I don't understand why you felt compelled to start a new thread with this same posting and then on that new thread not allow us to respond to it there.

Moreover the Broke Straight Boys forum member who apparently catfished was suspicious to me from almost the beginning of his time here and I shared my concern with mikey. He and others were enamored with this person's stories which I perceived to be just that - stories - with no proof of their veracity. That's easy for me to do because I am naturally cynical and distrusting of claims people make which can not be proven. (I guess a product of the time I spent lobbying during a large part of my professional business career.) But using this tragedy to take his catfishing to such a sick level shows the mental depravity of whoever that person is.

You mention a JustUsBoys forum member, I have no idea what you are talking about there.

I didn't start a new thread. I created an announcement that led with a direct link to the thread. The hierarchy in the software is:
vBulletin --> Announcement --> Forums --> Threads --> Posts

Announcements aren't conversations so even if I wanted to allow replies, it's not possible given the functionality of the software.

We have six different forums and the announcement which supersedes forums, appears at the top of all 6 of them directing everyone to this centralized thread if they want to discuss.

Thanks for the educational information. As I have said on many, many of my posts on this forum over time, I am a luddite when it comes to anything but the basest of basics relating to computers, the internet world, the forum world, etc. All I know is I saw something appear as if it were a thread and that is why I said what I said. Perhaps I am the only luddite on the forum, but I tend to doubt it. Maybe in the future you shouldn't assume that everyone has the same knowledge base of such things as you do, and explain that it is an announcement to which no reply is possible. Or, of course, there is always the easier alternative of just eschewing the whole announcement routine and starting a thread about the subject and be done with it.

And, by the way, you still didn't tell me what JustUsBoys is.

not trying to jump on any Spartan bashing wagon, but I stopped reading his stuff a few months back. In a story he wrote about hooking up with a straight guy in Chicago was actually believable until he said they fucked 7 times in 3 days. Come on now!!! I'm sort of snooping around to ask some questions to Tyler through some guys I know to see if this guy is real or not. Will let you know

Peter -

I don't know that we are "spartan bashing" since there is no spartan. It is nice to know that there was at least one other person who figured out his stories were just that - stories.

I am not Bryce aka Admin, Stowe, but I am a member of JustUsBoys, (JustUsBoys). It is another BluMedia site that is actually comprised of many forums and is free to join. There are links to porn clips and stills but mostly a place to share and discuss stuff among the LGBT community.

I've edited my post to simply give the basics from Wikipedia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JustUsBoys

"JustUsBoys (commonly referred to as JustUsBoys) is a gay pornography website with a large online community featuring a forum, a member web-blog system and an electronic monthly magazine.
JustUsBoys is a website that reviews gay porn from most major porn companies including listings from Broke Straight Boys, Pride Studios - CircleJerkBoys.com, MenOver30.com & Extra Big Dicks.com, Next Door Buddies Randy Blue, Sean Cody, Falcon Studios, 8teen Boy, College Boy Physicals and Frat Men.
The website also includes an ‘Eye Candy’ section that allows users of the website to preview image sets from most of the porn sites that JustUsBoys reviews. On September 8, 2007 Alexa Internet had the website ranked 4011th most popular website attesting to its growing popularity.[2]"

Thanks, mikey. I trust your info more anyway!!!!

I know that many of us we would like to move on and put this behind us. These being the final days of Gay Pride month of the year 2016, I still feel compelled to remember this event and comment further. For those of you who would prefer to move on, you are free to either not watch any of the videos or not comment. Being a Floridian I hope you will indulge me here and continue to lift up the families of those who died as well as those victims who were injured and still face long roads of physical and emotional healing.

This video was played at a local club I attended where we had a vigil of sorts as well as a fundraiser for the victims.

This video was played at my church the week after the attack.

Oh! In regards to Pam Bondi saying that her site has a picture of two hands clasping in different colors. Stating that her office had done something symbolic to show respect or solidarity for the grieving gay community of Florida was a lie. Over two weeks later that is still confirmed to be a lie. I followed her official site as well as her Twitter site for the over two weeks since her interview with Anderson Cooper. Nothing.

There is a picture of sorts of hands at the bottom in different colors which have nothing to do with a rainbow flag or gay pride month.

Here's something she posted on Twitter in response to the tragedy. Again, with no rainbow symbols to show respect towards gays. In fact she doesn't use the word gay anywhere in it. They are great words. I wouldn't object if she had a Road to Damascus conversion. However I remain skeptical that she just wanted to jump on the bandwagon when she felt the national mood of the majority of the mainstream straight public react with horror to the news. She did what was politically expedient at the time. But who can say what's in her heart. All we can do is follow her words and actions.

Here's the letter on twitter along with the photo placed above it:

"On Sunday, 49 innocent Americans were murdered and 53 were wounded in a terrorist attack at an Orlando nightclub. My heart breaks for the victims, their families, friends and our country in the wake of this horrific tragedy. This senseless act of violence has left so many people broken, with scars that will never go away.
I awoke Sunday morning to this horrible news, and like many of you, I prayed. Then, I headed to Orlando to meet up with my team of victim advocates to offer grief counseling to victims and families devastated by the attack.

I joined law enforcement. Their bravery and strength in the face of senseless and evil acts never ceases to amaze me. Many civilians also showed great courage, carrying injured victims away from the scene and out of harm’s way. Paramedics, nurses and doctors went to work immediately to treat the injured and save lives. Others answered the call by giving blood.

We stand united in love for the victims, their families and our country—with a resolve to strengthen and heal our nation. Sometimes the very actions meant to hurt us serve to make us stronger.

There is no consolation for those who lost their lives. All we have now are their memories and the loved ones they left behind. My victim advocates are helping the families of all 49 of the deceased victims file victim compensation claims. Eighty-five claims have been filed total and we remain in Orlando to help families grieve and assist them with medical bills and funeral expenses.

Generous people worldwide are also responding, opening their hearts and their wallets to raise millions of dollars for the victims and families. My office is working to make sure their generosity is honored by checking on new accounts and websites created in the wake of this tragedy and offering tips to help people give effectively.

Like after 9/11, Americans are joining together to strengthen and heal our country. This process will take time, as it always does, because the wounds are deep. But in the face of such terror and evil, we must stand united as a country—for freedom and against hate—and focus on the love and generosity that makes us great as a nation and as people."

I was not here when all this came down. This incident impacted my life like no other incident I have ever experienced. It hit very close to home and while I am still here to carry on, the pain and sorrow will never leave me.

We must not forget. We must always remember. We must continue to love our brothers and sisters no matter what obstacles are placed before us to prevent us from pursuing our lives in peace and love!

Love Rules and Conquers. hate kills and dies.

Peace,
Louis

Six months ago our community was terrorized. We still remember.
