Hi Sha,

I was talking to one of my fellow forumites last night and he asked me a question about you. When you and I met at NYC Pride in 2012, we had a long chat, but I forgot the answer to this question.

Other than attending, hosting and chaperoning the models at the Pride events, what are your other duties for Broke Straight Boys, BluMedia and Mark? I believe you have told us your home is in Atlanta, but you travel to Denver to the Broke Straight Boys house, so we were wondering what you do when not attending events?

You are a real great people person, and I'm sure you are an asset to Mark, so we were just wondering.

Thanks.

Mike,
I want to first thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you in 2012 at NYC Pride. I enjoyed our conversation. In short, I am the COO (Chief Operation Officer) for BluMedia. In addition, I have my own company with a business partner but my primary focus is with BluMedia. I do live in Atlanta but it seems that I am not there very often as I spend time each month in Denver. I also still do events as I enjoy them and feel that this is one of the best ways to stay in tuned with what members need.

Thanks Sha. I hope my friend is reading this as you have answered our question. Keep on doing what you do so well.

1. At least that's a rational reason for going to Atlanta the past 4 years, as opposed to none given as to why the repetitive visits to the same SoCal cities every year.

2.That is truly a small sample given how many of the same cities you go to each year. But it is better than nothing, because you surely don't respond to any challenging questions put forth on the forum. The easy questions are easy, but the challenging ones just might make you give some thought to the process of selecting events and God forbid that should happen.

Stowe,

I am not sure why you are so bitter at me. I do apologize however if I ever offended you in any way. I am also sorry if I don't always give you the answers as you need them. I am sure that you can understand that we are not always able to answer every single question that everyone has but we certainly try to answer the ones that we can. I also understand your disappointment with our selections from year to year on events but I assure you that we are doing the events that best serve our companies growth. I appreciate you being a loyal member of the site and I am sorry for anything that I could have possibly ever done to not meet your approval.

As far as I know Sha nobody else feels this way about you. Don't take those comments to the heart buddy. p.s. tell Mick I love him! lol

You are very much loved in here Sha. If you could just give everyone the answer they wanted to hear, you'd be considered a saint. lol Of course every member would like to be told that an event with some of their favorite models will be coming up within an easy drive of their hometowns. That's just not always possible though.

Stowe,

I am not sure why you are so bitter at me. I am not bitter at you. I have never said anything to or about you that is nasty, bitter, or derogatory. What I am is plain spoken and blunt. I don't use alot of flowery adjectives or blow smoke up people's asses. If you took my manner as one of bitterness, that's your emotional sensiblitiy and I can't help that.

I do apologize however if I ever offended you in any way.You have never offended me personally in any way; believe me if I thought you had, I would let you know. What I find offensive is when questions which are asked to you and mgmt in general, and I'm not just talking about me, and they aren't even acknowledged and if they can't be answered at least say as much.

I am also sorry if I don't always give you the answers as you need them. I am sure that you can understand that we are not always able to answer every single question that everyone has but we certainly try to answer the ones that we can. Here is where I have a problem with not only you, but mgmt in general. It appears to me that you answer the easy questions or only the ones you guys want us to know the answer to. I can understand your not being able to discuss personnel matters (which have been asked many times by members or financial matters (which I can't recall this type ever being asked). I am not going to catalog the many questions I have asked which were never answered, but here's one: I asked, since in previous years the list of Broke Straight Boys Pride events was published at the beginning of the year, like Feb. or Mar., why this year it wasn't but rather were dribbled out like an old man taking a piss with an enlarged prostate. Seems like a relatively simple question to answer since you obviously have to plan ahead of time; but the question was never answered. I could go on and on and give you a list of other unanswered questions, but really what would the point of that be?

I also understand your disappointment with our selections from year to year on events but I assure you that we are doing the events that best serve our companies growth.Again, this is where I disagree and anyone with a rudimentry knowledge of marketing and advertising would too. If you want to grow any company, you have to go into markets where you have little or no presence. You have to take the chance on expanding your brand. You go to some of the same cities year after year and I can't believe you attain anything more than a small incremental growth in them. Do you really have to go to all those cities in SoCal every year. Why not alternate - Californians are use to driving; and use the funds to go to places you need to grow in. Sometimes you have to do events for reasons other than market growth. Denver is an example. While I'm sure you can grow there, even if you can't, it makes sense because it is the home of BluMedia. And, of course, I will go to my grave insisting that you should go to NYC Pride every year because of its historical importance to the gay rights movement - but I understand reasonable people can disagree on this (althouh any one who disagrees is irrational - lol!!).

I appreciate you being a loyal member of the site and I am sorry for anything that I could have possibly ever done to not meet your approval.I do enjoy the site; if I didn't, given my financial situation, I wouldn't be here. It is not a matter of meeting my approval. What I do think it is a matter of is that, long before I became a member, this site was created and along with it a forum. At some point management decided to participate in the forum. If questions are asked, they should at least be acknowledged if they can't be answered. I find it offensive when they are not.

Sha, I had to think for quite a while before I answered your post. And the only reason I did so was because you said some things pertaining to me which I had to address. Other than that, I think this is an exercise in futility because I do not think things will change with respect to questions being answered or Pride Event selections. And to be truthful with you, I really don't care. I will keep asking questions that I feel need to be asked, they won't get answered, and I will harangue, and the cycle will continue.

And just to be clear, I think you are quite a personable man with a winning personality which I have stated more than once on past threads pertaining to Broke Straight Boys events during my time here.

See my post above. Perhaps you should ask me how I feel about someone, rather than assuming that remarks of a non-personal nature are cloaked mysteriously as personal. Those comments were business related ones and not personal.

You are very much loved in here Sha.

