Here's my thought on that, and then I'll drop it. Qwerty, whether male, female or transgender, makes no difference to me. Ignorance is ignorance regardless of where it comes from. To treat her any differently than someone else because of her gender is pretty darn condescending.

Perhaps having known a hustler or two in my life as well as porn stars and having them be equated as the same things, chaps my hide a bit. There's a totally different mindset and process between the two.

Harlan Ellison said it best, I think: "People do not have a right to an opinion. They do however, have a right to an informed opinion".

OK, and here's the last thing I'm going to say as well. The piety I referred to earlier was the prissy dissing of a person, by more than one of us, who purely incidentally identifies himself/herself as female and is a poster on this forum and who has views that I don't share on most things but who has come up, maybe coincidentally but hey, with the idea of the Director for a Day or Week (which makes her sort of cool), for expressing her opinion, "informed" or not, on the connection between selling your ass as a porn actor and selling it as a sex worker. My mother is "informed" 24/7 by Fox News, and has strong opinions on everything; informed opinion is a chimera.

Conclusion: Guys who escort often have a mate they work with when their punters are interested in jacking off while the two pros put on a show for him. Such a service is offered on many of the web profiles of these guys on any gay contact site out there. Here we have prostitutes who are having sex with each other in front of a client, who could also be called a "subscriber" or a "member" even though that's not the standard nomenclature, in order that he get off while masturbating. On their profiles they also specify if they're OK with their "performance" being filmed. Qwerty30 is wrong in her opinion, but at the same time she's much more right than anyone has given her credit for.

I recognize that this suggests only that a prostitute can do porn, but not that a porn model automatically is open to offers as a prostitute. It absolutely depends on the guy. Young straight guys who go back to their non-porn lives to live in the family home after a secret shoot for Broke Straight Boys would normally not turn into sex workers just because they danced on a bar top for tips at a corporate event. But a bunch of them have, for sure.

Well, she for one wouldn't argue about that. But many people who pay for a subscription to a porn site don't have the option you offer them. For one reason or another they aren't the types to seek the services of a sex worker, either because of domestic circumstances, timidity, low self esteem, financial factors, bad health, fear of failure, discretion, laziness or lack of access.

I think I know what you mean by pussy footing: being careful with my words and trying to couch the message in an overly diplomatic way--but I don't feel that my feet were all that pussyish in regard to qwerty30.
