Porn Piracy on the Net (Great Article)

uploading someone else's material to a free access website is wrong.

I have to say, I agree with your sentiments Another1. I can see everyone's perspective on this subject too. I personally prefer to view material, in it's entirety knowing that I have paid my fee, dues or whatever. When I think of the impact pirating had on the music industry a few years back, many of the artists who's music I enjoyed were either directly or indirectly affected. And of course, there was that whole situation back in the days of artists like "Frankie Lymon" and countless others', who were literally cheated out of money by their own producers......(let me get back on topic). I like free stuff too, depending on what it is but, I also realize that Free means, someone else has already paid or contributed. It's about "How would I feel if someone pirated something I put time and money or skill into"?

I bet you God fearing people would take take a $10 note that you found in the street to the local police station. Yeh...

Jon, when I think of "Doing the right thing", I don't think it makes me a better person than anyone else in a similar situation. It just makes me feel better as a person to know that I did.:001_cool:

Back on track, I will continue to use the free sites because I don't feel bad about it. I have 2 x annual subscriptions to this site and College Dudes so I do put money back into the business.

your subscription is appreciated, I am sure. I know your membership in the forum is appreciated by me. however, I don't understand your posture. I lay out my views and you respond with dismissive retorts.
I too put money in mark's pockets. I feel that supporting sites that show his videos, for free, is like watching his pockets being picked. some of that money in his pocket came from me.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one A1.

I have been a subscriber to Corbin for several years. Awhile back he got fed up with his scenes being pirated so he started a plan: when you find a pirated scene you send the address to Corbin and he has it removed from the illegal site. After you have reported so many scenes you get a "gift." I have gotten several DVDs from him. I think it's a great idea...steal material and get sued. While I pay for 3 sites (Corbin, Sean and Broke Straight Boys) I do wander around the free sites on occasion and am amazed at how many Broke Straight Boys scenes have been stolen. It really is incredible.

The answer is of course is why don't the main sites put time and money into getting their lawyers onto the free sites. It's simple - the public check out and like the films and thereafter they join the sites. Sure not all do that but wtf, if it's there then use it.

people don't report piracy, because it would halt their access. most sites have lawyers sent cease and desist letters and file papers with the courts when they have actionable information. but in the final analysis, it is about supply and demand. there is a market for free material. the source be damn!

Great article. All adult companies are affected by piracy on a daily basis. The biggest thing that is affects is the models. The pay for models have gone way down because of all the stolen porn. We actually have ways of tracking stolen videos now but it is still a daily battle.
