I have to put this out there just because, I have found myself trying to put into perspective, what it would be like for someone, to have once enjoyed the human arousal through the senses that god gave us, to suddenly or through the result of an injury or organic causes, loose that ability? I am stimulated by erotica or sexually explicit activities of my preference. But, to not be able to experience that, would have to be a very frustrating circumstance. What alternatives are there?:anyone: Sincerely; Curious.

You are such a sweetheart!! Looking for the good in everything is very admirable.

If you are into films, you should see "Sessions." It is a very good movie, staring Helen Hunt, about a man who grows up in an iron lung who wants to experience heterosexual sex. The man is Catholic and seeks the advice of his neighborhood priest, played by William H Macy; if you're into the show "Shameless," you'll know what a dichotomy these characters are from one another. As for the "physical" act, I think Viagra has helped millions of men (and their women.)

Thanks for those references Beth. I do assure you, I am not in this situation myself!!!LOL, I know peterh6308 "got me" though. Helen Hunt is one of many actresses I really enjoy, as is William Macy! And as to Viagra.....it don't fix a broken man's mental status! 'Just sayin...

A few years back I went to see a therapist who was working to get her MD so she could become a full psychiatrist and was able to discuss many issues I was having (and still am). My family has no idea of these issues but I was able to talk to her and it felt wonderful. I was able to see her through the VA so it didn't cost me anything. If it is possible, why not try and find someone to talk to so you can really open up without being judged?

I am so glad you sought the help you needed, but I disagree on the "free" therapy you received. Since you saw her through the VA, I am assuming you are a vet and as such, you have definitely "paid" your share, and more. Thank you for your service.

Now Beth, this Thread may have more relevance! No_ You can't make an omelet out of it, but has one ingredient?
