The British versions of the music talent show the Voice, is way better than the Voice US, or the Voice Australia. The same goes for the "Britain's Got talent" and the "Xfactor" shows. Has it to do with something in the tap water?

Now the auditions for the second year of the Voice are on TV. Typical at that show is that the judges can't see the artist; they judge on the voice only... That brings in people that otherwise not would have bothered to audition.

This is the first audition of the first show in 2013, five weeks ago. Check it out!

I watched The Voice last year and am watching it this year too. It's a cool show but it is getting rather repetitive. Yes you get people like the big fella in your post, but then you also get former pop starts who are trying to make it back into the business and although there have been a few of those, only one has got through so far.

A change of judges might have been a good idea too: Danny and Jessie Jay behave like real jerks at times.

The Voice US on NBC sucks... big time. Don't like any of the judges, nor the atmosphere of super ego's. Believe me Jon, the British edition is the best.

A singer has a voice, that's their instrument. And the challenge to reinvent a former pop star, is quite interesting. Where shows like Idols and the X-factor stop, 'The voice UK' starts...

No more idiots that can't sing. Every artist that performs can actually sing! And that makes is so much more interesting to watch!

Thanks for posting that, Robert.

I've never watched any version of the show, but that guy sure caught my interest and not only because I love INXS and Michael Hutchens. Imagine how many times he must have dealt with the prejudices and insensitivities that are such a big part of our imperfect world. Now, though this show, he has a chance to shine, and regardless of what happens as the show progresses that moment will always be his...

Robert in relation to Britain having the best show, I will humbly agree to disagree. I would have to watch full episodes from Britain to have a better understanding of the differences, however I have only really started watching the voice this year (In Oz) but have enjoyed it immensely. I enjoy going on youtube and just watching random videos of the voice from all countries and feel each of them has talent that would appeal to many people. Especially in Oz this year with the addition of Ricky Martin...need I say more ;) and the 'save' feature where each judge has the opportunity to save one contestant from another judges core list.

I do agree however that the show is all about playing it up for the votes and absolutely loathe some of the back ground stories. I suggested to a great friend of mine with an absolutely stunning voice to go onto the show; her response...."I dont have a sad enough story" initially this had me laughing but the more I watched it, the more accurate her comment seemed to be. Every contestant had at least one sad story that the producers exploited in an attempt to improve the ratings.

*steps of soap box*

Cheers

I guess I have bad taste then, because I love the U.S. version of The Voice. The talent is through the roof, and I think Adam Levine is amazing as a coach.

You love a good paella, handsome boys wit dark hair, darling:001_wub: your taste is impeccable!

After seeing the latest episode of the Voice UK (2), I downloaded and watched the complete first series; watched four episodes per day.

Next I downloaded the third series of the Voice US, the personalities and the chemistry between the judges disappointed me. (I hit the stop button before seeing any of the débutantes) Maybe I will give it retry after Frodo's and your comment.
Why not try out some of the British episodes Ms. K:001_wub: and Frodo? The judges are: Will.I.am, sir Tom Jones, Jessie Jay, and Danny O'Donoghue from 'the Script'.

Hi Robert

I did watch the clips you provided, thank you. I would have to agree with you, I throughouly enjoyed the performers within these episodes. Still not sure if it is better than Australia (but that may just be bias on my behalf :001_tongue:).

Regards

I just happened to be cruising some web sites that show hot guys and found this clip from "Australia's Got Talent", with this 24 year old apprentice plumber showing off his talents, and he says he's from Tasmania, so perhaps our esteemed forumite Grace may know him?

He lives and works in my closest town, which isn't tiny but small enough for almost everyone to be connected in some way. A super nice guy with a crazy sense of humor...small world

Well after you Frodo and Ms K.

told me how much you loved The Voice US and Australia... I downloaded the first US series and just right now this evening, watched the final.

Carson Daly is one charming and good looking presenter. And I do change my opinion on Adame Levine... he is a great guy; reminds me of Will from Grace. The artists make the show a pleasure to watch.

What the US version lacks... are the British judges! There sense of humor, and there creativity to change up older songs into something super fresh, to ability to surprise me big time.

Really, if you love The Voice US or Australia... watch back the first season of the Voice UK!

could you take Dylon with you to Amsterdam when you visit my place?

Well from the Voice we get to Australia got Talent. This is one reason why this guy would never make it on the Voice because he simply isn't a good singer. He obviously chose the correct talent contest to appear in and good luck to him - as a stripper.

Well I watched last night's UK Voice - it was the last of the heats - and it confirmed to me what I've been thinking about for a long time, and that it is fixed. I appreciate that Tom and Danny had completed their teams, but Jesse and Will let so many excellent singers pass them by before choosing their final act. The usual "has beens" turned up too and this week it was a guy from Hear Say and a girl from Bucks Fizz. After their performance they really should hang up their vocal chords.
