Are there still 100% traditional gay male adult stars?

Mmm... A current point of controversy is how there seems to be fewer and fewer 100% gay men in porn who will only mate with other cisgender males, whether in movies or in their private lives off-camera.

Here's an off-forum thread about it.

Here, at Broke Straight Boys/College Boy Physicals, we're used to sexually fluid male adult performers, but outside this platform, there seems to be more and more of such fluidity, and some gay viewers feel lied to and used by bisexual or hetero performers who claim to be gay. Some of those viewers equate sex w/ a trans man with sex w/ a cis woman, and more and more gay porn actors have been hitting it w/ trans men. Technically, those actors are no longer gay but pan, right? Their reasoning is that as gay men, they'd NEVER do it w/ a cis woman, a trans man, or a trans woman—even w/ male genitalia.

WhyNotBi, now merged w/ MEN, has just released a DP scene feat. a cis man, a trans woman (shemale), and a trans man.

This appears to be a result of advancement in diversity, in recognizing all sexual identities and orientations, thus catering to viewers (incl. bisexuals and pansexuals) interested in expanded forms of sexuality.

That said, some feel this is an attempt to bisexualize or even heterosexualize gay men in a form of conversion therapy, thus giving homophobes ammunition to say that yes, gay men can choose to love women, be w/ women, mate w/ women and raise a family w/ women if they choose so.

Some of those observers wish to only monetarily support 100% traditional gay performers (who only do it w/ cis males, in porn or real-life), and they find it harder and harder to detect that.

What do y'all think?

A post in the linked thread above highlights how recent Justin the Jock and Jak White controversies brought up these questions.

Justin the Jock, who repeatedly claimed to be gay (and have been sent to conversion therapy by his folks when he was a teen), just recently released his first ever bisexual scene, a moment he claims was his first time ever w/ a woman. That scene caused a huge uproar!

As for Jak White, he insists he is 100% gay even though he's now having sex w/ cis women on cam. He says it's just acting, that it's like using a sex toy.

Not everybody will agree!

It's a difficult topic. When I think of my own trouble with my sexuality, I have gone back and forth about whether my occasional attraction to women is just appreciation of beauty or something more. But certainly there must be some truth to the idea of gay men actors being able to have sex with women and still be gay. A lot of gay men somehow have kids from their previous marriages to women.

The HBO MAX series that I am currently watching, Heated Rivalry is about two professional hockey players who are having an affair had a plot line on that very subject this week. The Russian player is having an ongoing affair with a woman while still hooking up with the Canadian guy. But the Canadian tried dating an actress but basically discovered that he couldn’t get it up for her. They had a discussion about it and she told him to accept that he is gay.

I know many gay guys including several that I met on this forum who were married to women and are fathers. Whereas I am like Hollander, the Canadian player, could never have sex with a woman. I guess all gay guys were not created equally.

@trebligon @mikeyank Good points. However, the issue pointed out by those viewers is not so much sexual fluidity, confusion or societal pressure. It's male adult performers who publicly claim to be gay all the while knowing that they are indeed bisexual or pansexual—or else but not traditionally gay (as in currently only mating with one or more cisgender males). Those viewers feel used for their pink dollars ($$$); they feel like the "gay" presentation is purely commercial and not genuine. They would appreciate it more if those performers made it very clear that they are not gay.

Those viewers also feel that for tradition's sake, there should remain a sizeable portion of "gold star" gay male adult performers—a species they feel is endangered. The thing is, the more trans men seek partners for adult films, the more cis gay performers end up mating w/ them, which lowers the number of "gold star" performers. And the more cis gay performers end up copulating w/ cis women, the more the number of "gold star" performers decreases. As for trans women and nullos (all born males), those viewers often feel like traditional gay men would not mate w/ them either.

All this talk of gay "purity" may irk some, but this is how some viewers feel.
