I do think I’m in the minority on James. I actually do think he’s either straight or bi leaning straight. I’ve just seen things on twitter that suggest this. Seriously tho, as much as I don’t care if Ethan bottoms either, a big portion of the audience wants it. Even on twitter. Broke Straight Boys rolled out the red carpet for Ethan on twitter. They advertised this recent scene for two weeks and treated Ethan like he was a superstar. Yet one of the only comments I saw was, “I still wanna see Ethan bottom”.

I just took a look at the ratings for the last six scenes, as of the time of my post. Going from the most recent moving back:

The Ethan/Rowan scene kind of falls right into the average of the other five scenes, with some being higher and other's lower. So while there are some very "vocal" detractors, there are also fans of his scenes. My point is that there is no "right or wrong" in porn. We all have our own individual taste and we cannot make any definitive assessment of the quality of someone's work on the site. What some consider his negatives are considered positives by other's.

All of that being said, you’d thought this scene would’ve been ranked much higher considering how much Broke Straight Boys WAY OVER promoted it and Ethan for two weeks on twitter. I like Ethan but I didn’t love the scene. I also didn’t hate the scene. It’s just not his best work. His best scene is with Calhoun with a 4.75 rating and he offered so much variety in that scene. Kissing, mutual oral, mutual rimming, cum tasting, different positions. This new scene just didn’t add up in my personal opinion. He did great oral, but he was too vocal and only offered one position for fucking. Just like you and others are allowed to not be bothered by the “daddy” talk, there are some of us that hated it. Doesn’t matter if it’s a “new thing” the younger generation has started doing, people are still allowed to hate it.

I actually am excited for Ethan’s next scene, although I don’t believe for a second it’s the first time he’s hooked up with Grey. And I would like to see Ethan come back....later down the road. We’ve seen Jos Alvarez, Masyn Thorne, Lucas, Richie, & Ethan. I’d rather see James, Calhoun, Cody and others come back again before we start repeating people.

I felt like pre-Covid, on his last run of scenes he was really opening up, getting better with each scene & maybe I'm wrong here, but I actually felt like he may have been a scene or two, or maybe one more return trip to shoot more scenes away from Ethan at least attempting to bottom. Which I was really excited about. I understand many wanting him to remain a dominant top, I get it. but for me, bottoming is what I wanted to see from him at some point, at least once. If he truly hated it, then fine by all means go back to being a strict top. And if he has truly made his mind up about never bottoming, then fine I can accept that too. But he was definitely opening up to the idea. The shower interview showed that.

I'm kind of attributing this to the long break. I think he was probably in a really good rhythm with shooting scenes, having gay sex, and was probably at a point where he was really comfortable and actually enjoying himself. The nerves & trepidations were gone, and he was free to just tackle every scene head on with little inhibition.

But with the lengthy break, it's almost as if he has to start again. So my hope is that he gets right back in the swing of things. Gets back to that level of comfort & perhaps starts to open to the idea of bottoming once again. I still maintain and am unmoved in this position, that Ethan is the best thing to happen to this site in years. A believably straight model, very attractive, pushing his boundaries & for the most part continuing to grow & get better with each passing scene. This site really needs another 2-3 of him to get back to what the site used to be about. The essence of what once made this site great. Look at the interest & commentary he attracts with each of his scenes. Obviously some people are steadfast in their dislike for him & his attitude/performance in scenes. He does have a way about him that I can see why he would rub people the wrong way. But he's a huge breath of fresh air here in my opinion. And I think he's what the site needs.

I implore those in positions of power at this site to put the scouting caps on & go and find us some more believable straight boys. Please & Thank you.

Honestly, I think the step back came with the changing of studios. I’m not blaming it on David, but I do feel as though Ethan took advantage of the situation and saw a new studio and new producer as a way to step back a little bit.
