Think that name for a candy bar would float in today's world?

According to Wikipedia, the similarity in the sounds of the two words caused the diet candy to change it's name, and eventually go out of business :

Time will tell. Frankly, I don't put much faith into any of those associations/departments lately. They have ALL been wrong at times. My trusty condoms have NEVER let me down in over 30 years.

hands downs the safest method is the hands.
if i can know within a week after exposure that the test for dna proteins for hiv is negative, i would pay the cost.
a standard hiv test for antibodies is good, but antibodies take time to show up. and the test takes longer to read.
in any case, the message is get tested.
whether the test is for nuecleic acid or antibodies in not important to me.

Sorry but we have to get real here. Who can afford these expensive tests ? Not many and in my experience it is the younger guys who are become rather blase about bareback who really need access to this type of testing - worldwide.

this thread started out as one about paul and flint getting tested. although the rapid test for hiv dna cost more than the standard hiv antibody test, my doctor says it provides detection of the virus itself. the test for antibodies does not look for the virus, it looks for the body's reaction to the virus. Broke Straight Boys is willing to pay for these expensive test. i wish the tests were free!

That's how I understood Mark to have explained it in the beginning. The more expensive test Broke Straight Boys uses looks for the virus itself in the bloodstream. Allegedly it can detect hiv infection within the last 2-3 days. The other tests look for the body's immune response to having the hiv virus introduced into it. Since many people's immune systems appear to take up to 3 months or so to produce antibodies to the virus...the standard and cheaper tests can yield more false negative results.
