I agree with the last post about wondering what the girlfriend thought about having cameras in the house if she didn't really know what was going on. And what abiut the scene with Devon too where he reveals he knows about Vadim Black's gay porn career and reveals he does the same? But that's the MTV bit.

I think the Broke Straight Boys bit (ie the models sitting around the couch) is almost painfully real. The models were totally unimpressed with Vadim Black, but felt it a bit impolite to say so on film, given they might be fucking him next month. So they said nothing. They didn't seem keen to congratulate Vadim Black when Devon rang him up either. I do think that is an interesting reaction and makes the video very worthwhile. In a way, it is very honest Behind The Scenes material, and so I really disagree that it isn't worthwhile. It was really telling, I think.

and I also agree with Mikeyank that Vadim Black might not be returning - maybe I'll be wrong because he is easily the biggest star Broke Straight Boys has at the moment, and obviously his scenes draw the crowds. But that was a pretty icy reception.

But then you have to say. Vadim Black in no way compares too Paul in likability. One thing I always wonder about Girlfriends?
What do they think the camera crew is doing in there house ? Or in there car if they know nothing? But then I feel I may be going through a little Broke Straight Boys burnout.

Johnny, don't feel alone. I too have been going through some Broke Straight Boys burnout for the last 2-3 months. I can count the fingers on one hand of the scenes I have watched in that period of time. It was even suggested elsewhere that maybe I should take a break from the site. Sounds very tempting for the amount I pay every month on a limited income.

Great analogy, betu, comparing porn to a soap opera.

I watched my mother "living" in "Days of our Lives" for an hour each weekday. She "knew" each of the characters, got angry at some for trying to manipulate others, was relieved when others were saved from life threatening situations, cried at funerals and weddings. But in the end, it was just a soap opera, just like in the end here, it is just porn as you and my friend, Mike, has always stated. Nothing here worth ruining a beautiful day.

You know the feeling is mutual. Very much so.I guess I do get a little too involved. Maybe time for me to take a break and just read.
Just finding everything so silly, phony, and just not having the fun I once did. And I really don't believe much I read.
And you know I think there all gay. So get tired of hearing so much bull. Even feel foolish.So maybe time to stop posting for a while?

Clusterfuck is putting it mildly. It was worse than trying to follow an episode of AHS/Hotel. The pre-scene thumbnail says watch the boys react. Well, we did. They were bored out of their skulls. Most of them were playing with their hand-held devices and really only occasionally mumbled their comments. I loved Abram's reaction to all of Vadim Black's bullshit - one of smirky disregard or that's how I saw it. Plus, quite a few of these guys don't even know Vadim Black so I'm sure they could have cared less. I really couldn't understand what Chandler whispered about the pills; but as I said at the time of the thread on the mtv show, if you need help with e.d. then take a viagra not some third world knockoff. And as one of the commentators said who knows if Vadim Black is really telling the truth or just being dramatic. Then to end it with an unintelligible conversation with Vadim Black put the cherry on the top of this disaster. I just hope the guys watching got paid for their time.

I didn't watch the mtv reality show. I did watch the 'young turks' on gay for pay episodes, on youtube. I enjoy how they deal with different subjects. on most subjects, I come down on the same side as the three young turks. the point is what I know about the reality show is what I saw on 'young turks' and reading the forum. as I understand those type of shows, they create a little friction and place containers mislabeled 'water' or 'gasoline' around the house and let the fun begin with some characters knowing or thinking they know more than the others.
my room has a camera which I can view remotely. the bus has cameras! the bank! the office building! the lady sitting next me has a camera on her device. the cameras followed me into the building and up the elevator. they follow me to the microphone and wait until I
stop speaking and then watch me walk away. sometimes, I like to video myself watching myself speaking. doesn't everybody have how cameras following them?

Indeed that was the concept and if well executed it could have been a fascinating glimpse into the real lives and real reactions of the Broke Straight Boys models to one of their own who has "come clean" on national TV, but unfortunately the presentation sucked and the whole thing was a disaster.

I loved seeing the boys in the house away from the scenes they appear in. I encourage Sha to show us more of this type of thing, but in a more controlled situation with better mic work and without the distractions of a TV show about a TV show in the background and without a tinny sounding phone call all at the same time. Again, good concept......lousy execution!

and it refers to the use of e.d. pills. I seem to remember sha or someone in mgmt posting or saying somewhere that the models do not take e.d. pills. I do remember someone saying no drugs were allowed and maybe it is my mind classifying e.d. pills as a drug, but something nags at me that somewhere, sometime, e.d. pills were mentioned specifically. And, mikey, my "forever" forum buddy did David ever mention anything about this topic back in his days of posting on the forum?

My point though Another1 is that that isn't the video we got to see. It very well describes the video I was hoping we would get to see. lol As some others have alluded to, maybe the lack of enthusiasm and congratulations to Vadim Black's tv debut was telling in itself. It's hard to watch a video with interest though where as some of us have said, that the participants looked even more bored than us viewers when we started to watch.

I thought the video would be either a thought provoking discussion among the models about the dilemmas they face in the own lives...or it would be a comedy. It turned out to be neither. lol

I actually wouldn't mind it if they gave another BTS a go again in an attempt to let models discuss some of the same issues of gay for pay or just gay porn modeling. Just done much differently. I try not to take BTS scenes very seriously. But seriously... lol If the company is inviting the paying audience in for a more informal visit with the guys off the porn set, no matter how informally the models are dressed, all the cellphones should be put away and out of sight. Side conversations should be kept to a minimum. Otherwise it can taken as rude. I see it as an analogy of inviting (paying) guests for a very short visit into your home. Etiquette would dictate that as hosts and beneficiaries of the paying audience, you make an effort to acknowledge the guests, engage in some conversation with the interviewer and audience, and focus your attention on them for a while. And that's true whether the mood and discussion is very serious, or if it's totally humorous and frivolous.

If the models were all dragged out and tired at the end of a long day, then it wasn't a good time to film and interview them.

I agree. The concept was a good one but what we got was disastrously unsuccessful. And I also found it rude and very telling that most of the models were texting or doing something on their phones and not paying much attention. Management should have told them all to put their phones away until after the shoot. Abram by the end is crouched on one end of the couch as far away as he can get from everyone else, intent on his phone and not at all connected with the other models, the show on the tv or us, the audience. They all looked tired or bored. And what few comments we got were mostly missed either because of the mic used or the models mumbling or something. And then that unintelligible phone call which, again, no one really seemed to care about beyond Devon.

It was a complete and miserable failure.

I generally like the "insider view" idea, however, and as I said in another topic, I would love to see BTS videos of chats with the models -- new and old, to get their opinions and insights. I would especially be interested in seeing a bunch of the older guys who are no longer at Broke Straight Boys (and many no longer in porn at all), just to catch up with them post-porn work. What are they doing now? How are their lives? What did they take away from their time with Broke Straight Boys? Etc. I think that would be great, and just a very nice, human moment with guys we mostly just see as sexual without much thought to their lives or aspirations.