If you could just give everyone the answer they wanted to hear, you'd be considered a saint. lol I am the last person on earth who ever wants someone to give me answers they think I want to hear. That is not in my DNA - I have lost friends because I have told them what I think instead of what they want me to say to them. If sha or any member of mgmt would answer more than just the easiest of questions, or if questions can't be answered at least acknowledge that they have been asked and explain why they can't be answered, then they'd all be saints.

Of course every member would like to be told that an event with some of their favorite models will be coming up within an easy drive of their hometowns. See my post (#8) above. I just don't see from a business viewpoint going to some of the same cities year after year, if the point is to grow the company. That's just not always possible though.

Since I have no responsibility, I will share how I would choose which cities to visit. I have a personal bias toward southern california cities, California cities, southwestern cities, the south, strong gay-friendly cities, and emerging gay communities. while my bias may show from time to time, I will try to reach my conclusions using reasoning.
one of the earliest pride events is in phoenix, porn ripe age and other demographics. long beach, in the middle of may, before the pride seasonal rush begins is the right weather and choice. then come the rush. Washington, boston, l a, Philadelphia are at the same time, early june. I would choose Washington, because of its history. Denver is in the next set of cities. New York, Houston, Chicago, san Francisco, and st louis are at the end of june. since I lived in the new York city area, I would pick nyc. however, if I lived in st Louis, I might pick that pride event. san diego pride is in the july, after the june pride season. Atlanta pride is in October and palm springs is in November ending 6 months of pride events.

Stowe,
The only reason why events were posted earlier this year is the simple fact that I am the one that has posted them in the past. Earlier in the year I took on many more responsibilities with the company and I simply just didn't have the time to post everything. I know it only takes a second to post where we are going to be and I understand the importance of doing so as members want to know where we are so they can plan their schedules accordingly. This is something that I hope to get better at moving in to 2014. This has been an overwhelming year with many moving parts to BluMedia and sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day. I sit here right now typing this with a long list of things that I have to get done for the company before I get some rest to head to the airport in 6 hours to go to Palm Springs for Pride. It is very rare that you find a pay porn site where the admin. participate in the forums or sites that even have forums. I think that this is a very important part of our company and I am certain it will always continue. We would all like to be on the forums more as we gain a lot of knowledge from our members but again there are many moving parts to this company and unfortunately we don't always have the time to get all the questions answered that need to be. I will certainly try to do a better job at this in the future.

Regarding events. I am sure that we will never see eye to eye on which events we should do but we do add new events each year. Of course we also go back to the same cities year after year as well. I wish we had a larger team to double up some times and do more events but unfortunately we don't. Although I may not always make the correct decisions and some may not agree, I do have 17 years experience in marketing in the adult industry as well as an additional 8 years in mainstream marketing so I do take in consideration the best interest of our company.

It is very rare that you find a pay porn site where the admin. participate in the forums or sites that even have forums. That's the trouble setting precedents, people keep expecting them. Given how busy you all are, perhaps you all should step back and tell us that while you will continue to follow the forum as time allows, you will not post except to disseminate information about the site and site-related activities. That way we will know the procedure and not think that mgmt is ignoring our inquiries. I think that this is a very important part of our company and I am certain it will always continue. We would all like to be on the forums more as we gain a lot of knowledge from our members but again there are many moving parts to this company and unfortunately we don't always have the time to get all the questions answered that need to be. Of course we also go back to the same cities year after year as well This is a perfect example of not answering a question. You state that you go back to the same cities year after year, but you don't say why you do so, especially if the purpose of all of this is to grow the company.. I wish we had a larger team to double up some times and do more events but unfortunately we don't. Although I may not always make the correct decisions and some may not agree, I do have 17 years experience in marketing in the adult industry as well as an additional 8 years in mainstream marketing so I do take in consideration the best interest of our company.I spent a significant part of my professional business career in marketing as well, albeit not in the adult industry. And there are different marketing schools of thought. But I'm not aware of one which does not hold that your marketing, advertising, and other promtoional activites should be geared to the purpose of enhancing a company's share in its marketplace. And I don't see how you do that by spending money going to the same saturated markets year after year.

Sha, you needn't worry about me. I'm done with this subject. I could care less if you go only to SoCal cities and Denver for the rest of time. I'm sure you do what you think is in the best interest of the company. I wouldn't think otherwise because I believable you to be an honorable and professional man.

I really have to say for myself, I do find that Sha's statement, "It is very rare that you find a pay porn site where the admin. participate in the forums" to be one of the major things that keep me a member. I enjoy reading comments by the models and that they promote their work and reach out to their fans, I also like that Mark and other members of Blu Media staff reach out to members when they can. From thanking members for their support, enjoying comments posted, and even sharing their thoughts on a thread,...these are definitely things other sites (that I've visited) don't offer! I obviously enjoy the interaction with other forum members! It's rare (if at all) that I actually feel the need to say: THANK YOU (Blu-Media) FOR ALL THAT YOUR SITE AND STAFF OFFER through what I consider a very reasonable member ship fee! I am very appreciative!:sun:

You're so right Betu. People can call me a brown-noser or an a** sucker or whatever. But even though I am a paying customer of the site, there are many times that I feel that it should be me thanking all of the site employees and mgmt for all they do for us.

It doesn't mean that they are perfect. It doesn't mean that they get everything right, all the time. But I always know that they are trying, they mean well and their hearts are in the right place.

Damien, I spent the good part of an hour with Sha along with four models at NYC pride 2012 and he was stone sober, and still funny, charming, engaging and informative. I admire and respect Sha for his honesty and openness with me the very first time we met.

In Yiddish Sha would be known as a mensch (a person of integrity and honor.)
