I am thoroughly enjoying this NCAA basketball season as my Duke Blue Devils are 17-2, 9-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and are ranked #2 in the country with the nations longest winning streak, currently at 13 in a row. And I’ve been watching other nationally ranked teams to compare and prepare to see the competition for March. I watched a great game between #1 Auburn and Tennessee last night. Both are great teams and Tennessee has a few really hot guys as well. :001_smile:

Igor Milicic Jr. from Croatia and J.P. Estrella, Freshmen from Maine caught my attention last night.

As college basketball reaches the final two weeks of the regular season, heading into “March Madness”, my Duke Blue Devils are having one of their best seasons in my memory lead by super Freshmen, Cooper Flagg who is expected to be the #1 pick in the NBA Draft this summer. But my interest is him leading the team to a National Championship. Last night at Madison Square Garden Duke beat Illinois 110-67, the worst loss in Illinois history. Yes they have injuries and illness but Duke is a great team.

Of course the allure of the NCAA Tournament is that it is a “one and done” deal, where one poor game and you are eliminated. Still four regular season games, and the ACC Tournament first and then the “Big Dance”. Just wanted to mention how exciting it has been to watch every Duke game this year!

This is the time of year when my two favorite sports team’s seasons begin to converge with the Yankees gearing up for Opening Day at Yankee Stadium in approximately two weeks on March 27th & the Duke Blue Devils begin post season play tomorrow in Charolette against the winner of today’s Virginia - Georgia Tech game. Duke finished the regular season ranked #1 with a 28-3 record. Sunday is Selection Sunday and Duke seems to be a lock for a number one seed.

The Yankees had been the pick to win the American League East this season with a good shot to reach he World Series again as they did last year, before losing to the Dodgers. But the injury bug has hit hard. These are the major injuries:

Gerrit Cole (elbow) - out for the year
Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) - on IL
DJ LeMahieu (calf) - shutdown
Luis Gil (lat) - out minimum 3 months

So Yankees GM, Brian Cashman has to wheel and deal to put together a roster with guys to replace the injured Yankees, but as the Yanks always seem to have a winning record and usually make the postseason, I have faith in Brian.

GO DUKE & GO YANKEES!!!

Duke won again on Saturday as the potential #1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Cooper Flagg continues to impress. I’m loving watching him play and improve game by game.

I agree that Cooper would be the #1 pic in the NBA draft, but he loves Duke and may stay if the NIL money matches or exceeds what a #1 NBA draft pic would receive. As a fellow Duke fan, this is what we should all hope for!

Duke did win the ACC Tournament on Saturday night and were given one of the four #1 seeds yesterday. Superstar Freshmen Cooper Flagg should be ready to play on Friday, but with a number one seed, Duke may not need Cooper in the first round Friday. The other number ones are Auburn, Florida and Houston. Let the games begin!!!

Yesterday Duke won the second round game of this year’s NCAA Tournament with another convincing win, this time over Baylor, 89-66. Cooper Flagg is healthy after the ankle scare last week and had another over-all superb game with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and a block. And he is a great defensive player too. He proved once again why he will be the #1 pick in the NBA Draft this June.

And Junior Tyrese Proctor from Australia is red hot shooting 9-10 with 7 three-point shots scoring 25 points. Duke moves into the Sweet Sixteen and plays Arizona on Thursday night. GO DUKE!!!

Today is a special day for MLB baseball fans. The long journey begins over six months, 162 games from the chilly early spring into the brutally hot and humid dog days of summer back to the chilly autumn nights, the grind of a regular season of a Major League Baseball team with unforeseen twists and turns, it is truly a daily soap opera for true fans.

:welcome: Back Baseball.

May everyone's team have a great year! Enjoy the season!

What a game! The Duke-Arizona game started after 10 PM and didn’t end until well after midnight but was well worth staying up for, (for me and Duke fans anyway). It was very close in the first half until the last couple of minutes. Duke seemingly broke the game open in the second half but Alabama came roaring back but Duke made clutch late plays and foul shots and held on to win 100-93. Superstar Freshmen, 18 year old Cooper Flagg had a game for the ages, with 30 points. 6 rebounds, 7 assists and three blocks and was a defensive stud as always. Cooper is special.

Now on to the Elite Eight on Saturday night to play the red hot Alabama Crimson Tide who beat BYU 113-88, hitting a record 25 three-point shots. It should be another classic but for now I am thrilled that Duke is moving on to the next round. GO DUKE!!!
