I feel the same way, Jon. Although born in the U.S., I have always felt a strong connection with the British. I have worked on our family genealogy and found out that my ancestors came from Chard in Great Britain in 1635. In fact the family home is still there with members of my family still living in the house.

I guess if I were to go back far enough in my research, I could probably find connections with all of you guys and gals. We are all brothers and sisters of planet Earth, and I love each one of you.

Chard is a town and civil parish in the Somerset county of England. It lies on the A30 road near the Devon border, 15 mi south west of Yeovil. The parish has a population of approximately 12,000 and, at an elevation of 121 m, it is the southernmost and highest town in Somerset. Administratively Chard forms part of the district of South Somerset.

Nothing wrong with being "boring free settlers". They were who they were. If they had not been the pioneers of your family, you would not be living in the paradise you say you're living in. Just think, if they had stayed in Britain, you and Jon would be complaining about all of that miserable rain every day. Count your blessings, my dear.

Indeed we would.

I am completely amazed at the amount of people from the USA. I thought we had a lot of Brits and Ausies.

Thanks, Jon. I'll have to add this to my records. Ever been there?

No mate. It's one of the very few areas of the UK that I haven't visited. Incidentally Somerset is the county of apples and cider. There is a lot more information about Chard on Wiki dude. Check it out.

There are more here than are posting currently. I have a friend in here who lives in Oz but just doesn't post much. I'm also quite sure that there are many many Brits who are members but just haven't joined the forum. But at least we have Jon back with us, so it's all good. :)

Well said Robb!

Even if you remove the spiritual aspect of brotherhood (and sisterhood :001_smile:) and focus only on the genealogical and genetic aspect of the human race...if you go back far enough we are all descended from common ancestors when the planet's human population was much smaller. So in the physical and genetic sense we are all cousins with various degrees of removal. Of course in the non physical sense we are all one family of spiritual beings sharing this human experience together. At any give moment I believe we are all trying to do the best we can with whatever hand we were dealt from the time we entered this existence to the present. Therefore I have love for all of you too.

Tampa, that's a beautiful post. You said exactly what I wish I could say. As I have told several friends here, a lot of you write like college scholars. I write like Dear Abby. Most of my correspondence in my adult years was in rough draft. It was up to the secretary to make me sound good. And, yes I do miss that secretary pool! Want to be my secretary? lol

But honestly, Cousin, I enjoyed your post very much. Thank you.

Yeah I have got to rethink this. I would like some specific data but obviously there are limitation's. I also have a curiosity about what leaks through to the sick Islamic AND so call CHRRISTIAN community http://abcnews.go.com/Health/gay-da...-club-swimming/story?id=16717179#.T_YRIHnD9RA rhhill has come up with, as usually, some great ideas. He is either a barrister, a professor of English literature and or poetry. However, he probably is just intelligent, likes to read and owns a porn shop. Sorry dude American humor. No insult.

I totally agree with everything positive you say about Robert, (rrhill). I am often amazed at his abilities with the computer, and with his intelligence, being able to write his clever posts using all of the idioms of English, while the language is not his native tongue.

To my way of thinking, Robert is a very entertaining and important part of this forum. :thumbup1:

...Stowe, do like being lumped with the 40 year olds........or not?

I just chuckled at the broadness of the age category because it speaks to the emphasis still today on youth in general and especially in gay culture. I've often joked that at 70, in gay years I've been dead for a 100!!

Truthfully, since this is an anonymous poll, I wish the category were broken down more specifically, because I would be interested in seeing a more detailed age demographic.

I chuckled at that myself Stowe. That because I'm in my forties, that I might as well be 80. haha I guess it's still true that after 40, you are considered almost ancient in gay years. :crying2: lol

Maybe I need to break it up into two polls, location and then age. Then I might try dick size and require a picture :001_unsure:
