Mark, everyone, more or less, has a hard job. I've heard yours called stuff like "the dream job made in heaven" because you get to work with cute guys who take their clothes off and have sex with each other.
But on reflection I can't think of too many things more hellish than to try to run a bunch of porn sites catering to the fetishes of a group of individuals, each with his/her own specific necessities, who have to have it just the way they need it or otherwise it doesn't "work".
I would have to say that I fall somewhere in between those who have stated the good reviews and not so good reviews in this thread. I agree with some of Loganbroad's comments along the lines of the models looking cookie cutter. I don't mind a few guys with shaved heads or very short hair. Everyone knows I think the world of
Rob Ryder for instance. The "but" is that we don't see much variety in the models on our site. It's obvious to me that whoever is choosing the models to hire is really into shaved heads and tats. Also he/they appear to like the guys who are a little more streetwise and rough around the edges. When Rocco (who is so handsome) shaved most of his hair off he looked like just a darker haired version (clone?) of the other guys on the futon with him. Mgmt didn't get a say in his grooming habits of course, but we lost someone who had given us some variety up to that point.
Whoever is hiring seems to me to be going after more "local" talent. Possibly to avoid having the expense of hiring through an agency and flying them down and putting them up. I don't know that. But it's hard to believe with some of these models that their picture and application rose to the top of the stack, out of hundreds of applicants.
Stripe is right that the pacing and/or editing of many scenes does not build up to a steady crescendo. Dare I say climax?
They tend to have the slow buildup, then something happens, the action stops, there's talking, the action builds up again...the action stops, change of positions, some more talking perhaps...then it leads into the climax of the models. Some of the models are wooden and mechanical in their performances. That's something that doesn't help with the eroticism of the scene, regardless of how handsome the model is.
Mark is right that they have made many positive changes that members requested. The tossing around of cash is becoming a thing of the past. Insisting that the models say demeaning things about themselves to the camera is becoming a thing of the past. They are pushing the boundaries of the former
Broke Straight Boys by including rimming and some facials. The BTS videos are better than they ever have been. That's a huge improvement! The bonus sites are still very good. And of course we have a fantastic forum that very few sites offer.
Slim is absolutely correct that finding a balance on so many fronts, that will please as many people as possible....well, that has got to be an exhausting task. I don't long for the past and wish we could go back to exactly what we had before. It was time to move on for everyone involved. Some things are much improved. Other things still need some fine tuning. IMHO
On the whole though things are getting better...not worse.
