Blake Savage has moved on

I primarily differ with your opinion simply because I am here. I went to work elsewhere for a brief period too. I was once just as star struck. I was fortunate not to overly expose myself and returned almost a different person that performs well. This is where I choose to work despite other offers because I feel the company takes a genuine interest in your interest and mine as well!

I imagine for some guys, and especially those who are from 18-20 that it is kind of like being bit by the acting bug. They achieve success and acclaim here on Broke Straight Boys and then they wonder if they could achieve fame and stardom by working for several studios. Maybe they could become a household name in the industry! And as is often the case when we are young, the grass always seems greener on the side of the fence. Of course only a mere infinitesimal fraction of models will ever achieve that level of stardom in an industry saturated with other great models in the internet age. But I can certainly see where any young man might get caught up in fantasies of super-stardom. lol

Now I can agree with both parts of this. First and foremost this isn’t something that anyone should be "burned" or their opinion shunned. Your absolutely right and shouldn’t give a shit... primarily because I wasn’t in any way attempting to discard your opinion merely disagree with it. You’re also absolutely right; I did work with other studios. In my defense, there was a time when I didn’t want to work for Broke Straight Boys When it was more of a burden than opportunity. I went to work for College Dudes = But then left the industry all together.

During my absence, BluMedia acquired that company and began making progressive changes to create a better site and more compassionate company. There are a lot of things contributing to the short tenures of recent models. Many of them simply don’t recognize or understand the idea of "exclusivity". Ultimately the decision is up to the model. In some cases the company chooses, for whatever reason, not to call the model back. In most cases the model leaves for self-motivated star struck dreams, but it’s NEVER because of the lack of BluMedia trying to keep them.

Jason, I think like a lot of things on here that we have got our wires crossed. Initially I was responding to Straighboycurious94 comment "I am aware they are not exclusive I just think once they leave the site they should stay gone"

With all due respect to 94, if that was the case then you wouldn't be here and neither would the kissing cousins and others who have returned. That was the point I was trying to make across.

Ahhh... well crossing wires is a simple task especially when reading text. You fail to get the direction or emotion properly lol. I love in text messages when people respond "quit yelling at me" I’m not yelling you’re just incorrectly interpreting the text. So that’s understandable. You are 100% correct that none of our models are exclusive. Back in the day this wasn’t always the case. I’ve explained in previous threads how between the recession and piracy Model Rates have reduced significantly. That is the same case with Exclusive Contracts. I’m not sure why they are becoming a phase of the past, I would guess the companies are tired of getting locked into a bad situation. Even good models go bad.

I went to work with College Dudes because at the time I didn’t prefer to work with the production team of BSB1. College Dudes offered me an inconsiderable amount of money and a one year contract, I would have been foolish not to have accepted. I was lucky though that they did pick me up. Had they not, I would have followed the same path as many of these models and worked "the circuit" as we call it. Putting out videos everywhere that will hire me.

I guess we simply fail to realize the business aspect of this industry in the early stages of our career. Remember in the beginning ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. I would say one of the bigger issues is models under the representation of an Agent. This isn’t the movies or television, where exposure is a blessing. The more movies Bruce Willis does the more famous he becomes. Quite the contrary with Porn Models, it’s all about exclusivity. But the fantasy of stardom and the promise of a quick pay check have an easy way of distorting our priorities.

I guess I simply never really understood the industry of porn, I understand with Voice actors doing gaming rolls and animated movies you often find the same people doing them because they money is not all that great so they have to jump around to anything they can get, actors get incredibly good money no matter what they are doing, singers get good money when they are doing just that or going into movies but when they start taking photo shoots and doing openings showing themselves everywhere their rates drop, so I am guessing with porn stars they are like under the supermodel code if you stay exclusive you make big bucks if you start running the circuit u will be making quick pay checks yes but simply not getting as much as u could have been. Is that somewhere along the right lines?

P.S Sorry Jon I didn't mean to disrespect your opinion

Damn Jason, how do you know so much! You always have such informative posts. If I don't know what you looked like, I'd read your posts and think you were in your 40s. You just seem like you have been around forever, lol.

I do feel wiser beyond my years. Its really as simple as being aware of your surroundings and paying attention to detail. Being observant and and assuming as little as possibile. Finding the facts. I have been around for quite a while now. Im also very business oriented. I take an interest in my endeavors and use my surroundings to learn and excell.

In this situation specifically, it simply comes with the experience of having lived through it and dealt with it on a consistant basis. Other than that its mostly just charisma lol :P

it's a way with words, being observant and charm! as mrs. roosevelt said to john kennedy, 'are you sure you are ready to be president?'
jason there is a crown in search of a head upon which to rest. 'would you be ready?'

Actually to the contrary, he was very difficult to work with for a number of reasons. I didnt hate the kid, but I wasnt saddened to see him go.
