Broke Straight Boys TV - Worth the wait

the obvious confirmed still love Damien Kyle and Paul Canon and I do hope that they continue with Broke Straight Boys Their partnership I believe doesn't take away the performance that they both do. Over all I enjoyed this show because like others have already mentioned its interesting to get behind the models and see there interactions and personalities and the interactions with staff. Love the series roll on series 2 (when is this being penned to air?

I wanted to share some random thoughts about the show and some of the things we found out.

I was amazed when we found out that Sergio (at about 25 years old) has a dad who is 86! He is probably the baby of the family and his dad became a father again at the age of 61. Wow! I can't imagine how a father of that age especially would process finding out that his beautiful beloved straight son was doing gay porn. If I were Sergio I would certainly hope that he never found out about it. But I imagine his whole family knows by now. He says they are all very close and still have family meals together often. I wish him well and hope he is back on track with them and that his family has not disowned him. :/

I felt horrible for Adam! Because Cage Kafig jumped on top of him from behind when he wasn't ready or expecting it, he could really have a serious spinal injury for the rest of his life. I certainly hope that he was able to get it treated and resolved. I just can't bear the thought that he would have to give up all his dreams of going into the military or having a career in law enforcement over one stupid incident. But I know that if somebody is not prepared and he/she bending their back and spine in a certain position, that to have somebody suddenly jump on them and apply great force and weight, that it can really mess somebody up. People have become paralyzed over seemingly lesser things. It's never a good idea to pounce on someone from behind, especially when they are not expecting it.

I felt really sorry for JJ's girlfriend. She really did humiliate herself by coming on to the show. She put herself on display and then we saw how disrespectfully she is treated in their relationship. I assume that she has appreciated the money he has brought in from working in the gay porn industry because it has helped support herself and her children. But we also know she doesn't approve of him being in the industry. He matter of factly said he told all of his friends that he wanted a job where he could still go to school and play football. So with a family of one and another one on the way at the time, those were his priorities.

She surely knows that JJ is a womanizer and is often unfaithful to her sexually. But to have all of that confirmed for the whole world to see on the tv show was not something she was happy with, for sure. To broadcast to the whole world that she had a baby with him at around 15 and another a few years later...that they're not married...and that he is habitually lying to her and having sex with other women... And in so many ways, both big and small, that he could treat her so shabbily... I felt so sorry for her! The whole world didn't need to know all her personal business. Yes. Her appearance on the show did help to add drama and human interest. As a viewer of the show it was awkward and almost painful to watch, but riveting! I doubt in hindsight though that she thinks going on the show was a good idea.

I was very impressed that Sergio and the guys in the kitchen went out of their way to personally prepare JJ and his girlfriend a nice romantic dinner for two. :thumbup1: That was really classy of them.

Unless somebody in the know speaks up, we will probably never know the story about JJ's STD tests. At the very least we know one test came back inconclusive for an STD. Given his propensity for being sexually active with so many random women and the fact that he has been making the rounds of so many other porn studios...who knows what he might have caught? Maybe something, or nothing at all. I did find it odd that Sha told him they would have to wait at least two more weeks before they could retest him for STD's. Maybe a one or two week course of antibiotics had to do its job first and then they check later to see if the infection had cleared?

He obviously got caught on camera doing something in the house that was very disrespectful to a person or the company...or borderline illegal. After Sergio got so upset at seeing his newfound buddy get booted from the show...when they showed him the video footage from cameras placed around the house of what JJ had been caught doing, he looked stunned.

Of course JJ being the camera hog and attention seeker that he is, made himself out to be totally the victim. He went on to tell Sergio that they told him he would have to wait a few months before possibly coming back to the site to do more filming. JJ said that he would never work for the site again. (Some of us hope he will keep his word.)

I had decided after your last rant about Jimmy to let your comments about him pass, Tampa, but for some reason you are fixated on him, so you've drawn me back into this discussion.

Number one, Jimmy said during the TV show that she is no longer his girlfriend. She is the mother of his children but they are no longer in a committed relationship. Both Jimmy and his ex were hired by Mark to work on the television show for the drama of it. Jimmy hadn't been on the site for a long time prior to the filming of the reality show, and he was hired as he is a friend of Mark, and Mark has used him in outside projects before, and probably will use Jimmy in future projects as well.

I do not believe the whole STD scenario as Jimmy was re-hired solely to work on the reality show and I believe the whole scene in Las Vegas was staged for the show, and as I said previously it is unbelievable that if he really was going to do a scene, that the news of his questionable test would be announced by Sabrina with a desperate last second phone call just as the filming was about to begin. But it was good drama for the television show, and Jimmy performed on the show exactly as Mark had wanted him to. He played the character of "Jimmy Johnson" just the way it was intended. But let us not confuse reality television with the reality of real life.

