Past Jobs!!

thank you for your kind words.
after that war ended, people confused service personnel with political policy.
they took displeasure with policy out on those called to service.
my third job involved trying to help veterans of vietnam to obtain gainful activities (a job) and to move toward a career. my joy was in my many successes. however, forty years later, some of those veterans who were not helped are the large number of the homeless until this day.

My first job was working for a restaurant that just opened in my home town. I lied and said I was 16. It was an ice cream/sandwich place. I scooped ice cream to start. But, my personality was such they asked me to be a waiter. I was the only waiter in sea of waitresses. They didn't like me to much because I made more tips than they did. I told them "If you're nice, they'll tip better". When they wanted to start pooling the tips and divide them equally.....I quit. Went across the way and worked for the cinema. That was fun. Watch all the movies and all the popcorn I can eat. The next was The Gap "would you like socks with that". Hated it. But, I can't even tell you how many times I've had to return to retail. I was VERY lucky to be able to quit that job and tour Europe for a short while. I was gone the whole Summer that year. It was great fun. I was very fortunate to go. When I returned I went to work for a book store. Since I love to read, it worked out.
I then worked at a College Dudes shop. It was a blast. All the characters I worked with. You can just imagine. Still chat with a few of them on Facebook. Once the shop closed I went back to the mall. Worked at a card/kitschy place. It was fun because I worked with these two crazy girls who were so funny. The most fun I've ever had with my Sister was the one day we worded together at that shop. We laughed so much that day. My apartment ended up being decorated by this joint.....for free. I then went to work at the front desk of a hair salon. A lot of drama. But, met my best friend there. A million years later I still consider him my bestie. lol A lot of drugs there. Was strung out for a few years. Was "relieved of my position" when I discoverd the owners were embezzling money. They ended up getting what they deserved. Such ass holes.
Next came a "travel store". Retail. Sold all you needed for a trip to where ever. Back packs....money belts....travel guides. All we listened to was music from the world. I just toned it out. I grew to love Vienna Waltzes and The Gypsy Kings because of that place. Then went to work for a catalogue call center. They sold men's clothes. It was fun. We all were the same age. We went out a lot. I think I showed up to that job hung over every weekend.
I then decided to go to college. It was that or prostitution. lol I decided that the day they raised the bus fee 25 cents. My friends and I had to walk to work because we couldn't afford it. So, I did some difficult thinking. It just happened to coincide with my Mother needing me. So I moved to rural Nevada from So Cal. It was a culture shock beyond belief. But, I'm glad I did it. I got off drugs and started going to school....but, was bored to death. Northern Nevada can be very boring. By the time I left there, my hair was long and was hanging out with professional snow boarders from Tahoe and the surrounding area. Moved to Oregon to continue school. Worked as a janitor for the theater I would later work for. That was a great gig. Done by 1pm and keys to the entire complex.....which was the entire city. lol Worked for them until I graduated. I then traveled around the West coast to shake off 5 years of school. Went back to SoCal to visit. I was about to go to San Francisco when I received a call from a costume designer who wanted me to come work for her. She had just been hit by a car and busted here arm and wrist. I was informed I was the only one in town who could do the work and I wouldn't get this opportunity right out of school AND if it wasn't for the fact that everyone in town was working.......I wouldn't be given this chance. Needless to say I took the job. Which led to my first broadway bound play.

I figure that is enough for now.

isnt it funny, how just having the slightest bit of ignorance can cause so much unhappyness.. when America would not help these homeless veterans who risked their lives IRONICALLY so the morons who neglected them could keep their job... SICK! literally makes me sick.

Where was your favorite/least favorite job?
Hum my favorite job is my current one. I love everything about it and love the freedom it gives me. My least favorite job was the one when I was 15 (see below)

How do you remember your formal boss(s)? Mean? Kind?
I've had lots of jobs but remember Pizza Hut the most. One of my best friends was a shift manager so I got away with just about anything. The main manager seemed a bit clueless.

Why did you advance to a different job? What is your current job?
I advanced to different jobs to pay my bills so I could start my own porn company in 1996. When I started my porn company I was a courier delivering misc items around the city. My current job is running this site. :)

Any cool/embarrassing stories that might of happened to you or someone else?
I have tons of stories from Pizza Hut. A co-worker and myself made up our our pizza and we called it the dick lovers because his name was dick. Now keep in mind this was back when I was straight and dating a girl lol. So I was saying stuff like I really want a dick lovers lol.

I once had an order for a large pepperoni lovers with XP XP XP which is extra pepperoni so I proceeded into the cooler and got an entire box or pepperoni and dumped it on the pizza. My friend took it out of the oven and almost dropped it because it was so heavy. We later got a complaint there was too much pepperoni LOL and I thought I was doing them a favor.

I was written up only once and that was for cutting up a large pizza into 30+ slices lol.

I would organize trading with other places like Red Lobster, Red Robin, Taco Bell, Bennigans, Little Caesars etc. So we would trade pizza's for different food.

Some co-workers moved my friends car and proceeded to saran wrap it and did it so well we had to cut through it to open my friends car doors lol.

I got drunk one night at a party and put a sumbraro on and after that moment I thought I was chinese lol. Yeah I know a sombrero isn't exactly chinese but it was magical. Even the cops came and I was trying to speak chinese. The next day I walked into works and everybody bowed to me and was trying to speak chinese like I did LOL.

The fastest delivery I ever made was within 7 minutes. I saw it was a block away and rushed as fast as I could and didn't get a tip. :(

What was your first job? How old?
Besides shoveling snow, delivering papers and mowing grass when I was young my first real job was when I was 15. I worked at a trap shoot loading clay pigeons into a machine so people could shoot them lol. The thing about this first job is I had to take 2 buses to get there then walk 3.5 miles to get there to only make 2.30 an hour lol.

What was your first hourly pay?
2.30 an hour because I wasn't 16 yet.

in my retirement, i spend my days speaking with public officials to get things done.
i take great pleasure in them announcing a great new idea. more so when i recognize it as something i had been mentioning. the process is never overnight and always a wonderment as to what took so long. my says to me, but you got no credit. i say, sometimes when you do things just right nobodys sure you did anything at all.
the only thing left in pandora's box is hope.

UHG that sucks about the tip.. i know how you feel everyday at my serving job. Clay pigeons, wow you really come a whole hell of a long way..

what made you get into the porn industry?

treat those that dispise you with loving kindness. if nothing else it drives them crazy.
those that deserve love the least, need it the most.

Good grief Blake! I've had so many jobs, where do I begin?

Okay, well, I started working at 12 (we was po!) I did baby sitting jobs from 12 to about 15. I also did yard work those same years. I still love to do yard work, but for fun now, I find it very therapeutic. I then got a "real job" digging graves at a cemetery. This was before they used backhoes for grave digging. I hated that job, lol, and stayed only about 4 months.

At 15, I got a job in retail in a department store thanks to my uncle, who was the asst. manager. I worked there till I had turned 16 when I went to work at a grocery store as a bag boy, you know, the boys who bag your groceries and take them to your car. A year later I was made a cashier simply because I had photographic mind and could remember the prices of all food items in the store.

That grocery store was where I worked with Donnie, the boy I wrote about in "Tales of Lust and Seduction". Then I went away to college and spent the first year there without working. But, in my second year I got another job in another grocery store for about year.

After that, I got a job at a local tourist attraction. I worked the gondola, helping people in and out of them. From there I went to another tourist attraction and got a job guiding tours into caves. Both jobs were pretty meaningless, but they were fun. After that, I went to work for Kentucky Fried Chicken. I had a blast working there and I became the manager of the store within a year. I did that until my boss, a regional manager, brought his nephew in to run the store. I quit, after I slept with him, lol.

Then I moved and got a job as a night watchman at a school for "special children". Did that for about a year. Then I got a job as a bank teller in a university department store. That was huge fun! I cashed checks for students and took payments for books and school supplies. I also got to meet many guys in the process. While I did that, I got a second job at a restaurant as a cook.

I finally landed a really good job working as an attendant in a school for the mentally deficient. We made sure they got up and got dressed, then we kept the kids on track going to their classes or work training. We also gave them their medications. While I was there, I went to work on a building full of deaf boys. That was one of my favorite jobs, ever. I worked with the deaf boys for 3 years. It was a state institution and we got all sorts of discounts taking the kids to the movies, and all sorts of places. We took the kids camping and I had to learn to drive a school bus to transport the kids. The school was full of college kids working on many of the dorms, there were about 20, and provided me with the contacts that I also wrote about in my thread about seduction. A couple of years later, I returned to that school and got a job as a lab assistant. I went around the campus collecting blood samples from the kids almost on a daily basis. They were on heavy drugs that required frequent blood tests to check their drugs levels, and checking to see if the drugs were affecting their liver or kidneys. It was a challenging task since these kids didn't always understand why we were sticking needles in their arms. Still, it was a fun job and I worked with some cool ladies.

I moved to Houston after that job and started my careers in health care. My first job, I was hired as an orderly, but hired to drive an ambulance to transport patients from one hospital to another. I did that for about a year. I also did patient care when not driving the ambulance. Then I worked as a Pharmacy tech, a CNA, and as a unit secretary on several nursing stations. I went to nursing school, but didn't finish and instead, went to respiratory school and became a therapist, for 25 years. 4 years ago, I got a gig as a teacher which I still hold today. This latest job has been verrrryyyy good also. I love teaching kids and inspiring them to achieve all the greatness they hold within them.

When I retire, haha, like that will happen. I am actually making plans to start a food truck. Either that, or, open a home for the elderly. Actually, I prefer to do the food truck, but I am just so suited at doing elderly care. One thing I always hated working in the hospital, was watching people die alone. So, my home would be more like a hospice for those dying of just old age. I can't think of anything greater than to give people peace, loving care, and dignity in death. But, we shall see.

So, that sums it up!

Blake if you find that interesting and want to hear some more......I'll continue.
Don't want to bore folks.

Isn't it amazing how life works out? I'm not bored at all Justwicked. Please continue if you like. :)

Oh, I forgot to mention. My first hourly pay, was for about 90 cents/hour. I now earn about $37.00/hour.

My first job was an afternoon receptionist in a doctor's office after school, my junior and senior year.

My worst job........it is a toss up between working in a day care, there is way too much cleaning. I never wanted to take care of my own cleaning, after doing it all day at work. I also had a summer job at 7-11 once. My drawer was off by 16 cents on my first day, and the manager told me that I didn't have a "retail" mind.

My best job is now. I coordinate programs for at risk youth. I never get bored. I do something to help people every day........If they only paid me better, life would be perfect.

isnt it funny, how just having the slightest bit of ignorance can cause so much unhappyness.. when America would not help these homeless veterans who risked their lives IRONICALLY so the morons who neglected them could keep their job... SICK! literally makes me sick.

Even though you didn't live through it Blake you already grasp the immaturity, injustice and the pure gall in the way many of the veterans were treated back then. And this was by people who were much older and (supposedly) wiser than yourself. Since they felt helpless to express their anger and strike a blow at "the establishment" over the war...a man hitchhiking in uniform on the corner was a much more convenient and easy target. I was a little tot myself when the war started so I can only just sort of remember the end of the war.

But many soldiers returning home would hitchhike back in those days to get to their final destinations. Many times they would get rides from kind and helpful strangers. Other times not. So on a corner or the side of the road would be this 19-24 y/o guy who was drafted against his will and would get home on leave. Or if he was lucky, he was home for good. All he probably wanted was to do was get home and see his mom and dad, his brothers and sisters...and his favorite grandma. Maybe he was fantasizing about what favorite home cooked meal he might ask for. All the while comforted by the thought of sleeping in his own bed for the first time in years.

Then a car pulls up next to him with a different kind of driver and passengers. They roll down the window and he approaches eagerly. Maybe they spit at him, call him a "Baby Killer!" and/or they might throw trash at him from inside the car...before taking off and leaving him in their dust. It's a very sad tale that is now part of our history.

The only consolation is that many of those same people who took out their anger over the war on the soldiers themselves, did later come to their senses with the benefit of wisdom and hindsight. While they can't change the past, many of them do feel embarrassment and great shame over their past actions.

However there's still no excuse for how we treat the homeless veterans of that war. :(

UHG that sucks about the tip.. i know how you feel everyday at my serving job.

If you walked up to my table Blake, introduced yourself, and just smiled at me...you'd be pretty much guaranteed a 20% tip. haha

In all seriousness though I tend to be one of those who tips well. The service has to be pretty horrible for me to tip less than 15%. lol My sister did alot of serving in her younger life, so all of my family tends to be good tippers. If the service is good and/or I really liked the server, then I will often exceed a 20% tip.

I'll share one quirk about my string of luck in restaurants that drives me insane. haha I'll walk into a restaurant either by myself, with a group of male friends, or a group of both male and female friends, and usually a pretty hostess will seat us. When I come in I can see a bunch of hot and hunky male servers working the floor. Invariably I will get one of the only female servers in the whole place. haha Sometimes there is only one female in sea of male servers. But I'm the one who gets her. lol I can be seated where really cute male servers are waiting the table in front of me, beside me, behind me and all around. :) My luck on that count is horrible! haha

I guess the hostess assumes that she's doing me/us a favor by giving us a female server. Or it's just my sad luck of the draw. If they only knew! haha So many times when I enter a restaurant I want to say, Could you please seat me in the section with that waiter over there? But of course I don't. :)

Gosh Mark. Thanks for sharing all that with us. When we live it it doesn't sound so interesting. But to look back on it can make it seem extraordinary.

Tampa,

Perhaps you are gifted and people don't assume you are gay. I on the other hand, open my mouth, and people presume that I am. That has its draw backs, on the other hand, it frees me to be myself. When I go into a restaurant, I DO ask the hostess to put me in the section with the cutest waiter. They usually just laugh and place me where I want. On the meantime, they have already alerted the waiter-to-be, and that too can be a plus, or a minus. The clever waiters know to come to my table with all their best charm, and they are tipped accordingly! I make it a point to take a $10 or $20 bill to tip my waiter, above, the table tip, and I always give it to them in their own hand.
