Another message board I frequent has a thread by this title and it's a general interest thread where there are no digressions because there is no overarching topics. It's just a place to say 'hey, I'm here' and it usually houses short term conversations on mini-topics that evolve and change. Wanna give it a try?

Sure. Why not? Mini conversations where the subject is always changing and evolving, huh?

Since you started the thread I'd like to ask you about Baal. haha I don't want to put you on the spot and ask for overly personal insights that should be kept to a PM. But I'm hoping that you might give us some general insights into your personality and motivations. I have often considered you to be one of the contrarians of the group. (Not an insult) If one of us says the sky is blue I would expect you to pipe up and say that is more aqua then blue. If many of us like a new model or video, chances are you won't. And if many of don't like a new video, chances are you will. Etc...

What I'm getting at is how much of you just enjoys being the rabble rouser and how much of you really feels that your tastes are not in sync with many of us a good part of the time? Or do you not agree with the premise of either question?

You obviously enjoy marching to the beat of a different drummer. And that's delightful in its own way. I do want to say that I enjoy your contributions to the forum. You keep many of us on our toes. Many of the opinions and comments you throw out in contrast to the prevailing sentiment really do cause some thought provoking moments.

I do enjoy being a contrarian but I don't create these things whole cloth. If I don't disagree or share a contrary opinion, I won't post one just for show. I have worked hard to become as direct and honest as I am now and I am proud of that. I also find it near impossible to resist bursting someone's balloons and if I see someone post a thought that I strongly disagree with as if it's immutable fact according to the law of physics, especially if no one else is doing it I'll let people know at least I am on the opposing side!

Great post Baal. That goes to the crux of what many of us have wondered over time. I'm really glad that you cleared that up with such openness.

So do you see your arrival at a point of being so direct and honest in your opinions as a journey that took you a while in life? Did you start from a point of being timid and not liking it? To then reaching a point where you're much more assertive and forthright in your opinions and therefore your personality? I detect a sense of victory and satisfaction in your "arrival". Am I correct?

I enjoy your perspective baal. You usually get right to the point, and you're not afraid of the PC police. Hell this is a porn site where we watch guys get their dicks hard, and suck cock, and fuck ass, and shoot cum on another dude's face, (btw not often enough:wink:).

To me this forum is the last place where we need to worry about being politically correct. Keep on doing what you're doing baal. I enjoy your posts, whether I agree or disagree with your point.

Fifteen years ago I was a people pleaser, co-dependent and raised by a passive-aggressive mother so I was expert at that too and when I first moved to Phoenix I rented a room from a sister until I could get my own place. Jel is one of the most direct and frank women on Earth or was. If she made you an offer you knew you could say yes because she never offered something she didn't want to do. I modeled myself after that and I think I might even be more direct than her. Leslie? Well, I don't know if it's the six kids taking their toll but she's backslid from being that great role model (in that way. She's still got dozens of ways she can model the roles!)...

Sounds interesting! Frankly, the Forum has been more entertaining, of late, than the shoots themselves.

I Don't Even Know You Anymore!

You say that with so much of the Amazing Austin available? :scared:

It's forty-five in Phoenix, AZ, and I am freesing!

-13F here right now. Lovely January weather, with sunny skies.

I'd kill for 45 degrees right now!! What'd you have to do baal? Put on a sweater? :001_rolleyes:

I consider baal a good friend. While we disagree with each other on 50% of Broke Straight Boys, we do agree with each other on 90% of CF.

Contrary as he can sometimes be, he won't want you to know this, but he is a pretty good guy.

This is an interesting thread indeedy. Thanks for being honest Baal but I wont dare to say that you're letting your guard down :blushing: Actually this type of thread may let us get to know little more about ourselves and each other, which cannot be a bad thing.

I didn't think it got cold in Arizona. This has been the coldest and snowiest winter in my part of the UK for many a year. It's hardly reached above zero since before xmas. I like that affect as it kills lots of bugs and we are currently getting dry crispy days.

Most people start back to work tomorrow after the holidays so there will be chaos on the roads. I have 80 miles to travel to work tomorrow so I'm not looking forward to it. So it's an early night tonight.

Jon, I just checked. -13F here is -25C there. Cold, huh?

Certainly is Paris, but I'd still love to come over wherever it is those temps are. I love a challenge and I remember the film about Buck the dog, I even read the book but am so embarrassed not to remember the name. The film and book was set in Alaska I believe - I'd love to visit there. xx

Anyone Not Liking Doctor Who Is Suspect In My Book

Doctor Who: The End Of Time Part 2 rocked and their was even a great mini-scene-ette that furthered RTD's so-called 'gay agenda'...

Are you speaking of White Fang? Very good, but you DO NOT want to experience this cold!

I went out to the farm this afternoon to visit my mare. If not for the toe warmer thingies I can stick to my socks, I would not be able to do it! Big thick mittens, with another pair of gloves inside. Turtleneck sweatshirt, with a heavy flannel over it, long underwear under sweat pants, heavy goose down coat, and a big old wool hat. Are you getting this? Stay in England! :001_smile:

My horse has a thick winter coat, and couldn't care less. She knows my vehicle when I pull into the yard, and always whinnies and comes to greet me, but after her treats, and grooming, she's all about getting back to the herd! Selfish!

I can't wait for spring. At least I can spend several days a week with her, and she actually becomes mine again!

I just watched it on the DVR. Who was Jeffrey Noble? Who was the woman whose grandaughter(?) wrote the book? Who was the woman appearing in the visions?

Jeffrey Noble was the man in the Runaway Bride who was seen giving Donna away at the aborted wedding. The actor playing the part was supposed to reprise the role for series four but died instead so they decided to connect Donna to the news seller from the Christmas special with the spaceship Titanic instead. The woman selling the book was the granddaughter of teh human woman the Doctor fell in love with while disguised as a human being in series three...
