so now I use it to my advantage - I keep it short enough so that is looks right

I thought the hairstyle looked very 70ish. I almost asked but I didn't want to take a chance on offending you just in case that was a recent pic. I don't know how closely Australia follows American trends. I heard a long time ago that there is about a 10 year lag time for American styles to reach Australia. With the internet age though I'm sure it has shortened considerably.

So what do you look like now? Hair short, long, thinning, graying? Do you still have the moustache?

Yes it was the late 70's
Some things were are 10years behind - but other things we are right up there with the US
Not too short & there is a little bit of grey but not much
The mo went years ago
