BSB improvements.......

I had been planning on putting up a thread for Mark and Clay about how far Broke Straight Boys 2.0 has come in the past year but hadn't gotten around to it yet. So, I'm going to just say it here.

I was one of the most vocal posters who was disappointed with the new Broke Straight Boys at it's inception. Now, I want to say thanks for taking all of the comments and criticisms about the new Broke Straight Boys and putting them to use. I've really noticed a marked improvement over the past few months and I appreciate that the powers-that-be actually listen and take our suggestions into account.

Clay has become a better host and introduced each episode with a minimum of talk and chat and instead gotten right to the heart of the matter: SEX! Also, the camera work is much better. And best of all, the cheesy things like throwing money around etc., have all disappeared.

I'm looking forward to the improvements that Mark mentioned, but I just wanted to take the time to give thanks and kudos to the entire staff.

Mark, as well you know, I have been a long time member even as far back as when you first started all the way back to 2004 (or was it 2005?) I am honestly so thrilled at how far you have come since those early days and without a doubt your success is very much deserved. I am extremely proud of you and what you have been able to accomplish and always knew even back then that you were destined for much success. Also your uncanny ability to deal directly with your customers is without a doubt UNMATCHED by ANYONE currently in this business and you will always continue to have my complete and total support whenever possible. As I have always said to you in my previous correspondence with you and from the bottom of my heart, "Thank you ever so much for all that you do for us!!" Much love and the best of luck to you with your continued success in everything and ANYTHING you do now and in the days ahead!!

Donner,

You make me envious that I didn't write that post myself. haha As I share all of your warm feelings and gratitude toward Mark. Thanks for giving Mark and his staff all of that well deserved support. :thumbup1:

Deeteedub said this so well also. I had to give his sentiments a higher profile again. If the latest scene with Blake is the beginning of new things to come I have to say I like the new format alot! It's like the set has had new life and positive energy breathed into it. Like we are entering a new and uncharted territory...cleaning out a thin layer of dust and lethargy. Which I'm sure was Mark's intention in pushing for these upgrades, tweaks and fresh ideas.

The previous way of doing things was not all bad. It was mostly just losing its freshness and becoming too predictable. It wasn't as obvious how much we needed this new injection of energy until we saw the contrast here of the old and the new. And as Deeteedub attests to, the site (Broke Straight Boys-2) has already advanced light years beyond where it was at the launch in April of last year. Good job everyone! I can't wait to see where we go from here. :thumbup1:

I'm glad to see good feedback about this. We had just talked about this days before this shoot so it was the first shoot with this shooting style. :)

Kewl Thanks Mark!

I just think it would be intersting to learn some stuff about the guys and put some not expected questions to them to see how they re-act. I know others disagree with my suggestion/questions.

This can be a slippery slope which should be approached with caution, at least from my perspective. I personally like Clay's brief and to the point intros. After all, I'm paying to see porn, not to know an actor's life history or how he is spending his money. Clay's intros usually go not much longer than 2minutes. David's could go anywhere from 3 to 6 or 7 before we get to the scene itself. I also prefer Clay's "Take your clothes off and work it up:" to David's "Take your shirt off"; "Take your shoes off"; "Take your pants off"; "Take your socks off", "Sit down and get hard and then take your underwear off". It was excruciating and not the least bit sexy. I also prefer Clay's relative silence during a scene as opposed to David's commenting on things during a scene (as opposed to giving direction) - talk about killing the moment! I took a few trial memberships last year before committing to full membership in April and truth be told the one thing that caused me any pause was the long intros and commenting during scenes. I love this site and would hate to see it go back to the "Chatty Cathy" era which was Broke Straight Boys-1.

Having said all that, I have no problem with q&a's being asked prior to any solo scene if that is what people want and they are of a sexual nature and contribute to the overall sensuousness of the scene. What Clay did with Blake was perfect because the questions were sexual in nature, contributed to the sensuality of the scene, and moved right along as a part of the scene, as opposed to delaying the scene. Also I think what questions are asked and how many would have to depend on the personality of the particular actor and the rapport which Clay has with him.

Once this is done with a solo scene, then any partnered scenes would just require Clay's short and to the point intro because the actors would have already been through the questioning process during his solo.

Bottom line for me: I just don't want to see time taken away from the porn aspect of the site for some sociological questioning - I belong to Broke Straight Boys for the former not the latter.

I can see your viewpoint, you are paying to see porn and want to get right at it. That is fine.
I am suggesting that the questions only be asked during the solo performance, not during any multiple guy shoots or duos. I just think it gives a little insight into the model.
As far as the questions, I do not need to know what they use the money for etc. I want to know a little bit about their sexual experiences, learning to jack off etc. The model should also be given the right to answer no comment or say they prefer not to answer.
As far as getting naked asap and getting right done to business, I disagree. I like to see the guys get undressed slowly, see their undies etc. In a duo or group shoot it would nice to see them undress each other. if you prefer not see that you can always fast forward.
I am not looking to start an argument with you, i am just expressing what I would like to see. It is up to Mark, Clay and the rest of Broke Straight Boys to decide what they would like to film and put on the site.

I'm also hoping that another thing Broke Straight Boys can work on is the upcoming section. It's usually blank or there is only one preview. I like knowing what two scenes are coming down the pipeline. And also I know its a long shot but I would like to see at least 2 mins of after scene talk. I'm not a fan of wham bam thank you mam and then the scene fades to black. It would be nice to know what the models think after the scenes done. Thanks

Hi that will be greatly improved here in the next week or so. :)

I'm with you on these YandC.

I liked how David used to often chat with the boys after and you got some sense of what they thought about it.

Also, MARK! Why do the episodes vary in length, sometimes being less than 20 minutes, and up to about 25 minutes? Why can't they all be, say, 25 minutes, with 2 1/2 minutes of pre chat, and ended with 2 1/2 minutes of post chat? Is it really all that difficult?

the two scenes i saw shot (not a site connected with Broke Straight Boys), after an hour, the first thing that came to mind was not, 'How was it?' ...it was more 'Thank GOD it's done!'
both hour long shots became 15 minute scenes'.
it's nice to see two thumbnail coming up pictures at the same time.

I want to shout out to Broke Straight Boys I mentioned the issue with bts not playing on iPhones and iPads and I woke up this morning and it's fixed. You guys are awesome I got to watch it in my bed before I went to work. Its safe to say I had a really good morning.

I have seen the site make a lot of changes in the last couple of years and believe you are doing a great job at moving in a positive direction. Thanks to all of the work of the staff that makes this happen.

You're welcome. I hate things not working as much as you guys do. I'm glad we got this fixed quickly. A big thanks to Steve for fixing it. :)

One thing I would love for Broke Straight Boys to do is with the bonus sites allow us to save favorites on there but I am not sure if that is up to Broke Straight Boys or they would have to talk to the other companies, it would be a great thing though
