It was an army tattoo...he's in the army and didn't want anyone to recognize him...we all laughed because we told him with or without a tattoo...they will recognize him just be looking at his face. In the next up coming episodes, he is not wearing the arm band...we told him if he wants to film, he has to take off the arm band.
Thanks David, I know that the porn industry can be very demanding, and that you had very good reasons for making the decision that you did... I know it must have been a difficult decision. Kudos to you buddy...
However, I would like to advocate on behalf of Corey now that I know some of the facts.
I would like to digress for a minuet before I get back on topic here with some important facts. God only knows we have fought hard to get gay rights in this country. We were well on our way until the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the early 80's too. Then we had the right wing Christian conservative Republican party under the Regan administration push the issues of Gays being an abomination and using the Bible and HIV/AIDS as a plague that Gays/Bisexuals had brought to America. The Republican party got further ammunition when the CDC had misled the American people by telling them it was a disease of the 4 H's: Homosexuals, Hatians, Hemophiliacs, and Heroin adicts. All the while Dr. Robert Gallo of the National Institutes for Health and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Dr. Luke Montagnier of the Pasteur Institute argued over who discovered HIV/AIDS. It should be interesting to note that HIV/AIDS had already been being tracked by the World Health Organization since 1958, and thier studies showed this disease was bloodborne and anyone was susceptable to it. Of course then it was known as HTLV-3 or Human Lymphotrophic Virus type T because it infected T-cells. It was this kind of irresponsible/deliberate miscommunication of facts that set back the Gay rights agenda. We had too many gay men dying and no cure or treatment in site. We took our attention off of Gay rights and fought for human rights and mobilized HIV/AIDS service organizations and lobbiests to procure funding for a cure for HIV/AIDS. Anyway, it was enough to set the Gay rights movement back several years to where we are today.
Then we had the new hope with the Clinton administration. The first order of business was going to be allowing Gay men and women to actively serve in the US armed forces. The President met with so much political oposition that he was almost impeached his first week in office. Then they changed the executive order to "don't ask, don't tell."
So, back to topic. I think it was wise of Corey to use the armband while filming. And I am assuming he is using a pseudonym for his real name. I say this because whether on a public site or not he should not be disclosing his real name, for protective purposes. (again, not sure if he is or not. Although, it would be wise) By covering the tatoo he is actually removing physical evidence of his identity beyond his face. Hence, he has plausable deniability. He can always argue that it is not him on the site and the US Military would need to obtain a court order to reveal his identity. Therefore, he officially would not be in breech of "don't ask, don't tell." The law says that they cannot pursuit if he does not reveal. So, this site could make a landmark case should they decide to pursuit. I remember a huge to do with AOL being a paid membership site and some court ruling but I am not familiar with that ruling.
Having served in the US armed forces, I have seen too much happen as the result of Gay witch hunts in the US armed forces. In many units, everybody knows who is and who isn't for the most part. However, they ignor it because they do their job well and they are not hitting on anyone. There is more is at stake than when a soldier is outed that goes beyond a dishonorable discharge and possible jail time. Corey, may be a highly trained soldier with experience. You cannot replace that. Every year countless lives are lost because a new rookie steped into the place of a seasoned veteran soldier doing their job. Often, if a soldier is being discharged normally they have time to train their replacement giving the unit a fighting chance. So, I am saying it not only affects Corey's life it can affect the lives of everyone in his unit as a whole if he were outed.
Again, I understand the necesity of your decision. I just wanted to help weigh in some facts for the future to consider. Bless your heart... You all do a great job...
