BSB Addict
There are a few of us that are concerned we have not heard from a forum member in a few days. The problem is that we have no way of contacting him other than through the forum.
My question is such:
1. Would you be opposed it we asked management to create a sort of member directory where we could list our screen name, location, and email address?
2. Another option would be to have an entry on our forum profile for our contact information. I know the "About Me" is rather vague, but if asked for this info, people might have a tendency to respond.
In my case, I have someone who is authorized to access my email account in the event of an emergency.
About seven years ago I was in close contact with a man I had met online. I met him through an American Indian website and we shared so much of our ancestry. He lived in Pennsylvania and we had made plans to meet half way during an Indian gathering in Georgia. This young friend had been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas and he said he was on his road to recovery One month before our meeting, I got an email from his roommate telling me his condition had worsened and he had died. I will not go into detail about how close our relationship and friendship had become. What I still remember and love about him is that he made sure that if something happened, his friends would be notified. With the assistance of his roommate, I was able to have flowers wired and placed on his grave site.
We are a family here. Please, let's keep in touch.
