Richie West Newest YouTube Video

Yes. There are some sites out there that have left models truamatized and having episodes of PTSD. One is run by a guy from the past who I won't name here.

Vadim Black was one who came back to us looking like he was a war-weary refugee. He talked in vague terms about being an "assault" at another site. So the darker sides of the industry are defintely out there.

Very, very sad. I hope you were able to help him. What is his situation now.

Well it wasn't up to me. It was up to the staff of the site, and up to Vadim Black himself. I honestly don't know how he is faring now. Some of our other members who follow a lot of other social media may have a better idea than I.

Thank you to all of those who had positive and supportive feedback on My YouTube video! Hi Richie!! Good to see you pop on in here  I've started to watch your YouTube channel because of this thread. All the very best to you!!

I in no way wanted you to think I was blaming you. I just had hoped you could help him and of course he himself was also to blame poor fellow.

Saw this video on my fb newsfeed before this thread. I found his presentation an excruciatingly painful video to watch, and the content anything we've not heard or read by some of our other models of old.. I do not like people who say things about others and not name names. Moreover I believe that this was an attempt to enlist subscribers for his onlyfans site.

Much ado about nothing.

Yes. It is a plea to get more subscribers. Every video is a not so subtle commercial. lol But I don't fault him for that. He did give up a few more tidbits about his experience with the other site. We've pretty much figured out which one it is. As far as how Broke Straight Boys changed for him from the move from Atlanta to South Florida, we got more insight into his thinking on it. But I'd also say in defense of the Florida studio that with Covid still a big concern, that things at the new Broke Straight Boys place were not going to be "normal" times. Even if the Atlanta manse and studio had stayed in place it would not have been the same experince for Richie in the Covid days of early 2021. I also suspect that the new Broke Straight Boys lodgings are not the same as a mansion. So that alone will feel disappointing to a model already used to really high end accomodations.

I also agree that Richie's presentation style at this stage of his career does drag out at times and challenge the attention span. I dare say also though that I am much worse at public speaking. haha So I'm not sure I could really hold an audience's rapt attention in a monologue for 20+ minutes either. lol Perhaps if he shortened them to not more than 15 minutes or so, they would feel easier to process as a viewer.

As far as the Las Vegas gig I found it strange also that at night all kinds of non-models (or perhaps even former or non-working models at the time?) filtered into the house and socialized with the housemates. I don't agree with that in principle. There is more chance of breaking the STD quaratine from the models being tested. And the fact that some of them were rude or snooty to the new models in the house who had actually been invited to do actual work... It just seems all the more unprofessional and inappropriate for the staff of the site to allow and condone that to happen. Richie describes a kind of "Mean Girl" cliquish vibe that would be more expected in an immature evironment like a teeny or tweeny bop high school cafeteria rather than an over 18 adult business.

That studio doesn't sound very impressive. If you allow any outsiders to visit the house with models there, they should be on notice to behave themselves and to be reasonably polite at all times. Unfortunately though unprofessional owners and staff of sites are gonna do whatever they want.

this part of the video gave me a horrible feeling. Lol. I would never be able to work or live in an unruly situation. Especially with drinking involved. There’s nothing worse than being a sober individual and basically forced to live with people who are drinking and loud and unprofessional.

The Las Vegas studio for which Richie filmed was Helix, which does great twink content but has huge model turnover often with acrimonious departures. So Richie's comments about that studio from a model's perspective are probably right on. I found his overall comments about Broke Straight Boys to be positive. Obviously he misses Broke Straight Boys's pre COVID 19 Atlanta mansion days. Interesting that he remains open to returning to gay porn for the right price, which he defines as more than $1500 per scene. So the real issue may be that Richie is doing so well with his OnlyFans and other social media work that his price may have gone up! I've always been a fan of his and even took out a College Dudes membership for a year just to watch Richie's scenes over there.

I have been with Helix as a member from the beginning as with Broke Straight Boys and others .It seems as with CF some of their so-called new episodes are unused episodes from the past and 1 per week from Latino sources (for me group sex which most are, I found mostly not my cup of tea) They dropped their rating system (just have a like symbol) definitely setting the control issue aside a great drop in quality. Their new format is also for me hard to use, even saving videos more difficult (I have IDM which can't be use). I do not want to leave the impression this tars all the industry as I can name another American site that has excelled in its 3 per week episodes. But they use Euro players.

I agree KG. His comments about Broke Straight Boys are quite positive overall. As far as rate of pay he might mean earning more than $1500 in a whole weekend. But I'm not sure. But as we've discussed Richie seems to have a number in his head of what he feels his services are worth to a studio. So if they can match it or come close enough, maybe Richie will return. If not, he's content to do his own thing. :)

Tampa...I think Richie did have a good time here but you are correct by stating we don't have a "mansion" the models that have filmed in ATL and Denver in the "mansion", our home is not a mansion so when these guys do come here, its not the same. We do our best to make each guy that comes here as comfortable as we can make it and the newer guys have a blast because they never filmed in "the mansion" so they don't have that experience. Those guys that have filmed in the "Mansion" come here and are a bit shocked but once they settle down, meet and work with the newer guys and they realize Eddie and I are not crazy creepy guys, they all settle in and have fun.

Now, with your statement regarding Richie's return and filming here in Florida, I think that was the case but he did film in Jan. 2021. In the timeline of things, mid-March of 2020 the world closed down, and we did not film for several weeks because we had to figure out the proper safety protocols to take. Covid was very new to all of us in the world and here in the USA, so we just waited it out to see what to do next.

