Kianna, if I read you correctly, I am totally with you on the question of monogamy ;-) Though of course I appreciate male beauty of all sorts, I have been fanatically monogamous. . . ever since I was in grade-school! (One boy at a time, for me!) But. . . I am one of those gay guys who (even though he doesn't particularly act or seem particularly "gay" - the women at work are always trying to set me up with some hapless girl - LOL!) I probably THINK more like a girl, than is entirely right ;-) (Hopeless romantic, that's me ;-)))

But I think we ought to cut Mr. Weston some slack on this one, because, as I recall - very few of my male friends (straight OR gay) were ready to settle down and be committed to one person exclusively, before they were 30. But. . . most of them. . . after they reached that magic age, started to view life a little differently, and see how comfort, companionship, and, yes, LOVE - - - make a big difference, in life. I give Lucas big credit, and plaudits, for acknowledging that he hasn't yet experienced that kind of all-consuming love, and that people DO change tremendously, with a little experience of life. (In my experience, men are just a little slower in coming to this realization, and appreciation of love and fidelity, than women ;-) But. . . all in good time, for Lucas - he seems so nice and genuine, to me, I am sure he will be OK.

Last, I want to thank the Broke Straight Boys/BluMedia team for putting a new emphasis on these BTS videos. They are really special, and help us appreciate the models as the interesting (and frequently wonderful) human beings they are. I am looking forward to many more of them!

"A" XOXOXOXOXOXO

I have to concur with much of what you said Ambi. Lucas is indeed a work in progress. I see him going very far in life. He may still have much to learn on some levels but he will also have much to teach others based on his life experience as he moves forward.

I also want to thank Broke Straight Boys for giving the BTS section a much higher profile. To say that it enhances the membership experience by getting to know the models as flesh and blood human beings is an understatement. :)

They promised me an interview with Lucas, and that's what I got. A good interview, short, but it went deep. And I like Lucas, honest, no bull, clear opinions and his look on life as he sees it now.

Lucas is so right. Sail on the wind of today, yesterdays wind is of no use, and tomorrow could be windless; sail on the wind of today.

PS: Did not see wrinkles around your eyes Sha, (they were in your neck from twisting your head : -) Why not sit next to each other next time, like in the talk shows?

Loved this interview!

PS: Sha you look so much younger on video than on your Avatar!

I couldn't agree more Tampa. The reality aspect of Broke Straight Boys is what makes it feel different for me than any other site I have viewed porn videos on, and this new BTS featuring the incredibly talented interviewer Sha brings the whole "Broke Straight Boys experience" up several notches higher.

Leave him alone, Jon. He is right.

How is he right ? Sure you were fortunate to see the original video before it was removed to get a logo taken off a mug but to start throwing accusations of libel etc jeez... If that was the case then we would all be throwing libel suits at each other. Come on guys/girls lets get back to reality - this is a forum for members only. You have to pay for membership to get into the forum so how can someone issue a libel suit - but you are guys are in America where anything can happen. Which is even more amazing because the person that started all this libel shit is from France.

Jeez, and I thought Kru was mad

Thanks, jon, for talking down to a newbie like me, as I had the impression only Seniors were allowed to yell at each other on the forum. :)

Leave him alone, Jon. He is right.

That is very chivalrous of you, Ms. Kianna. Thanks for protecting my honor. We know how Anglo-French relations are not always the best...

As English is not my first language, mistakes are going to be a mile a dozen, sorry. Thanks Tampa for the vocabulary lesson, I had no idea about the difference in terms.

I'm only mad at BlueMedia for being so careless in the first place in their handling of BTS material, which should always be run by their legal department first (if only to make sure trademarks are sufficiently obscured/blipped).

The fact that they did not do it when the original interview was obviously inflammatory/raised so many privacy issues is really puzzling.

I worry for the safety of the company, especially if they unroll their years-in-the-making TV site, which has the potential to be the biggest "revenge porn" experiment ever. I would not want the Broke Straight Boys site harmed, as they seem like such a wholesome bunch.

I would especially hate being deprived of models like Colin or Blake, pron fan that I am...

Welcome to the forum Jules! In general members here are a bit more inviting...

Yes Jon, I saw it when it first aired, and evidently so did Jules. I hate that this exchange is his introduction to Broke Straight Boys, so can we just let it go now, please?

Welcome to the forum Jules! We really are like a family here, through the good, bad, ugly, HOT, boring, serious, and quirky. I really hope you will join us on some of our fun and playful threads.:welcome:

Thank you Robert, thank you Ms. Kianna, for the official welcome!

First, jon, I love the smell of xenophobia in the evening (as we are both in Europe, daytime to others).

Second, let's play-act a little scenario here and then I'll wisely drop the whole thing as suggested by Ms. Kianna.

Let's say I'm an ill-willed member of Lucas' family or community or his brother's community as he was mentioned in the Abridged Video (AB from now on, the one that was re-uploaded on the site, with the offending trademarks blurred and the offending remarks cut), who also happens to be a gay porn fan. He/She sees an update on a porn preview site which seems to feature some they know, who looks strangely like Lucas.

Intrigued (and potentially giddy at the thought of causing pain/distress to Lucas, or his brother, or his family), they come to Broke Straight Boys and see the update in the preview portion of the site. "Gosh, it really is Lucas! Does his community know? Does his family know? Does his brother know?"

Let the gossip start!

"Oooh even better there are several BTS videos about Lucas. I wonder what he talks about. Let's subscribe (if I'm flushed), or let's ask on a forum of like-minded gay porn fans to share passwords to the site (if I'm cheap)."

And then they see the Original Video (with all the privacy details intact) at the same time it was posted intact, without the blurring, without the watermark, but WITH Lucas' original remarks.

"This keeps getting better! I'm having double, triple the fodder for gossip among my community."

Then Lucas' family, who maybe had been cool with his new venture as a gay porn star, really get pissed off about the extra gossip and they sue the hell out of Broke Straight Boys for slander (not libel, sorry everybody)!

We know how some Americans are uncool about sex (as discussed by Mr. Sha in the interview) but very suit-happy.

Does that scenario sound completely unlikely, impossible to happen in the age of the internet, in the US, jon?

Jules out. (drops mic)

(in a mincing French way for you, jon)

if i am standing at the bar and say to someone next to me that guy drinks dog piss and the person i publish my remarks to understands my remarks and i know them to be harmful/damaging and untrue, that would be slander. even if the facts are he have a thing for goats piss.
if i say the same thing into my cell phone camera and upload it to youtube, then that would be libel.
quickly removing the video and correcting oversights speak well for the site.
still confused if version 1 contained offensive statements and version 2 contains no offensive statements, then wft!
if he said something like liking to kill babies or such, then i would want to know that now before investing my interest unwisely.
other than something of the level, i don't want to know what i can never judge for myself.

Absolutely disagree Ms K. Hate this interchange !! He bounced on the thread giving Broke Straight Boys management a hard time with some crap about slander, so it's not as if it was the normal introduction to us all - Hey I'm Jules, I love your site, how are you.... He came out with both barrels burning, so he got what he deserves.
