So I have been a consultant for the company since 2009 and since then I have primarily been the one to schedule the scenes. We have had a variation of solo, oral and anal scenes. I have tried to schedule solo on Wednesday, Anal on Friday and Oral on Sunday. That is what you currently see in the current upcoming scenes. In the past several months you have seen less oral scenes because I frankly don't see the need in filming them unless they are necessary for the model. Some models feel comfortable going from the solo directly to the anal. It actually cost me less to film an oral over the anal but we have found that the anal scenes are in more demand than a solo or an oral. Most don't care for the solo scenes and I can certainly see why but they are meant to introduce the new model to the site.
Well I see the difference in our looking at things. Your week starts on Wednesdays and mine follows the calendar by starting on Sunday; but it really makes no difference in the long run. I joined
Broke Straight Boys in April 2011. In addition to watching the current scenes, I watched the archives from the oldest on forward. I guess what was stuck in my mind was how things were more regimented prior to your arrival.
Then I did a little experiment. I had readily available to me a calendar for 2014; so I took Jan of each year to see how scenes were posted and here's what I pleasantly discovered:
1. Jan. 2014: 14 scenes posted; 11 anal/2 oral/1 solo
2. Jan. 2015: 13 scenes posted; 11 anal/0 oral/2 solo
3. Jan. 2016: 14 scenes posted; 13 anal/0 oral/1 solo (5 anal in a row; the solo; then 8 anal)
Then I looked at the rest of 2016 (2/3 to 5/8) and it showed that of the 27 scenes posted there were 20 anal/1 oral/6 solo.
I didn't realize what I was getting until I did the analysis because I tend to look at a week at a time/scene at a time and when I do that, I tend to overlook the longer trend. So you can imagine how much I - a big, 'ole bottom - loved this revelation (even if some of the anal scenes don't always hit the spot for me).
I agree with your view of not filming oral only scenes. Unless well done erotically (and I can think of only a few) they are so-o-o-boring. Obviously the exception for the benefit of the model's comfort level, especially if he is truly straight, I think is a wise one. It might just help to retain a model who might quit after the solo scene because of hesitancy over going from a solo scene directly to an anal scene.
Solo scenes are, to me, even more boring unless done well erotically and there have been precious few of those. But I understand their purpose. Have you ever considered combining the "getting to know" bts scenes and the jerk off scenes? Seems like a natural thing to at least consider.
So thanks, sha, for your post which prompted me to do some research and discover what I'm really getting. Thanks for the anal scenes and keep 'em coming. I'd much rather watch a mediocre anal scene than an average oral or solo scene.
