Praise and Criticism of Models: and The Effect it Has on Them

Yes, Rob. That's EXACTLY what I was saying in my post. Bravo for your insight.

I'm glad we are on the same page Glenn! Between you and Chase, that's at least two people that understood the point I was trying to make haha

Rob, I want to thank you for your response to my thoughts on this thread. Knowing that we were on the same page means a lot. Once again, thank you for raising this issue for all of us to consider. I have read almost all of your posts and believe that you are a truly good and decent guy. Be well and keep up the good work. If you guys are ever in the New England area, I'd love the opportunity to shake your hand.

Good reply Rob,
I agree with you a 100%. So many ppl get "brave" when they are on the computer and say some pretty nasty things they would not have the balls to say to a person face to face. You are also right about, "how would they fel if someone said to them they are fat, ugly, or not too smart... We should learn from what Rob is saying and follow it.

P.S.
All this hate, dislike, negativeness about Jimmy... How can anyone judge him w/o knowing the "REAL" person. Rob knows him and stated he is a great guy. I have listen to him on the trip interviews and he sounds like a nice guy. I would like to meet him some day at an event in the Ft. Lauderdale area.

You're in Great Company.

Bad manners, hurtful talk and any thing negative are all part of life. Even good people are persecuted; there's one who was even crucified, the one called Je-----. So when you read bad comments about yourself, cheer-up you're in good company.

Rob, your comments are well-taken and very true. I agree that constructive criticism done in a respectful way does more good than harm. I post regularly on a certain blog that will remain nameless, but it's known for harsh, hateful comments from posters and is very popular. There's a few posters who say the nastiest things about the models' appearance. I tend to ignore those, altho sometimes they're funny. But what's not funny is the fact that it takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there, and for that, I have the utmost respect for those in front of the camera. On the other hand, for those who subscribe to these sites and pay their hard-earned money, emotions can be strong when they feel they're not getting their money's worth. So I think that is another aspect of such behavior. Another complaint I hear often is when a model appears too often, which is not the model's fault.

But I certainly agree with your sentiment, and I try very hard to be respectful and consider the model's feelings. Most of the time my dissatisfaction is more toward the producers and directors than the model.

No, no thank you for being so interactive with me on the forum. Its great to have some people on here to have intellectual conversations with on issues not solely related to porn. Its people like you that make me stay on here!

I would love to have the opportunity to shake your hand as well

Rob..perhaps that day will come. If not, I wish you much success and happiness. It seems that you truly enjoy your work and I enjoy watching it. It's unique to have the opportunity to "chat" with models and it's obvious you like doing it. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.

As I was replying to Chac on another thread, this one came up as a “similar thread”. It really isn’t similar but it is a great read with 48 posts on it from 2011. Rob Ryder was one of the “cross over” performers who was primarily on College Dudes but did a few scenes on Broke Straight Boys as well. But we got to know him mainly from his appearances at the Pride Events which were documented with BTS on the site. And it was so sweet to see the bromance between Rob & Jimmy Johnson. Much of this thread centers on the polarizing JJ.

But what Rob said in 2011 certainly still applies today and folks should always keep that in mind when discussing models on any site. I also noticed again today, just how bright and articulate that Rob is in his writing and his insights about people. I sure hope he is well and successful in life today in 2024. And I always love reminiscing by reading posts of members of this forum from long ago.
