I liked Paul a lot. Like me, he was an avid Scuba Diver and a PADI Divemaster. Paul was an excellent diver and my favorite film of his was
"Into the Blue" (2005) where he played a dive boat owner and had to find sunken treasure for some bad guys. Paul looked amazing in that
film and was in in short shorts most of the film. It also showed his diving skills.
Two years ago when I was on a research ship in the South Pacific, I was diving off the coast of Fiji and found out that Paul was diving about five miles up the coast from me. I wanted so bad to go meet him and do some dives with him but due to my schedule, I had to leave that same day. Like me, Paul was also an avid fan of Marine Biology and Oceanography. He also did a TV special called "Shark Men" where he helped tag sharks with GPS units to watch where they go in their life. He was always the first to go help in tragic times. He quietly would go work his butt off helping earthquake victims. He was an avid fan of cars, helping others, loved and rescued animals, loved his country, quietly visited the troops because he didn't want to be the focus. He was all about the people serving our Country. He was a class act!
Another really nice guy gone way to early at 40 years old.
