I just got home from a great day in Coney Island, at the Aquarium and on the boardwalk. I’ll post my pics on the NYC thread later. But first I cropped a few I took on the boardwalk. And I figured this was as good a place to post them as anywhere else.

As I went out this morning for my morning newspaper, I was surprised at just how cold it is out. It is 51 F out now which is not really cold, but just a couple of weeks ago I was still using my air conditioner and wearing shorts out. I took my air conditioners out on Saturday and need to put my shorts away now too. Today is a work day for me, and I am changing from my light jacket to a medium weight insulated one. The winter coat, and hat and the gloves are still waiting in the wings.
Last year at this time it was in the eighties. Now I have the radiator on.

I came home from work to find radiators pumping away. Nice and toasty in here.
I'm still holding out! 53 ish when I drove home earlier. Though it does help I live directly above the boiler room.

100%. I think it is very cool when a younger person recognizes a great influence from a previous generation.

And his son Arlo although not int he same league as his dad has continued in the great American art of singer-song writer and social activist.
So then, do appreciate Classical music & Opera and with respect to Opera great singers who did ?
Send some of that extra water our way, we are in drought conditions here in MA. Did get some rain over the last few days but I'm not sure it was enough to clear the drought level.
I wish I could. We in northern New Jersey have had a lot until today & our groundwater level has triggered our water pump which was replaced in the spring after flooding twice our basement where I live. Unfortunately the new pump also just went & AI am on a water watch. Since the pump closet is in my small room its replacement means another major disruption for me.

Well after needing heat earlier this week, today is warm………and beautiful, sunny going up to 75 later. I’m glad I didn’t pack up my shorts yet. A friend is stopping by this afternoon and it sounds like a nice day for a walk in the park. Next week my childhood friend who now lives in Florida with his partner is coming up to visit. I hope the nice weather continues.
I hope all my forum friends experience beautiful weather and have a beautiful weekend!

Just a quick note to say that I will be taking a break from regularly posting on the forum. I’ve been here since Mark gave us this forum in October of 2008, and it has been one of my favorite activities over these past fourteen years for me to be able to express myself on a daily basis on things that are important to me. And it has been a place where I have met dear friends, both online and in person, but it is time for me to take a break.
The forum has become old and stale and boring with not much of interest to me. The current direction is not what I signed up for. I’m not leaving and perhaps I will comment on a new scene such as the one coming up this weekend with Darron & Chris. I love David and will continue watching and enjoying his product, but this doesn’t feel like the forum that I’ve known and loved for all these years. Later……………

This is dreadful news for me. I always read what you say regardless how I feel. I respect your opinions & fantasies & your loss is devastating not just for me but your multiple of friends. I do hope you reconsider.
