I recently had a problem with the editing process on the Forum. I typed my comments, posted it and then got up to pee and get another beer. When I got back to edit my post, I was timed out (5 minutes).

A friend and I did a time study on this today. I cannot pee and get another beer in under ten minutes. My friend has a PhD in physics.

A possible solution would be a sliding scale based on age. Younger people get 5 minutes. Older people, like me, get 10 minutes.

I like your logic. How about, since I have a vagina, I get 15 minutes??

As a foreigner I make much more mistakes than elderly or vaginated persons...

Please give me 30 minutes editing time.

PS: Just 5 minutes for editing a post, is way too short! We all agree on that...

OMG so did I for a minute! I love the idea of extra time for editing, since I have to admit, because I'm so honest this way, that I tend to post more when I've been drinking some wine or dirty martinis, so some extra time to realize I've made typos is GOOD! I hate typos...

I hate typos too. I cringe when is see that I've left typos or have left pronouns out of agreement. Though the real solution of course is to double and triple check before we hit send. haha

I know that professor Slim will catch it every time if I say something like,"I like the model to tell us what they are feeling." I hate it when I can't fix it. haha :001_rolleyes:

A possible solution. Each time one attempts to post, a short (5 minute) test could be given. The test would have two components: mental and physical. Scores on the test could be used to determine how much time one gets to edit (say between 5 minutes and 20 minutes). If some members go back to abusing the system, those members can get locked in at the 5 minute level.

Tampa's advice is simple and will work. However, we need to make this more complicated. And I enjoy taking tests.
