It's the 4th of July, the USA's independence day. I'm grateful for all the freedoms we have in this wonderful country, but I'm also worried for what's to come. Our Supreme Court has swung too far, what was supposed to be an impartial and non-politicized branch of government is no longer. We have a justice that has already painted a bull's-eye on cases for same sex marrage and sodomy laws saying the court should revisit them. Congress is useless, they couldn't even agree that the sky is blue at this point.

I don't know what the future holds, but I ask and implore all the peeps from the USA to vote. Vote the way you believe, we may not always agree, but as long as we all make our voices heard that's what matters.

Happy 4th of July everyone! Please celebrate responsibly and have an amazing day!

I share your concerns Chac, more so for you than I as you are younger and the future does not look bright in this country. But this has been a great country and hopefully we can correct what is going on now to take away our freedoms.

With the shooting yesterday in Highland Park, following the school killing in Texas, and the shooting in the Buffalo area supermarket, it made me think yesterday. If you recall I had a close call back in May when a guy opened fire on a subway just as it was approaching the stop I get off near my workplace. It happened on a day I was not working, but it was still very close to home, both literally and figuratively. And so it can happen anywhere in this country. No one is exempt from the threat of gun violence.

And it makes me think how divided of a nation we are, whether it is on meaningful gun legislation to prevent assault weapons getting into the hands of people, or the right of a woman to decide what to do with her body. And the current Supreme Court is taking into consideration, same sex marriage and our right to have sex with the partner of our choice. Once again I feel fortunate that I am in my seventies now as the future does not look bright at all.

Those are my morning ponderings on this July 5, 2022.

I usually work on Mondays and Wednesdays but with Monday being July 4th, I worked Tuesday & Wednesday this week. Most of my friends and relatives my age are fully retired, but I enjoy going into the office two days a week, and engaging with people both in the workplace and on the phone and by email. I worked hard, but I work out of choice and not need and I feel satisfied that I accomplished something as well as keeping my brain engaged. I think I’m going to go to the Elvis movie tomorrow, with no other specific plans for my four day weekend, other than get out and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.

I heard this morning that the January 11th committee will have a hearing next week on Tuesday which is my day off, and I am enjoying watching those hearings as well. My life is not terribly exciting, but I enjoy watching the Yankees, seeing friends occasionally and I am healthy and feel well so I am quite satisfied.

That's great that you are continuing to keep busy, my Dad worked 10 hours a week until he was 74 or 75. He fell at work and injured his back, it took him a better part of a year and one surgery to start feeling better. He said to me at that time, I think I don't want to go back, I have had enough, I'm ready to hang up my tool belt.

I turned 72 last month, and I work 17 hours a week, but not physical labor. As long as I feel good, I’ll keep working. But of course one never knows what life has in store for us. But for me, so far, so good.

I'm debating if I should stop watching porn for a bit, it seems to have lost its spark for me. As Mark said in another thread, other studios are having issues getting models. I think I'm just tired of seeing the same guys over and over jumping from one site to another. I hold a membership to 6 or 7 sites and they are all just "meh" now. Maybe a month or two off would bring back some of the allure of seeing new faces.

I don’t think that anyone else can answer that question for you Chac. As with so much in life, it is individual taste and choices. I never had multiple site memberships and this has been my only pay porn site as long as I’ve been on the internet, (except for my earliest days when I joined something called “Like em Straight” during my first year of being on line, 1999 or so). But most of my friends who I’ve met through this forum are more like you with multiple memberships or at least they check porn daily. My preference has always been reading either true or believably true stories of straight guys having gay sex, but that’s just me.

But from what I read on the forum, there are the same models that we see here, doing a circuit of porn sites appearing on many of the current sites and so it is not unique guys that you're seeing here. The early days of Broke Straight Boys-1 was a time when you saw guys exclusive to this site and it continued through the original Broke Straight Boys-2 where the guys were new and pretty much exclusive. If seeing new or unique porn is your reason for your membership, then perhaps a break is in order, although I’d hate to see you leave, even for a break, as the forum is my reason for staying, and you are one of the few current guys who has something to say.