One thing I found very insightful about JJ is that he really came down hard on the staff of the site for trying to get the models to agree what he considered to be a low rate of pay for the scenes. The way I see it, Broke Straight Boys is a for profit company. Times are hard in the industry with all the free porn out there. They're not government subsidized. If they don't stay within a budget, they fail. So of course they want to keep their costs low. Rates of pay are a negotiated process and as Denver explained, some models deserve (and get) more than others. Even those who are filming the same scenes together may be getting paid differently. They all negotiate price. The site will want to aim lower, the models will want to press for higher, and hopefully they agree and meet somewhere in between. There's nothing unprofessional about the negotiation process. I myself hate to negotiate. But I know in some business transactions that it's a must.

He told Sergio that he resented them trying to say that they are all a family at Broke Straight Boys and therefore the models should agree to lower. I guess he felt that they hadn't treated him enough like family because they wouldn't let him get away with being totally out of control. If that's so awful of them as JJ claims...then look at the hypocrisy and his own outright duplicity on display right before his scene with Denver was supposed to start. We can safely assume that he and Denver had already negotiated their rates of pay before the scene started. The site has every right to assume it has a good faith agreement between both parties on the rate of pay before filming. JJ agreed to his rate of pay. Except we now know that he didn't.

After they started rehearsing the scene, JJ pretended to be shocked at being told he'd be expected to do oral. He claimed that his agreed upon rate of pay did not include doing any oral in the scene. He used the oral segment as an excuse to reopen negotiations about his pay, right then and there. He knew that he had them between a rock and a hard place because the scene was all set and ready to start filming. That was his plan all along. He pushed for as much as he thought he could get in the original negotiations, with the full intention of demanding more at the last minute. Because he believes he's such a prize... And because he knows he totally wrecks their filming plans if his scene doesn't happen. And it worked! Knowing what a bind JJ put them in, Sha actually did offer JJ some more money so they could make the scene happen.

Then the delicious irony is that the scene never happened anyway because of a dirty test result on none other than him.

So who is being unprofessional and dishonorable here? The site for trying to keep their costs low and making some emotional appeals to the models' sense of family at the house? Or a model who agrees to a rate of pay and then tries to sabotage the filming of a scene at the very last moment...unless they reopen the closed wage negotiations to give him a higher rate? As JJ was telling Sergio how terrible Broke Straight Boys was for their negotiating tactics, as he was being kicked out of the house for just cause...that whole shocked, melodramatic bullsh** scene he put on in front of Sha and Denver was ringing in my ears too. Yeah. JJ was the victim of unprofessional negotiating tactics alright. :001_rolleyes:

It really burned me that he went off on the site so much with Sergio. When he was saying he'd never want to work for the company again and so on, I was just rolling my eyes. Just because they wouldn't be pushed around as much as Clay let him get away with in Florida? Clay had no control over him and he did whatever the heck he wanted. It wasn't going to be that way with Ms. Sabrina. (Or the others in Denver.) We know that when they sent JJ packing that they paid him for the full following week that he wasn't even going to be there! He had served the show well by bringing his trademark drama, controversy, camera hamming and mayhem. They even paid him in full for the scene with Denver that he never even filmed. They didn't have to do any of that. They could have paid him only for the number of weeks that he was actually there and nothing for any scenes. He didn't film any precisely because it wasn't safe for any of the other models to work with him.

Poor JJ. He was treated so terribly. Yeah, right. haha

And I fully admit that you may be right Mikey. That all of that was scripted and staged for the cameras... Its' hard to say with "reality" programming what's real or contrived. I tend to think there was more reality than many of us would hope for on the show. I would love to hear that some of the worst examples of behavior were fake. Unfortunately I don't think that a majority of it was.

As far as talking about JJ so much, how does one discuss most of the tv show without him? haha

Just as it was for the whole year he was here filming on the site, about 70% of the tv series turned into a continuation of the "Jimmy Johnson Show."

One of the worst behaviors that JJ showed was with his conversation with Sergio. He said " they act like we're a family then want to cut my pay if those faggots think I'm coming back etc" very classy!

You love to poke the bear, Peter! lol

See? lol After all that I spoke of above, I was actually holding back. :w00t:

I could have quoted many things verbatim that would have made a few certain people look even less attractive.

In all honesty I waited for weeks for more people to respond on this thread. After all the time, trouble and money they spent on getting this show produced and on the air, I feel it deserves more attention in the forum than it has gotten so far. So even though my opinion of Jimmy's behavior on the show is less than flattering and not all that filtered (lol), I still hoped that anything I might post would bring more people and/or more commentary onto the thread. I'm hoping to stir up a lively debate that will get many of us talking more about the show.

I honestly don't think that the TV show was much of a success as we on the forum are probably the most die hard Broke Straight Boys fans, and it generated little interest or discussion here, so I don't imagine it stirred up much interest in the world outside of here either. As a die hard fan, I found some things on episodes 7 & 8 of interest, like the romance between Damien Kyle & PC finally being confirmed, and the final scene with Mark saying that he had been betrayed by a staff member and had to fire someone on his team. With my knowledge that Clay/Shane left rather abruptly around that time, it would seem to be him that Mark is talking about.

