On a Brooklyn Street

Today I saw a guy in his 30's ( I guess) dressed up as a s/m slave wearing the usual street attire sneakers and jeans short haircut BUT his ear lobes were stretched out and a big hole at the end. He had a tremendous nose ring of chrome and a dog collar. He was walking behind a guy in his late 50's normally dressed. They walked down the street near where I live. Its residential and full of families and some gay families too. In a video Id probably get into it but this was reality. Why would any guy do that to himself? does he have a family? what would they think? If he went to a dr. for any reason or an emergency what would he think and how would he treat him? Could he possibly have a job? When he gets older what will happen to him? It truly upset me worrying about him.

jc - did the older guy have a chain hooked on to the dog collar? What was it about their demeanor that led you to believe this was an master/slave situation? Just curious. I've seen a few instances of this back in the day, but there was usually some outward sign denoting the relationship. Of course, times change so I'm wondering about this encounter. Thanks.

Well DrabBoiz, like Joeychuck, I also live in Brooklyn and other than the hip trendy neighborhoods, I would not expect to see this in most of Brooklyn which are family neighborhoods. And come to think of it, living in New York City my whole life, I can't recall ever seeing it in Manhattan or elsewhere outside of the kinky sex bars I'd go to back in the 70's & early 80's like The Mine Shaft and The Anvil. Maybe I've lead a sheltered life.

Johnny's lived in the mostly openly gay city in the US, during the era when San Francisco became the gay mecca. I most certainly do believe that Johnny has "seen it all", and probably "lived it all", or at least a whole lot of it in his time.

the slave walked VERY closely behind the master. When he slowed the slave slowed. I was stopped at a red-light when they crossed in front of me. The guys ears and nose ring were so strange. His ears had to be 7" or so and the holes in the lobes made it appear like 2 strings. The size of the nose ring made of chrome was tremendous. The master was as average in dress as you could be. .

You mention the 70's and bars like the mine shaft and anvil. I remember those days fondly. I never actively participated in s/m but liked to watch and get involved somewhat. There was that place on 8th avenue and 40th st opposite a small fire house. You got into an elevator and got off and paid admission. There were 3 floors each with a different motif. mostly dark. One was a movie theatre with gay porn and back rooms. Another a big room with carpeted bunks and a pool table in the middle. The 3rd was a park at night . It was 24/7 .
There was so many of them until Giuliani closed them down. I bet we met or maybe in the same places at the same time. we lived through those pre post HIV days.

Love All In The Family. I put it on my DVR and watch it daily. Funny you said that I just watched a repeated episode with a transvestite in it, Beverly. She was a female impersonator. As I remember there were a few episodes with her and it ends in her death on Christmas Eve. Edith doesn't want to go to church anymore after that. They always did controversial topics. He would say " Oh my gawd" if he saw that guy. BTW as I said I felt sorry for him as it might be fun to watch in a scene but in reality he ruined his life.
