Haha I don't remember where it was, but i was watching something where this guy was talking about how Taco Bell isn't even Mexican, and the other guy was like "I know it isn't Mexican, I don't go there because I want Mexican food, I like tacos and Taco Bell is cheap"

I know. Taco Bell is so Americanized it's more like just a spicier version of fast food. But then again, as comfort food, sometimes it's just good for the soul. Having said that though, if I want really good Mexican...I go to a real Mexican restaurant. Which T.B. is not. haha

One company owns Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and KFC probably more, but here in Seattle they have TB/PHuts, KFC/TB and KFC/PHuts. Good thing when you got the munchies!!!

True that! haha and it's usually a good place to have a laugh through the drive through too

haha I actually went to one of the pizza hut ones, but they didnt serve full size pizzas. There just so happened to be an actual pizza hut in the shopping center right next to it so I bought one and came back and ate at the taco bell one!

It used to be up until 1997 that Pepsi owned all three. Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and KFC, that is. Then they were sold and spun off to a new company called "Yum! Brands". While Yum! is now a separate company, all three places have lifetime contracts to sell only Pepsi products.

I worked at Wendy's in the 80's while in college. Wendy's still served Pepsi products at the time. Pepsi had bought 2 of the 3 chains at that point. Wendy's wasn't thrilled about that, but they accepted it. Then around 1987 Pepsi bought the third. I think it was KFC. At that point Wendy's had had enough. Especially when KFC and other brands came out with commercials telling people to stop buying the usual burgers from places and come to their establishments. At that point (around 1987) Wendy's decided that to keep serving Pepsi was only putting money into the pockets of their competition. So they switched to Coke products. And it's been that way ever since.

As I say, in 1997 Pepsi sold all 3 chains to Yum!.

Just a little trivia for everyone. haha

That's so interesting to know! You know, my mom spent some time with Wendy's. I think she told me that was her first job and they still wore the "Raggedy-Ann" uniforms

LOL Yeah. The white and light blue stripes. I wore them for a time. :)

I remember one day the manager was telling another manager about this one employee (about 20 y/o) who showed up to work with part of her hair dyed blue. He got a kick out of it. So he went up to her and said, "You know... Next time you oughta dye your hair red. That way you'd look like Wendy on the logo." Her enthusiastic response was, "Wow! That's bitchin'!" LOL

He couldn't believe that far from taking offense, that she actually liked the idea. We all got a good laugh out of it.

It's always great to have you in here Paul.
