question about new forum

What you need Jon, is for a big strong man to unbuckle your pants and put you over his lap and to give you a good spanking on your young British arse. :w00t:

I volunteer to give him that licking!

Oops, I guess I meant, spanking?!?

Kudos for this new software!

I was just finishing up on a post to Carter Blane and as I scrolled up to the preview pane my browser crashed. I just knew I had lost what I wanted to post so I started to write it our in long hand where I could remember. Low and behold, when I returned to the thread and started to post again, I discovered the "save factor." I guess I just had not read about all the bells and whistles of this new system but this auto save is absolutely terrific. Thanks guys, you are tops!

That is a great feature about the software upgrade we did. :)

I was wondering about another possible tweak we could get done to the system. When going to someone's profile page, could we have their public messages as the default setting there? The list of threads they visited most recently isn't all that interesting or helpful as the first thing you see.

I am finding improvements here and there that make this new program more user friendly. The auto save feature is one. :)

Totally agree with you! There is no good reason why anyone should want to know what threads members have visited.

Hi All

I wanted to provide you an update on the forum searching, and other minor manners.
There are a few additional steps that are required to bring you the best forum experience.

One of those steps involves a batch process to reindex all of the forum posts. It is an intense process but given the server resources we have available, should allow us to finish without much disruption. In the event it significantly affects performance, we are reviewing our alternatives. A few other things too that we need to turn on.

Will keep you posted.
