It was pointed out I was being rude by posting without introducing myself. For this, I apologize.

I've been subscribing to the site since sometime end of last year, because I'm a Colin and Blake fan. I had not noticed the forum until it was pointed out in a JustUsBoys thread ten days ago.

Broke Straight Boys is the only gay porn site I've seen discussed in a French mainstream magazine (in Culture/Arts weekly Les Inrockuptibles a couple of years ago)!

Thanks for your patience in reading me as errors are bound to occur times and times again...

(See, jon, all better now. Love, your Surrender Cheese Monkey)

Welcome! I hope you post often; I like to read posts from lots of different people around the world...enjoy!

It's not rude to post without an introduction in my opinion. How can we expect that new members know about such a rule?

Welcome again Jules. My English is not without flaws too, but that does not hold me back : -)

If you have any questions, just ask us. This is a friendly place.

Welcome, Again Jules! I am so glad you started posting. We have a lot of fun here, and perfect English is not required. :001_smile:

I am so pleased to have you joining us here in forumland Jules. So many of us came here for the porn, but have stayed for the forum.

You've already proven to be a most interesting contributor in your first few days. I sure hope you stick around and get to know us, as we get to know you too. :welcome: Jules. :par50:

Bonsoir mes ami lol. Welcome to the forum Jules. Your history bodes you well - cheeky monkey and I only live 40 miles from Hartlepool.

Welcome to the Forum!

Dear Jules,

Being half-French myself, I am most pleased to :welcome9: you to the Forum. While no formal letter of introduction is required for new forumites like yourself, we nonetheless have an informal process we encouage all new to the Forum to provide us with a small sample of who you are to further enhance your introduction. We have a thread dedicated for this purpose, entitled "10 Random Facts about you"

(Should the link not work, Go to the "Message Board" at the top of the page,
click on "General Chat Forum", and then
find the "10 Random Facts about you" thread.
)

Please feel free to share anything that would help us know you better. My own post is on page 54, entry #536.

My mother was originally from Paris and met my father(American) at tne end of World War II. After the ban on marriages for American GI's was withdrawn(following the conclusion of WWII), my parents were married in Paris in 1946. My mother's maiden name was Gabrielle François and her mother - Hélène Pognot was from Hautvillers in France's Champagne Region (just 8 km from Epernay and overlooking the Marne River).

I will be looking forward to your reply!

Sincerely,

Stimpy :angeldevil:

Welcome Jules, I get excited when someone gets on the forum from another country. Their perspective on everything (except porn) is such a nice change of how we view things here in America.

Thank you all, Beth, Robert, Ms. Kianna, mikeyank, tampa, jon, cumrag, lovelumps and peter, for your warm welcomes!

I hope I won't continue to cause so much consternation when posting : I try to only post positive things about models but can be quite critical of porn studios management, as some of you may have already read...

I did not find anything about the following subject in the FAQs about posting : is it frowned upon (by members or BlueMedia) to compare models/scenes with those from other competing studios? To discuss reaction to update previews as posted on other blogs?

The forum seems pretty free for all (bless TPTB for that leeway) but maybe it's uncool to do so.

Thank you Jules. It is always interesting to read another person's point of view, and my experience is that management is pretty liberal about allowing us to mention other studio's as long as we are not providing direct links to the competition's sites. And if we post something that they do not want, they usually tell us or remove our post, but that is unusual.

Jules, the only problem you might have here with comparing our:) scenes with scenes from other sites, is that most people here are only members of this site. Most people won't be able to see what you a comparing a scene to.

Thanks mikeyank and Ms. Kianna for your replies. I'll consider "other studios" not cool to be discussed then, as temperament seem to run high in here.

It's interesting that members would be so exclusive to this site (I had noticed loyalty being a hot topic).

Do you think it's a matter of disposable income or close relationship to behind the camera staff or to the models?

Hum, I think I just replied my own question!

Hey Jules! Bienvenue from a female newcomer! I'm French too!
Can't wait to talk with you :)

I think you did. haha It's usually a matter of one reason or the other. That's not to say that we are completely unaware of other sites out there. I myself have tried several sites over the years. I'm aware of other sites and I subscribe to a couple of others about one month every year. I stay with Broke Straight Boys because of the forum and the friendships I've made here. Also of course because I really respect those in the staff and management who run such a classy, non-sleazy site. Loyalty to the models is of course one more good reason. And importantly, I think the price is very reasonable compared to other sites out there.

As far as comparing other sites to Broke Straight Boys on the forum...it's not forbidden to do so. Many people have done it in the past and mgmt doesn't get all bent of shape. I think the key here would be moderation. A little bit now and then would probably be okay. They surely won't like it though if they feel like their site is being used to give free advertising to other sites. As one member of the staff said a while back, "When I go into McDonald's I don't see ads for Burger King." :)

I would have added by 2p worth but alas I have to earn it first and was at work. Not a good idea advertising other sites on here albeit sometimes we all fail. I too am warming to you - which is a shock considering our history lol, but if there was one other country that I would like to live in it would be France - preferably the Bordeaux region. A few months ago I would have loved to emigrate to the USA, but not now with all the crazy bullets flying around.
