I've spent 2 weeks with the production crew working with them and making things better and I still have a week to go. You guys are going to notice a huge difference in quality, editing and models soon. We are moving everything under one roof which always improves things. You will also notice more models will be posting. I also spent a week with the production crew in December. We have also had a full time programmer since November which has been working very hard on the new Broke Straight Boys features you can use today. It doesn't stop we will all continue making this the best gay site on the internet. I will never stop trying to improve everything. I've put a Broke Straight Boys model in a television show and I have more tricks up my sleeve. I appreciate your membership to the sites and I thank you personally for your support.

This will sound corny but I'm going to say it. The last scene with Blake was awesome. Clay did one of the best directing Jobs ever. I loved the zooming in and showing us all the parts of Blake. I loved the fact that Blake got asked questions and stayed in his underwear for a while. Just thought I should speak my mind. If this is where Broke Straight Boys Is headed im happy I'm a part of it. I have been a member for at least 5 yrs. and the improvements you have made has only made my stay here more enjoyable. I will continue to support Broke Straight Boys in the future. The only minor complaint is, I wish you had more merchandise to sell on the store link. Maybe shirts with models pics on them? I would definitely buy a few with my favorite models on them. Oh and thanks Mark for posting regularly, as a member you make me feel like you care about us and our comments.

Would it be possible for us forumites to put together a list of 10 or 15 questions that could be asked of the models on their first shoot? I had talked with David when he was shooting the scenes and sent him a list, he did start asking some of the questions towards the end of his shooting for the site.
I would like to hear their answers to the following questions, I am sure other members have questions they could add to the list.
I would like to ask:
1) How old were you when you first jerked off?
2) Have you ever been caught and if so by whom?
3) Have you ever jerked off in front of a friend?
4) Where do you usually do it?
5) Where is the weirdest place you have done it?
6) Do you use lube?
etc.
I think it would be fun to watch the new guys answer some questions before they do their solo. It would be hot to watch their reactions and listen to their answers.

Mark- I recently started a thread about the change in the members' favorites section of the homepage. You posted a reply explaining what you had done. In reply to your post, I wrote to my fellow forumites that this is what makes Broke Straight Boys special, i.e. you and your team are always looking for ways to improve the site not only for the benefit of current members, but also to attract hopefully new ones. [What you have written here about further changes is just more confirmation of my viewpoint.] I wrote further that if I had to cut back on the expendiures from my small disposable income that Broke Straight Boys would be the last to go. In fact, I said I'd beg on the streets to keep my membership. While that is a bit of hyperbole, I would look at all my expenditures to see what I could cut to retain Broke Straight Boys That's how much I enjoy the site, the members, the forum and you and your team. Mark, your influence is truly obvious in the introduction scene of Blake Bennett. The chat between Clay and Bennett was much improved. If Clay cold develop a bit more friendly approach that would be ideal. He has a tendency to be very direct and, at times, impersonal. His camera work in this scene was superb with lots of closeups and it gave the impression that the camera was caressing Blake's body. In short, it was excellent.
As for questions in the interview, there is one that would be interesting to see during an introduction scene. We all know that most white American boys were circumcised. But, occasionally David would ask if a model was cut or uncut and the facial reaction was always interesting. I have asked that question of many guys over the years and have always followed it with a question about how they felt about being cut or uncut. I have received many different answers and all have been interesting. It's one of the distinguishing factors in manhood and is a hot topic these days among new parents.

This can be a slippery slope which should be approached with caution, at least from my perspective. I personally like Clay's brief and to the point intros. After all, I'm paying to see porn, not to know an actor's life history or how he is spending his money. Clay's intros usually go not much longer than 2minutes. David's could go anywhere from 3 to 6 or 7 before we get to the scene itself. I also prefer Clay's "Take your clothes off and work it up:" to David's "Take your shirt off"; "Take your shoes off"; "Take your pants off"; "Take your socks off", "Sit down and get hard and then take your underwear off". It was excruciating and not the least bit sexy. I also prefer Clay's relative silence during a scene as opposed to David's commenting on things during a scene (as opposed to giving direction) - talk about killing the moment! I took a few trial memberships last year before committing to full membership in April and truth be told the one thing that caused me any pause was the long intros and commenting during scenes. I love this site and would hate to see it go back to the "Chatty Cathy" era which was Broke Straight Boys-1.

Having said all that, I have no problem with q&a's being asked prior to any solo scene if that is what people want and they are of a sexual nature and contribute to the overall sensuousness of the scene. What Clay did with Blake was perfect because the questions were sexual in nature, contributed to the sensuality of the scene, and moved right along as a part of the scene, as opposed to delaying the scene. Also I think what questions are asked and how many would have to depend on the personality of the particular actor and the rapport which Clay has with him.

Once this is done with a solo scene, then any partnered scenes would just require Clay's short and to the point intro because the actors would have already been through the questioning process during his solo.

Bottom line for me: I just don't want to see time taken away from the porn aspect of the site for some sociological questioning - I belong to Broke Straight Boys for the former not the latter.

If this is the direction of things to come I am liking it very much! I want to thank you Mark for taking the initiative with all this. It became apparent to me that while the site has been constantly improving and innovating, that there were mostly minor mistakes being made here and there that could be prevented with the very steps you have just taken. There are some small and few big changes that could really take the site to even greeter levels of success..

I don't want to belabor the mistakes, but things like having wrong names posted for which models would be topping and bottoming in upcoming scenes. And of course the ever important issue of finding the best models possible (in looks, personality and talent) within the salary range you are willing to pay them. After all, you can have nationwide talent scouts, recruiters, and online and print ads all over the country. But all that huge expense and effort count for little if any models who make it to the set are only average or less in those qualities.

I'm so happy that you took the initiative that you did. Getting the production and filming under the same roof as the editing department along with other ancillary teams of the site can only help. When they are separate you run greater risk of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. Human nature being what it is, if there is distance there between departments and there is a small issue needing clarification...there is the temptation to just let it slide rather than making a phone call, sending a text or email, waiting on a response, etc. Putting everything under one roof is brilliant!

Thank you so much Mark for having the foresight to anticipate and implement all these upgrades. I can't wait to see what you'll come up with next. haha You continue to keep raising the bar on quality and value for your many happy customers. I'm really enjoying having more of the models posting by the way.
