I totally agree about Paul! I think he makes a better top; he seems to moan better when he's in control. That said, I could watch him just sit there...naked of course!

On the issue of "tops" bottoming, as I've related before, I believe all the models should bottom at least once so they understand what it feels like to be on the bottom and NOT be in "complete control." Sex should be a partnership activity, with each member trying to please the other--not the top getting himself off at the expense of the bottom. If you don't understand what the sensations are in either position, I don't think you can really be as good a sex partner as you might fancy yourself to be. You may be good, but I doubt you are as good as you could be. Also, why should we ever want someone who may actually enjoy bottoming never do it and never find out? Part of what is happening here, if we are to believe the whole premise of the site, is a straight boy having his preconceptions about gay sex challenged. Why hold back on the possibilities? I'm sure these guys talk to each other...is it not remotely possible that they convince each other that it is actually worth it to do it at least once?

I have seen no evidence of any of the models being "pressured" to bottom. Being offered more money is not being pressured. Being told the rest of the models will gang rape you or otherwise do physical harm is being pressured. I assume nobody is holding a gun to the models head. If the people who are running the site feel that is an incorrect statement, and that models are actually being pressured into doing things they absolutely don't want to do, then please say so.

Frankly, I thought Diesal's bottoming scene was hot as hell. He was a great top, and I think he would have found more pleasure in bottoming if he did it a few times more. I was thankful that he did the entire scene. I keep pointing out that at the end of that scene he indicated it felt weird but in a good way. Mike Robbins, on the other hand, stopped it shortly after starting, not even giving it half a chance. I'm not trying to speak ill of the deceased, I'm just pointing out that there was a difference between the two scenes, and I couldn't say anything about Mike Robbins' other than he didn't give it a chance. People are frequently talking about how the bottom needs to relax and someone needs to instruct them how to be a bottom. Well, at least they try, and don't quit before they've barely started. That counts for a lot with me, and those are the people I want to see come back to see how they change over time.

In the vein of making the experience pleasurable for the other partner, I will reiterate a concern I have about Paul in that he seems to just run off to the races without paying attention to the person he is topping. I strongly disliked what he did to Damien. I wasn't terribly fond of how the fucking started out with Ayden but it wasn't as bad. I just wish someone would tell Paul to slow down, mix it up, and pay attention to the bottom if he is going to top.

I'm sure we'll have some members who will disagree with you. So I look forward to hearing some of the opposing viewpoints and the counterpoints they will raise. For the most part I agree with you here. I would say though that if it takes a particular model 6 months or more to reach the point that he agrees to bottom, then we should let him arrive at that decision on his own. And in his own time. That said, there's nothing wrong with Clay or the staff asking models if they would be willing do it each time they come in for a set of shoots, even if their answer is still no. I don't see that as pressure so much as it is asking them to do some of the basic sex acts expected of a gay for pay model. It would reach the point of "pressure" if they were told that further refusal to bottom would mean they would be denied future work.

I try to keep in mind that the 18-24ish crowd we have here is on Broke Straight Boys is very young. While that much should go without saying, it also means that their self-esteem, self-image, self-worth and even sometimes sexual identities are still often at a fragile and malleable point in their lives. Many of them are already challenging themselves to the max just by doing any gay for pay. For some who really self-identify as straight, I have no doubt that some of them might feel totally emasculated and humiliated by bottoming. For those young men who fit that description I don't see it as a fair thing to insist of them. Is a beautiful, kind and well-adjusted young man's self-esteem a worthy price to pay to get one possibly forgettable scene that might get a 4.0 rating?

One thing that I really liked about this scene with Ayden was that after it was over with, as I said, he looked "undefeated". What I meant by that was that he seemed to take it in stride at the end of the scene with an "all in a day's work" kind of professionalism and nonchalance. After it was all said and done he still had a ready smile and a sparkle in his eye. I wasn't worried that he would be require 6 months of counseling to repair his self-esteem, his sense of sexual identity and so on. Love you Ayden! And Thank You!

I am simply going to "second" Jon's post. I have really enjoyed the different points of view on this topic. I continue to enjoy this site for it's entertainment aspect. The more exposure a model gets and the better (I) the "audience" gets to know them, greatly influences what I would like to see them do next. I do have to remind myself that these are "straight" guys or at least the premise of the site. I also remind myself that, just like in a movie (theater) we tend to (or at least I do) have favorite actors/models for whatever reasons. Mostly their ability to deliver strong, believable performances no matter what character/role they are playing. The element of surprise is great and I have enjoyed that from a lot of these Broke Straight Boys models! The responses do help me to expand my thoughts and views but at the same time, I like to just sit back and watch a scene and if it strikes a cord great! If not, I know there will be another one that will eventually. Going back to some of the older episodes has also been a great source of entertainment and unexpected or anticipated surprises.
