For a few points more

For 22.000 points you get to choose one of these fine gifts:

PS: For some reason I can only approve (or disapprove) only one of your messages at a time Jon. Now I am obligated to credit at least a few other people, before I can approve of disapprove any other message of yours. So I can't subtract your 22 points.

Bruce Forsythe used to say in one of his tv quiz games "Points make prizes". So where's me prize...

Does the little green square at the top right corner of the post have anything to do with "reputation"? If so, does it change color as your reputation changes? And if it has nothing to do with one's reputation, what is it?

Robb, I am as lost as you are with this new feature.

When I place my cursor, (I think that's the word) over the green box, I can read that the person is on a distinguished path, and some actually reference my friend Ms. K., but I have no idea who writes these things, and how we can view what our "reputation" is.

Being totally lost on this feature, I can't really say if I like it or not. Perhaps WebMonkey can give a more detailed explanation of how it works, or even better if Scorpio makes one of his little videos with pictures and arrows, for those of us from an older generation who are not at all savvy in what I assume are "social media" features on the internet. :anyone:

Thanks, Mike. I am a BIG fan of "show and tell".

Under the green square...why are some of us chopped liver while others are a bit special, and what has Ms K. (no offense to Ms. K) have to do with other posters?

I suspect it has something to do with either reputation points or similar. Assigning posters a colored square based on anonymous judgements doesn't seem like a balanced assessment to me.

I wish I was like Stowe and not be concerned about petty things like this, but I've been judged all my life, so it's a sore spot, and I didn't expect it to happen here!

If I'm wrong, I take it all back ...lol

I'm as confused as you are, dear. I don't think anyone has any answers except the ones who have implemented this feature. This is a forum of opinions and everyone has their own and unique opinion. Doesn't make them right or wrong and should have nothing with one's reputation. A simple "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" would be sufficient and I believe that is all my friend LoveLumps was asking for in the first place.

Perhaps we can get some answers soon that even a simple man like me can understand. I'm sure the whole thing is harmless, but I just don't understand it.

You're so calming Robb, and you're absolutely right, harmless is the perfect description, after all it's only a green square...although I really do dislike the color green...lol

I'm as confused as you are Grace, not offended, but rather confused.

I guess that WebMonkey & Mark didn't realize that many of us forumites are not computer savvy and we need detailed explanations on new features or changes to our current forum.

I feel confident that it will all be sorted out one way or another shortly.

I am just as confused as everyone else. I don't do much social networking, so I don't know anything about reputation features.

I am okay with the color green, I'm just happy it is not yellow.:scared:
