Need your opinions on members area

I think the members on the Forum have done allot to inspire recent changes. However, change should be slow amd progressive. Making change slowly makes sure that the formula for success isn't damaged. It almost seems like every time mgt. answers a question we all have a solution or opinion of how to fix it. In essence that is good. However; making change is more than getting and receiving good ideas. Often times there is a need to conduct sample market testing and so forth. I do think David and Mark do throw us a Dildo from time to time so that we can scratch our itch for knowledge. LOL

Right on. But we are supposed to be the market research; that's what this forum was invented for. Blu could try "Thinking Obama" for a change and react quickly and creatively to ideas that strike a chord with them. As a consultant I've often been paid embarrassingly large amounts, not to tell a client anything especially radically new, but to put in perspective and prioritize what he already sensed or had actually perceived.

Dickhead noticed the same thing that I have in regard to Blu ignoring the hard questions and the hard questioners. If we butter our posts with lots of LOL and Great Job and Thanks From the Bottom of My, we sometimes get answers. But a direct query, maybe a bit thorny, just floats on by, floatin', floatin', don't ask, don't tell...a fart in the down elevator that just gets ignored.

Oh, I hear you. I realize you guys have merit for your questions too. I just think that there is a better way to resolve the improprieties that may be different.

Jayman, when I post questions on the Forum, they are general in nature, agreed, some are pointed, but overall general questions that I think the members of the Forum would be interested in seeing answered. I'm not asking for a complete home makeover here, tweaks, minor alterations, semblance of order, these are changes that don't require lengthy consultations, or studies to fix.

What it does take is someone to be in charge and make a decision. "Hey we're getting a little sloppy in the sequencing of the episodes, let's tighten that up" "Check your work on the narratives" "I've had feedback that we are not being timely in our responses to our members, check your posts and answer them" These are quick fixes that don't require consultants or studies, just someone to be in charge and be able to give direction and guidance.

Any good ship of commerce sails smoother with a firm captain who's not afraid to give hard orders and a crew that follows them.

I would love to see my fave CF boy here, Travis, (looks like my first lover boy) it's not happening. My ideal, but this is Broke Straight Boys NOT CF!! I'm sorry, some posters are too critical. There are other websites out there. Go to them! I don't mean to be nasty, but, guys, kind of mean!

Aye, aye, Captain... I have been there and done that. Sometimes it is a matter of finding the right person for that specific job... I know Slim offered his services to edit... These days volunteers are harder and harder to find. (no pum intended)

Hey guys :) First let me thank you for some of the opinions. I wrote them down and i promise it won't be forgotten.

Now, I'll be frank with you for a second, I'm a bit disapointed in how this thread turned out. Pointing fingers was the last thing i thought would happen. Mark and i never discussed about redoing the members area, but i took it upon myself to ask you guys because i was very interested in seeing how the members area could be better. Now i feel bad that i even started this discussion.

NOW i want you to understand that Mark is a business man (or the captain like you said :), and has zillions things to take care of. I don't even know how he does it. BUT still, he finds some time to post here. He might overlook things but knowing Mark really well, he does not do it on purpose. I don't even have time to read all the posts here. I mean that'd be crazy and i would never have work done :)

I want you to understand that Mark's the owner of Broke Straight Boys, but I created IT (Design wise). This is like a baby to me, and it's very close to my heart. I know it might sound silly but after 4 years of working on a site everyday, you tend to get very close to it, AND i want you to understand that i'll do everything i can to make it even better for you guys.

