Everyone who ever met Jimmy in person has really liked him. He's a nice, funny, playful guy. When I tripped and landed on my knees in front of him, he helped me up, he didn't chuckle. (missed opportunity?) I enjoyed his company. He showed off his macho manliness at almost every opportunity, just like he did on camera. I don't think he played a part on
Broke Straight Boys I think he was just being himself. Some people liked him, some didn't. Just like every other model.
The difference with him and his reputation is he was very vocal on the forum. We are lucky that our models are willing to post and talk about themselves. Unfortunately for Jimmy, and truly for
Rob Ryder, as well, they were very publicly both praised and criticized. They are young guys, full of pride in themselves. Why any of us would think that just because they are in the business, that they should be able to handle harsh truth, is beyond me. Some people can be awfully frank, and these guys were not immune to hurt feelings. They put their trust in us to protect and support them, and I think ended up feeling betrayed. Once you say something hurtful, no amount of apologies or further explanation can smooth over the hurt.
This doesn't really have anything to do with the above posts, it's just a thought I've had in my head for a while. Where's that "off topic" sign?
