What I Miss About BSB

Thanks to everyone for your replies to my post. FYI for those who wondered... my dust up was with the original BSB2 crew.

And to Mark and team - I think the problem that people see is that BSB2 is starting down the path that BSB1 took (I've been around for years and was a senior member before). As I mentioned in my original post, everything has become predictable, and the models are either obviously pros, or have been coached, etc. Let's try to remember the context of this site: Broke Straight Boys If I want professional-appearing porn I'll just go to a site the produces its shows. But for Broke Straight Boys, it would be nice to see a mix of the first, ackward scenes, and then see the boys "grow up" as they continue. Then you'll have a little of everything and should satisfy the majority of the members, at least.

And just to give props where they're due, I think that Clay does a great job when he has the chance to give the new guys some guidance. Have we seen a picture or vid with him in it? :001_rolleyes:

Except for the sometimes long winded interviews, I much prefer the way things were done in Broke Straight Boys 1. I think Broke Straight Boys 2.0 has gone to far in insisting that models progress quickly, and with kissing and passion. IN other words, it has become more of a College Dudes And people are saying over and over, it has become very predictable and is quickly losing its credibility as a straight porn site. I've had gay friends tell me they thought it was a gay porn site!

I gotta say, if it weren't for the forums, I'd be out of here! Some of the boys are hot, BLAKE and ADAM and PAUL a few others, but it is not like we see them all the time anyway, and it's getting to be too expensive for what it has become. I think my days are numbered.
I'm not going anywhere at this time J, but I sure agree that the uniqueness of Broke Straight Boys is vanishing, particularly in scenes with models paired together who are experienced in gay sex, with a "cold open" and they start kissing and making love right from the "git go". That can be seen on most any gay site.

My feeling is the role of the popular experienced guys should be to work with a newbie, as watching two guys who've been here many times make love to one another, is not what I joined this site to watch. It's been said many times but when Porn Shane showed MikeR's friend Josh, just how hot man to man sex could be, and Josh seemed startled how much he was enjoying it, was a magical moment. I sure would love to see more "magical" scenes like that on BSB2.

Agree with you both to some extent however, you it appears that a lot of people do want some kind of chemistry and/or intimacy. But if you look at the progression of BSB1 models for instance. Many moved on to greater things on other sites involving intimate and some barebacking. E.G Diesal

That is actually a very natural progression Jon. I learned of a wonderful quotation from the bible from the Book of Ecclesiastes, through the song by The Byrds called "Turn Turn Turn". In the natural progression of a true beginner straight boy who performs on this site, there is a time of innocence, a time of exploration, a time of discovery, a time of comfort and enjoyment, and then it is time to move on...................In my ideal world, a model who becomes popular and comfortable with gay sex should perhaps move on to BluMedia's sister site College Dudes where they could continue to earn money and entertain their fans, after their time as a Broke Straight Boys has come to it's natural conclusion.

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late

This thread is confusing because it seems like when we film someone that is very nervous who can't perform well the ratings are really bad. But when we film someone who isn't nervous and it is a good scene the ratings are through the roof. I like the nervousness in scenes too but the ratings on those aren't high.

Broke Straight Boys is on a real mission impossible if trying to please all. Variation is key!

I totally agree, Robert. Having been a member and reading these forums since the beginning of the forum, there is no way to please all the various tastes and requests of membership on a consistent basis. I like the Broke Straight Boys concept in it's most literal sense, of a "believable" straight boy, (both to the audience and often to himself) engaging in man on man sex for the first time, through all the nervousness and discomfort, until he learns the joy of gay sex..............or not.

Majority opinion on this forum seems to call for an intimate connection between partners, including kissing, rimming and other ways of expressing affection between partners. And so it seems to me that mixing things up with a variety of scenarios all within the basic concept of the site, is the only way to please all of the people at least some of the time.

What I like is when a shy straight guy gets the blowjob of his life by a gay tramp, that looks oh so innocent and straight. Most gay guys have these straight sex fantasies yet to my surprise these scenes are hard to find on the Internet. So I am a minority on this site too. Broke Straight Boys would look very different if I were in charge...

Nevertheless, my friends that do like the kissing and rimming should have their video's. I won't rate these scenes one star, or talk them down.

That's where we differ mate. I liked David's interviews and at least he was interpretable. Most of the time I havn't a clue what Clay says.

Variety is the spice of life, my friend. What a boring world it would be, if we all liked or disliked the same things.

I do, however, agree with you about the acoustics. There was never a problem hearing David and those interminable interviews. (I don't mind them now ever since Webmonkey did his great service to mankind by streaming all of BSB1.0 scenes so I can just speed through the interview segments.)

I can only hope that one of the great things Mark is talking about for 2013 is a real studio with professional sound equipment and someone who knows how to use it. And good portable sound equipment so when the BTS videos are done, presumably outside of a studio setting, we can hear what is being said.

I'll just say it.......What I miss about Broke Straight Boys is CHAD:001_wub:!

Everyone is right the progression has become lightning fast, but that could be because scenes are out of order, so we see someones fuck scenes before some of their oral scenes.:confused1:

Dear Rrhill,

You always enrich the Forum for all of us and I want to thank
you for doing that so creatively.

However, I much preferred Peter Graves to the actor who
replaced him who appears in the opening segment you gave
us. Can you find one that features the much dishier actor?

Or would that be another Mi.I.?

I love that song Mike and I've got the Byrds greatest hits - from my dad - also love 8 miles high..

Tangogent thank you for proving my point about the impossibility to please all...

Here's the original intro!

I realize that and it truly saddens me because I have seen how this site has changed in an effort to accommodate all these varied tastes. It has changed this site, and while some of the models are still hot, I don't know that it is worth the expense. Again, as on the other thread, I feel my time on Broke Straight Boys coming to its conclusion. I hate that it has changed so much, but I still love the forum and all of you.

Hi John, this old southern gentleman from across the pond agrees with you. I have had on numerous times to go back and replay what Clay said. Now, I use ear buds and I can, most of the time, catch what he says but there are still times even with the buds I have to go back or just figure that it's not worth the trouble.
I'm just saying:
:wtf:

I agree with the view expressed above by esteemed Elite Member MikeYank, renowned on two continents for his wisdom and eloquence.

We can maintain the old favourites by having them mentor/recruit/teach/seduce the newbies.
The best of both worlds, non?

A little of the old Broke Straight Boys came through in the most recent scene with Lucas. If you have not watched it, take a look. Thanks Troublemaker for getting this thread started. I think you have hit on something very important to many of us.
