I have thought about Richard often since I heard of his passing. I kept asking myself what it was about him that touched me in a special way, and then I found the answer. Last year I was struggling on whether to cancel my subscription to Broke Straight Boys or stay. I searched my private messages and found this written by Richard to me on April 3, 2016. This is what he wrote. Richard was a genuine man with a heart of gold.
"I am not trying to get into your business Louis but, is this really about your economic situation or as I'm inclined to feel, you do from time to time; like to bring up a topic of discussion to stimulate conversation and thought? Something I do admire. So often, the forum does have some thought provoking threads and provides (in my opinion) valuable feed back for the powers that be.
But, if it's about feeling that you've made some good friendships and fear loosing touch with those people, hell, there are a lot of different ways to keep in touch with others without keeping a 20.00 a month subscription to a porn site from which you get very little satisfaction from? Again, just my opinion. The way I see it, in this case, you have internet access to get Broke Straight Boys, that means you have e-mail capabilities, phone Twitter, Facebook and the list goes on....Not to mention "Gay chat forum?"
Taking advantage of the promotional specials offered to keep memberships going, is a very good idea too! I took advantage a while ago and now get Broke Straight Boys and College Dudes at a reduced price. (as long as I remain a member of both sites of course).
So, I just wanted to reach out to you. I responded to your thread as: I wanted to be supportive to your thread (for the very reasons I mentioned) and I also feel that people like to see reply's to their Topic of discussion threads. That's the part of the forum that keeps people connected (IMHO). When no reply's to a topic of interest, the people who started them (and I speak also from experience) feel; left out, ignored or that their concerns are not important enough to others. Maybe that's not how you feel? I don't know?
Anyway, good luck with your decision either way! I've enjoyed reading some of your comments because like I say, you do bring up some good topics for discussion, that don't always have to be about porn, but about "LIFE"! Thank you for that
Sincerely;
Richard
BTW: You haven't mentioned Linda in a while nor your daughter? Hope both are getting along well......."
