Orlando Shooting At Gay Nightclub "Pulse". Omg!

Mike, I know this was in a PM to you, but I wanted to share it with the group. I know it was the senseless act of one crazy hate-filled guy, but the thing that I found so encouraging in all the sadness was the response of people to the need for blood. Lines and lines of people willing to give blood to people they didn’t know; but people they knew were gay. In all the pain, loss and tragedy; there was love.

I'm right there with you Mikey. I laid in bed forever this morning after 3:00 am trying to fall asleep. It was closer to 5:00 when I actually did fall asleep. I kpet getting up to check the site and Twitter on my phone. My mind just raced all night. I couldn't stop thinking about Spartans and his 3 sons. I'm pretty sure his youngest is still in high school. Now their dad is gone. My heart breaks for all of them. All of his family. :crying1:

Shock and disbelief has overwhelmed our forum family here. Spartans was a friend to all here and his murder in Orlando will forever be remembered in our very souls.

My sincere sympathy and prayers to Spartans' family and friends.

Rest in Peace, Sparty.

Good morning. I woke up this morning to a similar message passed along from our customer service folks. I'll share the message since it's already being reported here, but please take the information with an abundance of caution. As of now, the names of the deceased that have been released do not match with the name we have on file for Spartans987. I don't want to give false information nor do I want to give false hope. I'll just pass along what we know. As soon as we have confirmation one way or another, I'll be sure to pass that along as well. Thank you.

"The family is searching through his credit cards and computer and his friend who was also involved in the shooting however hospitalized told us of this site - Broke Straight Boys My brother known as Spartans 987 was murdered last night in the Orlando night club shooting. Please cancel his membership. My brothers acquaintance who is in the hospital (Orlando Regional Medical Center) said that he had several friends on the forum and that they should be notified in particular "Tampa" and mikeyank"."

I just don't understand WHY. A brother would spend so much time trying to cancel a Brothers membership on a gay porn site after such a terrible tragedy.
If my Brother were killed the last thing I would think about would be canceling a 20 dollar
a month gay porn site membership. Who is his friend giving all the information? Spartan hinted who his boyfriend was.
I am not stupid it was Drake. Can Admin. find out from him if this is all true? People must think me a asshole. But it just does not seem right.
Was Spartan even real? Tampa did you meet him face to face? They are starting to show pictures of the Dead. Until I see his picture this all seems to unreal too me.
I am sorry people I just can't stop thinking about it. I have been fooled before on this site with
with people not being who they say they are??? Pardon my writing I am just upset..

I am finding more and more reason to think that all may not be as it seems Johnny. I am doing further research right now that leads me to think this could be a hoax. :(

I am saddened by the news of the shootings and confused by the news of a possible hoax involving a forum member.

If true, the cruelest hoax of all. Not cool at all.

Tell me about it. I have already informed Chandler of Sparty's passing. Chandler might be wondering what the hell I was talking to him about...and why I was bothering him with all this horrible nonsense. If this is all a hoax, then I am made to look like an idiot. That may have been part of the intention anyway. This could all have been one more long-running hoax of "Uncle Ned in Texas" or some other imposter. Admin says they will be researching this for us. So we will wait to see what they find.

Rather than taking up this important thread with possibly feeding the ego of some other possible imposter, let's try to get it back on topic.

Thank you Johnny for saying what I didn't have the balls to say. And if indeed it is all fiction then whoever is responsible for pulling a hoax like this at a time like this is a very sick individual.

You are correct Tampa but being that I was mentioned along with you as friends to be notified, it makes me wonder who and what was behind this whole episode. Very puzzling as well as disturbing.

I agree Mikey. That was another red flag I saw when Bryce shared the notice sent to the staff of Broke Straight Boys It makes no sense that a straight brother would have that much understanding and knowledge of his other brother's gay porn site. He's a sick individual preying on all of us in here when we are tired, hurting, vulnerable and less willing to question any inconsistencies in a dramatic story. I have a bad cold. I wanted to get to bed at a reasonable time last night. Then a little before 11:00 I started getting all these dramatic heartbreaking messages on Twitter and then in PM's. So I did not interrogate or challenge the person reaching out to me. I should have.

We'll let the Broke Straight Boys staff do some research. In the meantime though this thread is intended to cover something other than one probable liar's twisted demented mind.

Here's another post from Louis:

"This just tore my heart. This poor mother could not find her son. In an interview with Matt Lauer this morning he told her they would help her find her son. Her son was the last casualty identified. His first name is Christopher."

Here's a list of casualty names with credit to Louis for finding this link.

This Couple Killed in the Orlando Shooting Hoped to Get Married. Now They Will Have a Joint Funeral

A couple who was deeply in love when they were killed during a gunman’s shooting rampage inside an Orlando nightclub will have a joint funeral service, their families said Monday.

Juan Ramon Guerrero, 22, and his 32-year-old boyfriend, Christopher “Drew” Leinonen, were among the 49 people who lost their lives Sunday in the worst mass shooting in American history. Services still need to be planned by the reeling families, but they want the two to be side-by-side when loved ones bid farewell, said Guerrero’s father, who has the same name as his son.

“I think my son wanted to do that. That’s why,” the elder Juan Ramon Guerrero, 61, said through tears. “I don’t care what the people think. I don’t care.”

The younger Guerrero and his boyfriend lived together and had been dating for nearly two years, family members said. Guerrero’s family was “really loving and accepting” when he came out as gay to them about three years ago, Aryam Guerrero, the victim’s 24-year-old sister, told TIME.

“They were honestly so in love. They were soul mates. You can tell by how they looked at each other,” she said. “It’s a little comforting that they died together.”

“If it’s not a funeral, they were going to have a wedding together,” she added.

The younger Guerrero had just finished his first year studying at the University of Central Florida after spending two years at a community college. He wanted to be a financial advisor and worked as a customer service rep for a credit union, his sister said.

“He was so much love and light,” Aryam Guerrero said.

Leinonen had gone missing after the early Sunday shooting. While a friend saw Guerrero’s body being carried out of the club in a stretcher, no one had seen or heard of Leinonen, Guerrero’s father said. His death was confirmed Monday afternoon on the city of Orlando’s official website dedicated to naming the deceased.

Leinonen’s mother, Christine Leinonen, did not immediately return a request for comment, but it was her idea to bid farewell to the couple at the same time, Guerrero’s family said.

Aryam Guerrero said her parents were one of the first to learn they had lost a loved one in the shooting.

The family rushed to the hospital, which was just a couple blocks away from Pulse Orlando, the gay nightclub where the attack occurred. At the time, they were hopeful, she said. Then she happened to glance at a sheet of paper with about nine names of victims, including Juan Ramon Guerrero.

“I said, ‘That’s my brother! That’s my brother! Tell me what’s going on,’” Aryam Guerrero recalled.

They were turned away at first but were later pulled into a room with hospital officials and a representative from the FBI who broke the news. “The moment I heard my mom yell out, we all knew,” Aryam Guerrero said. “I just kept saying, ‘This isn’t real.’ I just didn’t want it to be real.”

Juan Ramon Guerrero was set to turn 23 in a few days. His family still plans on celebrating his birthday, his father said. “My wife will cook all the food he likes,” he said. “He was a beautiful kid, a hard worker, friendly, sweet person.”

“I lost part of my life,” he added.