All i'm asking you guys is just take a seat back, take it easy and give me valid points without pointing fingers. We're all trying to do a good job here. It's a new year, we have to deal with tons of things so give us a little time and i promise things will change in the members area :)

Let me thank you again for all the time you put in giving us ideas. Some of them are really good and i'll make sure they get added really soon :)

Alright, that's all i had to say :)

Sorry. I misread. I like the forums a lot but I do wish I could make it stop being black...

scorpio, the guys on the forum must seem like a ravening pack of dogs, hungry for Blu to pay them some attention. I was knocked out by your asking for suggestions in the original post. I answered back without even taking the time to notice that you had limited your request for ideas to the members' home page area. If you got even a couple of bits of useful feedback from this thread it was totally worth it. And it gave the Broke Straight Boys fan(atic)s a chance to let off steam. That was also good, and you can be sure that the guys who posted polemical stuff didn't do so in rancor. Finger pointing is rude, but it's also part of the rough and tumble and cut and thrust. A forum with a bunch of bright, articulate females mixed in would have a different tone. We are just like this, all guys, all a bit opinionated, and mostly can't help it. So...

1. Visually and mechanically the site is awesome. It's dead-on designwise and easy to use. It needs the model search facility we've been talking about, if you have time to add it. And the Forum is almost obsessively perfect, Swiss watchmaking at its best.

2. Pornographically we've had a lot of educational input from David, and understand better the darker underbelly of the industry in S. Fla. and how Blu tries to cope with all that and sometimes comes up against stuff out of their control.

3. The story texts (I'm not gonna copy and paste any of the "best" ones, you've seen them too) are now immensely better, good enough that (even) I would only notice in passing the small fluffs and not mind them.

4. Finally, don't regret having become interactive with your fellow members (and clients). I've sometimes made fun when some of us only post on the forum to say thank you. But now it's, gulp, my turn. You are one ace dude mister. What you do for yours and Blu's site is terrific. And the owner is super proud of you too, as he well should be. Thanks.

Hi Scorpio,

Please don't get your feelings hurt by feedback from members. I know it's difficult not to take it personally when you have invested so much passion, hard work and dedication into such a big project. You are never going to please all of the people all of the time. Please keep in mind though that no matter how much people might complain about this or that, that we're still here. Many of us are well educated and/or intrinsically intelligent people. If we thought that Broke Straight Boys and the bonus sites were such shoddy operations we would have moved on to other sites a long time ago.

The fact that we are still here every month paying our dues has to show you something. We obviously saw and still see plenty that we do like. We recognize that this site and your guys' hard work has built a great adult entertainment operation. It's human nature for us to see something that we recognize as good, with such great potential, and want to see it taken to a higher level. You obviously share that passion because you have asked us for input to improve the site even further. Just because we may find fault with different aspects of the site or have suggestions for improvements, doesn't mean that we think all your guys' work up to this point has been crap. That's a technical term by the way. :) You can be very proud of the operation that you have built so far. We members would have to believe that Blu is one of the best in the business or we wouldn't part with our time and money to enjoy it.

A thread on "What we love about Blu" would not get many eager posts because it would seem so tacky. That's only natural. Nobody wants to give gushing testimonials on their enjoyment of something like an adult entertainment site. If you put up a thread with an open ended question like "How can we improve the site?" of course you'll be inundated with feedback. Some will be constructive, some not, and some possibly perceived as being mean spirited.

Yes. I know you only wanted feedback for the members' area. Thanks for clarifying that again. It's easy to get off topic in the forum. I must say that the forum is one of the best ideas yet for the site. It showed real innovation and a desire to see the site not just emulate but surpass the competition. I wouldn't be surprised to see other sites try to jump on the bandwagon. But again, please try to see us members as the ultimate testimonial to your hard work. Thank you for all the passion and work you have put into your "baby". Obviously we are fond of her also. lol

Scorpio, thank you for reeling us in a bit. I really find your work pretty amazing. It takes a lot of code writing to get the site to look as good as it does. Anyone who can write lines of programing code and produce something as visually appetizing as you have should be commended. I did not intend to stab anyone in the back or personally attack what others had to say.

I do like the Broke Straight Boys home page. As I said, the Forum is addicting as it is. You guys have really done a great job toward developing a whole web based community that allows us to interact with each other and management. I find that I enjoy the Forum as much as the websites. Thank you for your hard work...

Even if he tried Jayman couldn't get it wrong
