Rob Ryder is Retired!

Rob, I am not a fan, but I sincerely wish you the very best life has to offer. Hope you and your love will be very happy together.

Rob was doing gay porn before he ever started doing it for College Dudes and then Broke Straight Boys, I'm sure if he wants to do a comeback at some point in the future there are other genre sites that would be more than happy to hire him. However, as David used to tell us many times, the shelf life of a model is typically pretty short in terms of a really limited genre like twinks or college aged type models...especially bottoms. The older you get (or appear), the less you will be used in twink or college age genre sites.

Rob is correct in pointing out that often times it's best to bow out on a high note (rather than being phased out). Not saying that's what would happen, but at some point to leave as a big name success only continues your brand (for a possible comeback in a different genre later) while to stay can begin to erode your fanbase as people move on to other things and get tired of the same old thing all the time.

I believe that Rob was a Colt model before being hired by Blu Media, and he has had a very long career in the gay adult entertainment industry (in porn years lol).

Some of the biggest names in the industry have stayed on to the point of over-saturation, and have become known as "has beens" as a result. An example would be former Falcon exclusive Matthew Rush, who the last time I heard was working at Starbucks in South Florida to make a living. I believe he has made a comeback featuring older guys and more rough trade type stuff, but it may have been a much better career move for him if he would have retired while he was on top so to speak, and then possibly been able to make a much anticipated come back to the delight and clamoring of his fans.

Usually when someone makes the decision to retire, it's a strategic or business and personal decision more than a result of a few individual non life changing events.

At the risk of sounding rude, thank you for stating the obvious.