And no one on this forum has mentioned Mark's accusation about his previous production team, which surprised me very much and I wish that someone from that team could answer his allegations. But the actual stories portrayed during the eight episodes didn't really interest me the way I had hoped, as many of the scenarios including most of the Jimmy Johnson stuff, and Denver's overly dramatic "quitting the porn business" months after he had already left the site seemed contrived to me.

Guess things that happen in the office stay in the office Mike. I mean Johnny Robbins must have a hellova serious illness to be away so long, but it's Mark's baby so guess we should let it lie - HERE.

The two issues that I brought up were about things that Mark said on his television show that is out there for public consumption, so I feel they are fair game for discussion.

Well I canceled here TV today. Not going to wait for season two_Or at least pay till it comes back. Did anyone learn anything new??
Except for Paul and Damien falling in love. And they still seem to be together. Not much of a show. All the hype and advertising could have been spent on paying some good new models for now.

I'm glad I watched. But it all could have been put in a long BTS or eight short ones. And saved a lot of money.
.Jimmy's still working must be laughing all the way to the bank. I never felt like I learned anything new about why straight boys do gay porn?
Or there feelings about it. Oh yes the money. We all heard that before. Not a very deep show.
And remember a camera is rolling. Jimmy's girlfriend new that. She must have made a few bucks herself. It was TV.
Also Johnny Robbins was not even around then. There was just not that much controversy. And if you were not a member at at least a year and a half ago not much would have made sense anyway.
Johnny left, Jimmy left, Adam left, Denver already left. They brought him back to leave again.
It was TV. Paul, Damien, Kaden Alexander,Cage Kafig all must have been brought in at the end of the show.
What do I know? When season two comes around I will join up again. But I would like to see them go into the mindset of the boys.
Whats it feel like sucking dick? When your straight. What is going through your mind when your kissing a boy and have a dick up your ass? When your straight?
All and all it was fun to see .And I'd give Damien Kyle a bonus for pushing the show all over the place.:twocents:

Excellent post Johnny!!!

Yes. Great post Johnny. I also will look forward to season two, assuming there will be one.

Yes. Jimmy's girlfriend was obviously paid something to come on the show. Who would agree to do that with no compensation at all?

I agree with you that for those of us who are diehard fans of the site, that it was rather weak on substance. It was aimed more at the people in the audience who had never heard of the site. Then it was all new to them.

Probably some of the most substantive things I saw involved Sergio talking about the fear of his family finding out about his porn career and all the grief his girlfriend was going through back home. When he realized that he was going to have to text or talk to his sister before his gf's father came running over to the house to tell his family...I really felt sorry for him. I really hope things are better for him by this point.

Of course I also enjoyed that they showed Paul going to visit his family. It was so bittersweet to see his mom who most of us adore...and then to realize that his older brother is no longer with us. MHRIP.

I don't do reality tv but I watched the whole series and I enjoyed it. As a new member (3 months or so) yes our senior and elite panelist would have been able to follow most of the storylines, and in fact possibly could have script written the series, due to there longevity participation here at Broke Straight Boys I am also sure that in some scenario this series would have answered some egging questions, and off course confirming anticipated actions.

But did I get something out of this series Yes watching the models personalities grow, challenge, interact, even bringing JJ girlfriend helped take a peek into the real life of this model. The struggles of being outed or found out by core circles in the varies models life's and how they chose to handle it. The challenges that face management on a day to day basis, even a snippet into the owners life.

Everyone is gonna have gotten something out of this, as they watch and anticipate or vision what the series may or may not entail and because of this some will have been disappointed or just happy to watch the entertainment.

As many of us have noted time and time again, Broke Straight Boys offer so much more than just a camera and a few models to either wet or choke and the TV series is just another thinking tank in providing us more (than any of porn company)

I do agree with Johnny "Whats it feel like sucking dick? When your straight. What is going through your mind when your kissing a boy and have a dick up your ass? When your straight? I wonder if the models can articulate these feelings without saying "Its all about the Money" I wonder if they know themselves so well and comfortable , that maybe "Yes I started getting enjoyment, but I would not take this act to my outside life? that's okay. Well I didn't know another guy could make you feel good?. I didn't feel anything sexual from this, but if I continue I may find what everyone else is saying?

If the sex doesn't make you feel anything what is it that keeps you on the scene- (Besides the money)

my rave but overall I learnt a few things, I assumed a few things and was confirmed correct and I did see another side to some of the participant. So roll on series 2

(see you Here Premier Youtube now you suck some of your content don't view cos I am in the wrong country - and the stuff that does sucks)

Great post

Excellent post Inspireme! And you are correct that I view the TV show through the eyes of someone intimately involved with this site, as I've been here "forever", whereas for someone like yourself who enjoys Broke Straight Boys but is still connecting the dots, the TV show could be very entertaining and informative too.

Very Good Post inspireMe...I could never make a post like that at 3 Months..I still have trouble and I Always have to edit.lol See...