Once we got a game plan and figured out the best way to film to keep everyone (including us) safe, we started production up. We had a total lockdown and we had to stay inside. When Richie arrived with his group, we are already into covid-19 protocols, there was talk about a "shot or vaccine" I think in Jan. 2021, they started rolling it out but just for certain groups of people and we were not in that group.

So we had to stay with the lock-down and take safety precautions so the fact we had to stay inside and be in our own little bubble, and not filming in a wide open space and large home, I think came to a shock with Richie.

Since then as we all get a lot more educated with covid and most of us have had the "shot" we still test the models and we get tested as well but we are not so much in lock-down mode as well. We are now venturing out a bit more, still wearing the masks and we are not in large groups of people, we take the guys to Wilton Manors, show them around Miami a bit and if the weather permits, we let then have some beach time as well so we are being cautious with our lock-down but yet have some fun so I think when Richie comes here for his 2nd time around, he will have a lot more fun instead of being locked down like last time.

To me that is a sound and responsible approach for which I commend you and I hope other sites would do the same. I expect the responsible ones do not the others.

Yes David.

I'm sure you and Eddie do your best to make the models comfortable, as well as trying to keep them entertained in the down time in between shoots. I wholeheartedly agree that a model showing up in the midst of Covid restrictions is not going to have nearly as much fun as in pre-Covid days. And of course any model who shows up to the Broke Straight Boys studio now who has already worked and stayed in the Denver mansion or the Atlanta one, will arrive with a whole different set of expectations. Even more so if you feel like you have already built up a relationship of trust with staff who are now gone. So there is bound to be a feeling of letdown. In addition there is also going to be a stricter sense of home confinement due to the pandemic. And of course that's no insult to you or Eddie or your home base. It's just human nature to expect to have what you've had in the past. For those models who arrive with no experience filming porn and no preconceived ideas about what the setup will be, I'm sure most of them will have a good time and a very positive experience with Broke Straight Boys Just as those models of the futon days of yesteryear did. :)

Ugggh. Here’s the conversation that makes me look like an asshole, but I’m just curious, so please don’t get mad. It is a valid conversation.
We’ve previously discussed vaccinations and how most of us feel the entire studio should be vaccinated. David, I know you said that you and Eddie have gotten the vaccine, and I know some of the models have as well. Bentley Layne, for example, posted his vaccination card recently, so I’m sure there are many others who are doing their part. So, if blu-media can not require vaccinations, what happens when you have 4 models and 3 are vaccinated and 1 is not? I know you can’t “legally” ask if a person is vaccinated in the state of Florida, but the conversation is bound to come up between the models themselves
I can’t speak for the models, but I would want to know and I will say that if I were a model and knew another model was unvaccinated, I wouldn’t want to work with them AT ALL. Especially have sex with them.
Thoughts?

I'll let David respond to your questions above Jay. (If he chooses to.) That Florida proclamation by executivce order that our governor DeSantis signed into effect really riles me up. I don't agree with it. I get some of the well intentioned civil libertarian ideas behind it. Not that I give DeSantis too much credit for that being his real motivation. Ahem! It has also really hampered a return to normal for industries that crowd huge amounts of people together like the cruise lines for instance.

As I understand it certain employers are allowed to require vacinations of employees unless there is proof of a medical or religious reasons which prevent it. I could be wrong. But I know hospitals have fired some employees for refusing vaccinations. (Though some of them are suing and the coursts will have to hash it out.)

What I understand as illegal in Florida is for businesses to require a "vaccine passport" or the showing of proof of vaccination by customers in order to patronize said businesses.

Whenever you put someone on an honor system like boarding a cruise ship or entering a packed nightclub, (without requiring proof) you're still allowed to ask if they are vaccinated and they can surely lie. The kicker is that you can't legally discriminate against them even if they say they are unvaccinated. It's a mess.

oh Lord, the cruise industry. I know this isn’t the thread for this, but hear it goes. I have worked on cruise lines for over a decade. This bullshit of not requiring proof of vaccinations to board a cruise ship is a HUGE mistake and an inconvenience to all. Once that cruise ship sails out of Florida, the Florida law no longer stands. Every country has their own rules and regulations and if a certain country requires proof of vaccination, you better have it or you’re not getting off the ship in that country, plain and simple. What they will do is have their countries immigration officials board the ship and set up designated areas on the ship for EVERY PASSENGER to check in and show their proof of vaccination before any passengers are allowed off the ship. If the passenger doesn’t have it, they can’t leave the ship. Once all passengers have been checked, the ship then grants shore leave. This process can take up to 4 hours…..in every port. It cuts into shore time for all of the other passengers who took it upon themselves to do the right thing and get vaccinated.

So if DeSantis would just allow proof of vaccinations at the time of embarkation, it would eliminate everything I just stated. The cruise line would just give each country the documentation that all passengers and crew have been vaccinated and it would eliminate the need for the 4 hour process of checking each time and all of the passengers would get to leave the ship and enjoy their time ashore as early as possible.

Florida's deranged Governor being the exception having declared war on private property rights, but in most states just as a shop owner can post a "no shoes, shirts, NO SERVICE sign", so can he require the showing of a vaccination card as his property rights include the right to protect the health and safety of his employees and other customers. In most states, private employees can and do require proof of vaccination as a condition of employment. Where the right wing got the notion that they have a constitutional right to infect and kill other people escapes me.
