Broke Straight Boys TV - Worth the wait

Oh wow. It wasn't up a few hours ago. But if the Banff t-shirt he wore in the first vid is at or near where Mike Rizzo actually lives, then he's 3 hours behind us on Pacific time. I'm too tired to watch it right now. I'll save it for the morning. haha

P.S.

Paul looks scared. haha

Ahhhh. So funny! The freeze frames of “Jimmy John” and Sha are awesome. And whoever is cooking in the kitchen, totally unbothered during the argument......LOL. Totally loving it.

Rizzi has done a great job and I'm all caught up and have enjoyed him reviewing each of the episodes. I haven't watched the tv show in awhile so it brings me back to a lot of memories. Thanks Rizzi.

Same for me. :) While I didn't live through them like you and the staff did, it does bring back many memories of past events. And the memories and events are still compelling even after a few more years. You kind of look at them with a new eye and more awareness of the different layers of human complexity.

Okay. I just watched this one and it was quite entertaining even though (like most of us in here) I've seen it before. It does make it more interesting when you see the show through someone else's eyes. One of my big takeaways is that Adam Baer seems to be telling the truth about being straight. ;) Another is that if Jimmy wants to go after someone meanly...try to bully and intimidate them and go toe to toe with them in the house, Sabrina is the wrong one. lol She can handle herself quite well. Jimmy would walk all over Clay and maybe he made Sha a little nervous too. But Sabrina wasn't afraid of him. He couldn't push her around.

My greatest hope though is that Jimmy has evolved and matured to be a better person/boyfriend/father/role model, in present day.

I realized a little bit later that I had always hoped to find out from the lie detector test about how straight or bi Paul is/was. haha But I don't think they addressed the answer to that question with Paul. Or it was edited out. They only mentioned that Paul admitted to breaking some house rules. Like smoking pot. haha

Here's the next installment. Part 6. (And maybe 7?)

I haven’t seen the original series, so I’m only commenting on what I just saw.
That actually just made me mad. I’m just gonna leave it at that.

Okay. So this one is a combination of 6 and 7. Mike throws a lot of shade here to the staff and models alike. Mike also gets a few of the timelines confused.

For instance we know that Adam showed up in healthy shape. I think Adam did mention that he had some prior issues with his back not being completely normal before this incident. But it was not anything really serious that we knew of. He was not using crutches before the go-cart race. But right after the race Cage Kafig ran up behind Adam and with no warning, he jumped and leapfrogged his whole body onto Adam's back. That's never a smart thing to do to anybody. If their neck is turned the wrong way or their spine is turned in a vulnerable way right at that moment, even on a young and healthy person, you can really mess them up. If you do try it, you at least give them some warning first. I guess Adam was so caught off guard, and the posture he was in at that moment of walking was not good for what was coming, and all that sudden weight was too much for his spine to safely support. But Mike says here something to the effect of, "Why would you jump on a guy's back when he's already been walking around on crutches for days?" No. Adam was only using crutches after Cage Kafig jumped on his back.

I felt bad for both of them that they lost money on making a scene. And poor Adam had to eventually go home filming no scenes at all as far as I know. So the potential money Adam was probably desperately counting on making (in porn scenes) when he showed up, was not to be. Fortunately he got paid something for doing the show itself. But none of the additional extra money for filming scenes. I would have loved to have had another 3-4 Adam scenes in the archives before he retired for good. *Sigh* That said, I do love Cage Kafig. He never meant any harm. It was an accident. He was doing that as a gesture of friendship at the time. So it was a very sad and unfortunate situation for both of them to be in. Even as Adam bore the brunt of the consequences.

There's plenty more intrigue and drama to dissect here in Mike's reaction video. But I'll leave it to others to chime in for now. haha

First of all, I want to quote myself from two weeks go when I said:

For anyone who does not know, Jimmy had completed his one year with Broke Straight Boys at the end of 2011, and his last scene on the site was "Jimmy & Bradley" released on March 8, 2012. But Mark called Jimmy back to film the Broke Straight Boys-TV show five years later and also hired the mother of his kids for added dramatic tension on the show. The series debuted in March of 2016, so there had been a five year gap between Jimmy leaving the site and the release of the show.
Again the whole deal with Jimmy being "fired" and sent home without doing any scenes is bogus. He hadn't filmed a scene on the site in years, and I doubt if they intended for him to do new scenes. He was brought in (with his former girlfriend), to create drama which he did and he served his purpose appearing on the show.

Secondly, I didn't remember the bit with Bryce coming on to tell Mark and Sha that Johnny Forza's ratings were down and sending him home too. I just checked right now on December 6, 2019 and Johnny is still on Page 1 ranked number fourteen all time, so that doesn't ring true either. But it is reality TV and I accept it all for what it is.

Overall, I am still enjoying Mike's review of Broke Straight Boys-TV. There is one episode left and I will watch it.

I can see though how some newer members (or just those who haven't seen the complete original series) might be especially upset after this one. Granted, there is indeed some real drama (and real controversy) to be found here. But some of it is misleading and incomplete. Please keep in mind that these mini-episodes are sliced and diced and edited by Mike. There is much background story that Mike skips over and leaves out.

I look forward to commenting later. That's all I'll say for now. haha

Ok, I’m still mad, but I will say one thing that totally had me fuming to the ceiling. The totally unnecessary comment about Damien. I had heard he made these comments years ago, but I also know everyone deserves redemption. Damien is actually going through a huge transformation in his life and made so many positive changes. I’m absolutely impressed that he actually moved on from Paul and is doing so well at the moment. I don’t know Damien personally, and for all I know he could still share those same feelings. But it was S-H-I-T-T-Y of Mike to call him out on something he said a long time ago and btw, Paul Canon had his back and backed him up on those words at the time.
I just got a lazy, can’t be bothered attitude off Mike this episode. Shading the staff. The whole ratings thing put me off too.
This episode with Mike Rizzi was a big HELL NO from me.

I agree with you on that Jay. Also, the big blowup involving Damien where he said something along the lines of preferring not to be partnered in scenes with models of color, doesn't even happen until the final episode of the tv show. So for Mike to jump ahead of his own video series and poison viewers' first impressions of Damien with that accusation, right as he is is just arriving on set, is pretty low. And as you allude to, everybody should be given a chance for redemption and the chance to evolve to higher (and better) understanding of their outlooks on life.
