I had really bad cancer when I was in high school and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I went from being a nobody to being one of the most accomplished students at my university. I knew that if I died, I was going to have proof at my funeral that I didn't miss out on anything and that I have no unfinished business. Every day, I wake up thinking I'm not going to live passed 40. And I'm okay with that. In fact, I'm completely at peace.
