Being a customer service rep and on the road most of the day, I happen to read quite of few of the businesses reader signs. Well, today, I happened to notice that on a Burger King Reader Board they were mentioning that Star Trek Glasses were coming.
Anyone know or heard of this yet?
Gary

Gary,

From what I've read, this will be a major Publicity promo Burger King will be doing staring around the 4th of May to help promote the new Star Trek Movie. The glasses are drinking glasses. The set will consist of 4 different characters, from the original series (Kirk, Spock, Uhura and Nero (?)) and the Enterprise on the other side. In addition, they will have other Star Trek collector items as part of the give-a-way.

So I guess for me that is more to add to my collection. I may need to get another home with 8 bedrooms, one to live in and 7 to store and display my stuff. Even when I go on vacations I find Sci-Fi stuff that I add to my collection. On the Island of St. Maarten, I met "That Yoda Guy". The shop is run by the Guy who designed Yoda. It is part museum and part collector store. I added to my collection a Return of the Jedi Move Poster, with 6 autographs that he acquired (Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy De Williams, David Prowse, Ian McDiarmid & one other I can't remember).

So I hope I have answered your question.

Live Long and Prosper, (now you know why I use this)

I always liked the original, DS-9, Voyager and TNG. In that order. Star Trek phase II shows some promise but it's too early to say. Enterprise doesn't even make the list. For obvious reasons... I liked TNG. It had some great episodes. What I didn't care for was the arrogance of the characters of Picard and especially Riker.

I hate to sink to moronic comparisons such as who would you like to have beer with...or a cup of coffee. (I'm not a drinker myself) But here goes. If Riker showed up in character he would be acting very self important and wishing he was spending time with someone more worthy of his company. He would suffer through a brief social chat with one of us mere mortals and probably try to turn it into a "teaching" session where he would impart some of his wisdom and experience to us.

If we had a cup of coffee with Picard in character he would be acting and feeling much the same way as Riker. He would just be more socially tactful in attempting to hide it. He would make a point of feigning interest in us and our lives by asking a few personal questions. And we would be expected to feel grateful that he had given us some of his very valuable time. I'd have more fun (and learn more) talking to a computer like Data than either of those bozos.

In comparison to the other series who wouldn't love to have a chat with Kirk, Spock, Tom Paris, Janeway, Cpt. Cisco, Dax, Dr. Bashir, Nana Visitor, (What's her freakin character's name?) Duh... LOL...Gerrick the Caudasian spy, etc.

In fairness I would like to chat with Geordie as well as Data. There were characters in various episodes of TNG that I'd love to meet and talk to. But as for the regular TNG characters those are the only two with whom I felt a real connection.

Was that from the Movie "Jeffery." Patrick Stewart was a great Pink Panther.

It's one of my favorites. The fantasy square dance was my favorite before Adam And Steve came along...

Hey, Shit Happens! 'Course, the best Jackie Beat song ever is that take off of I Like Big Butts but the name escapes me. I thought I knew it but I can't find it on the playlist I'm running right now. Still, I did remember I had Moloko's version of Are Friends Electric and am listening to it right now.

Duh. Jackie Beat's greatest effort is called 'Baby Got Front'! My eerily prescient Media Player picked it as random as the next song...

My roommate is a big sci-fi fan. He has seen every episode that Star Trek made, plus the movies. He is also big on Star Wars and the Empire Strikes Back as well as Battlestar Galactica and others.
I will have to watch for those glasses and then start collecting them for him. He doesn't even know about the new movie or promotion.
