Favorite Holiday Songs :)

I had never heard that song before in my life. Now it's been rattling around in my head ever since. I can see why you like it Lpdude. And this version is so campy and cute. I couldn't resist it.

Again, thank you Tampa. Hope you enjoy these as much as I do! Manheim Steamroller is one of my favorite instrumental groups. Not sure if they still do concerts. SAw them in Pittsburgh several years ago for a holiday concert and still drag out all their CDs for Christmas. They did one, not a holiday selelction, called To Russia with Love on variations on Russian folk songs that is outstanding! Thanks again for finding these!

Thank you for finding it! It made me feel like I was 6 again! I can remember marching around in my pajamas while the son]g was playing like I was the leader of the parade band.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it Lpdude. Thank you for turning me on to it also. :)

Due to Bradley's inspiration, I decided to give this thread a bump again, since...Tis the season. haha I also have to thank a certain Robert Hill for providing me with links to most of the content.

This one is not a Christmas song but I still feel that in the spirit of the season it fits well here. Since I've lived in Madrid, Spain I especially enjoyed this one. It's wintertime and the setting is the unemployment office. People in there are usually worried and down. Of course they are there because they are hopeful that they can either be placed in a job quickly or that they will be given some hope until they finally do. What better place than there to bring some magic and uplifting encouragement for a brighter tomorrow?

I love the humor of them showing the sign on the office saying, "Se Ruega Silencio." A rather flowery verb meaning, "It is begged of thee to maintain silence."

Because they are about to totally ignore the sign. haha

Thanks, Tampa. I will have to download this one. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir excels when it comes to music productions.

Excelente, Tampa. Gracias por este video. Me dio mucha alegria.

This one is my favorite of new songs recorded in more recent times. This is the original by Amy Grant. There was a follow up rendition to this song by Natalie Cole, bit I prefer Amy's more.

One more and then I'm off to do some cyber shopping on Cyber Monday. I cannot tell you how many times I sang this one in all the years I sang with the Tampa Oratorio Society.

Not necessarily a Christmas song but very appropriate for the holiday season. This group is amazing.

Holiday Joy from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir featuring David Archuleta. David was the runner up on American Idol in 2008. David has sure grown up and matured since his time on that show. His voice has gotten even better.

I remember watching some of this segment on live tv Louis. Thank you for sharing it. David Archuleta sounds great here. :)

Wow doesn't David look a bit like Evan Parker from Helix.

This is fun. I watched Kristen Bell and Straight No Chaser perform this on the Today Show a few days ago.

I used to sing this song every year at Christmas as a solo during midnight mass. The Church is located in downtown Tampa and it was always broadcast live on a local radio station. One particular year, a friend said she would tape it off the radio for me. When I was singing this song and hit the high note, an ambulance passed blowing their sirens. You cannot imagine what went through my mind that night. I still have that tape. Every time I listen to it all I can say is OMG, OMG! lol It was just another adventure in the Life of Louis.
